  • what do you think of SUVs with 2WD (as now with XC90) ?

Lt. newspaper news comes the XC90 – as for a long time in the USA – also in D to the all-wheel also with 2WD (because it should become more expensive with it) – other manufacturers have already started with it already. How do you say to it? Is such a car then still a “SUV” ? At least it is still as “high” as a real SUV, namely about the 180 cm. Other SUVs are already clearly under 170 cm, that is then the so-called “crossover”. Soon they are already under 160 cm. But back to the K question: What do you think of SUVs that don’t have an all-wheel drive? rolo PS: I personally don’t think about it, I don’t think all-wheel drive not only has advantages on detours (but who is already driving into the terrain !?) but also safety advantages on normal roads, especially in winter and wet weather and especially on a high-rise and relatively heavy car.

  • Motor oil also under the tub

Hello Elk-Gemeinde, I have complained in other contexts about my Dickelch. Then everything was quiet, except for the following: I would have liked to have heard something from the experts below you, if motor oil from the plastic tube next to the oil tank – I believe it leads to the compressor – drips down on the lower engine cover and of course also the bottom of the tub. Who has gained experience so far? In particular, it is also up to me to the specialists Z of the “90-er”. The story: XC90D5 Executive 185 HP with toos. Options. EZ December 2006. Already for the first maintenance in 2007, I reported the beginning oil pollution. “You have to keep watching it”. Maintenance 2008: It had become worse. Small amounts of oil on the lower engine cover. I wrote a note for my master and enclosed photos. The bells were pulled on the said tube. At the same time I closed an extension warranty over 3 years. maintenance 2009: the same, only again worse. Oil also again on the cover, note, photos and on both sides comments. maintenance 2010: again a little more oil on the cover, drops on the pipe and under the oil pan. note, photos and the comment: “You have to wait for the further development”. That made me angry, but I have another year until the expiry of the warranty extension. On 08.11. I have already, with regard to the next and last inspection in December, mei a new note with the listing of all the proposals and the latest photos sent to my dear master. His reaction, but only to my telf. demand on November 17: He noted on his report: “Dense engine”, so he told me. So what to do? Who can help? I would be pleased. Greetings to all Doeffi

  • Finally also proud moose driver

So, after a long search and waiting for a long time (health-related about 3 weeks) our first Swede is now at the door. It is a 2004 XC 70 “Premium” D5 with upscale equipment (leather, automatic,Navi, phone,HU 803 Dolby, electr. seats, AhK,etc.) in Black Metalik. We picked him up today under winter conditions. The car is from 2nd hand, complete SH at Volvo, but has some optical stains which are quite legitimate after 9 years. There were still many Invoices and service leaflets in the car, what particularly scared me, or I didn’t expect from Volvo either: the angular gearbox was changed at 140000 and after 7 years already. Was it a limp 1500€, anyway what’s going on? Thought with Volvo everything was done for eternity then I could have stayed with VW.Now of course it is our advantage, a part less that can break! But altogether a horny box!! Comfortable, basic solund un d such a nice smooth 5-end, perfect! Better pictures follow of course. Planned changes: – Preheating, sometimes just driving to Venlo (5km ) – Extender box for an even more “more” – iPhone/MP3 connection – more beautiful wheels with all-year tire,as a replacement for the series “Tellus” – wood applications to replace aluminium variant (who wants?)

  • V70 II visited and disappointed, questions about

Hello together, I would like to introduce myself briefly, have spent the last 10 years in the BMW camp and am currently looking for a faithful cargo donkey. Since I had a 2004 V70 D5 as a company car already years ago, and was absolutely happy with the car (OK, new car driven from 300km – 102000km), I would like to now another one. Of the shape I would like the V70 II, is most appealing for me. On Friday I visited one in the vicinity, but this one has me (Rost on rear bumper carrier, rust at front dome bearings, climate def, poor condition, maintenance jam). Therefore, my question, what must be realistically created for a well-kept model. Basic data: from BJ 2002 AHK climate leather seat heater KM up to 250 tkm Would like more equipment, but no Must Have. For information, am from Southern Bavaria, with us the selection is unfortunately very limited. Thanks to all experienced moose drivers.

  • Automatic locking of the doors and rockfall in the disc

Hello moose driver ! I just bought an S60 summum Built 10/2005 at the friendly. In the operating instructions it says that the doors should lock automatically from a speed of 7 km/h. With my car does nothing, the buttons do not go down. Do the doors have to close after opening with the remote control after 2 minutes, if the doors were not used ? Have got 2 keys with remote control, there must still be a main key?l Have e in the rockfall with a crack of approx. 5 cm in the windshield passenger side. Must then the disc be changed and the insurance covers the costs, have partial casket 150 self-deposit. Does the S60 have a comfort closure ? ( With my old Opel Zafira I can turn the key in the driver’s door to the left and thus close alle windows and the sliding roof? Greeting Harry

  • Navi fixed installation VDO Dayton

On please by weflydus in my introduction Fred Quote: Original written by weflydus here times the first pictures… Hardware became a VDO Dayton MS5000, which I bought quite cheaply in the large auction house. The calculation (DIN size) under the trunk ambush flap next to the breakdown triangle was stowed. Cable to the monitor was on the driver side next to the cable channel forward, under the footroom cover driver side, at the ventilation channel of the medium nozzles up to the middle speaker (be The power supply incl. return signal comes from the compact plug for the towing device (also not installed) in the trunk. Tacho signal was not necessary, so many descents in tunnels we did not have from the original middle speaker cover the grid was removed, the monitor holder was attached and then covered with light synthetic leather, suitable for the seats. Contrast between color dashboard and leather was absich t!!! ufwand (2 persons) + mother-in-law (who can handle needle and thread) about 3-4 hours. Thanks again to all who provided me with information about the moose.

  • Bi-fuel on a mountain trip – how does it behave?

Hello to the small CNG community! I have been asked how the 140 hp of the Bi-fuel is driving in mountainous areas. Since I only have experience from the middle mountains, they want to pass this on to the round at this point. (Compare with D-, T- or R-models please in other Freds! , 140 hp-petrols are allowed against it) I myself am quite happy to switch and turn over the 5,000 mark to Accelerate. My consumption does not increase by more than 8 ,2 kg/100km! – Do you switch the machine with a gas pedal at the end stop at the lower speeds? – At what speeds do you drive in normal operation? – Do you switch to petrol to overtake the mountain to get the last remaining torque from the engine? – What are your consumption values for mountain rides? Greetings, Stefan (always sprays all the washing water for weight reduction before mountain rides and extinguishes the light during the day to relieve the generator)

  • Suddenly XC90 battery empty???

Hello, after the previous shutdown our XC90 was suddenly the battery empty yesterday morning. I was of course not there again (mission trip) and so I had to explain to my OHL first by telephone, that we are in the ADAC and I put a ADAC card into the wallet a long time ago (didn’t even notice it). Fortunately there is a phone number on it which she then called. ADAC came and found empty battery. Then she charged 10 min. with his. Then h at my OHL the car ran a little 30 min in the stand and then dared not to drive any more. After that she tried to start again, which also worked perfectly. This evening I came back and had to shop urgently, which my OHL did not dare for two days. XC90 jumped perfectly, even after the purchase. My question now: why is suddenly the battery empty with a new car? With Volvo everything goes off! Radio, lights off, SH was My OHL isn’t much of a help in the cause research either 🙁 Have you ever had such a thing before? Ciao, XC90newbie.
