  • V70 2.4D – Too little power?

Hello, I’m just about to pick up a commercial car and as an old Volvo fan with two children I would like to take a V70. The problem is: Only the no diesel (92kW) fits into the budget. What are your experiences? Is the engine power enough for such a heavy car? I drove both an XC90 and an XC70 as a D5 with Automatic – of course, they were great, but not really comparable. I also had an E-Class (E200 CDI) with 122hp. At the moment I drive a V40 with 122hp (petrol) – normally the performance is enough for me. Although I like to drive fast. Does someone have the comparison to the V50 2.0D? In advance thank you for your tips.

  • V70 D5: 215/55 R16 or 205/55 R16 ?

Hello, I got a few offers for winter tyres today (yes, I know I’m very early on). Almost everywhere the same (expert) opinion: Take the 205/55/R16, which are up to 50 EUR cheaper per tire and in winter anyway better to drive. At the moment I have 215/55/R16 on it as summer tyres. What would you recommend? I like the wider flaps already better but if the 205 are not only cheaper but also even safer … thank you for any opinion, greeting Jan

  • Timing belt changes?!

Hello! A short question to the experts… A friend from Norway has an S80 2.0T (model year 2000, turbo-petrol with 180hp) and is coming to visit his parents here in Tyskland soon… He is usefully trying to combine this with the inspection of the elk, which is probably due for inspection book at 150,000km and here is cheaper than in the far north (I also suspect that the Volvo dealer there does not know him at all, since he always has his work done here… a 1100km back and forth to my gas retrofitter, even if there is nothing and he does so with the normal inspections… ). Now it probably also says in the same booklet that the timing belt should be changed at 160,000km… If he would rarely go to Germany, he would have everything done in one go anyway… But he is here in the fall anyway and therefore the question is: is the change of the timing belt really considered at 160,000km (and therefore detached from d he inspection), or did he read something wrong. He now also thinks about having the inspection done at 160,000km (10,000km more make the cabbage not fat and he doesn’t drive so much)… Bye, Dirk (who is wondering when his own moose actually wants/must?!)

  • Charging air coolers

Hello dear Elche community, my charging air cooler from the Volvo V70 D5 (bj.2002) licks. • Change gear oil – yes or no ??

hello together, how does it look with the change of the transmission oil from ? should you do that or not ? if yes, from which running power ?? I ask, because I actually think it makes sense to renew also the oil of the transmission – (in my case a v70 II MJ 2006, switch, diesel, 120 ps) now anch 150,000 km times. with my previous questions at the dealer and also other workshops it was called “as long as the transmission does not lose oil or can be badly switched-no change!” I have no ineligible problems with the gearbox, but fresh oil can not hurt or prevents certainly higher wear ?! to stimulate, tips and also well-founded recommendations I would be grateful. alex

  • What’s wrong with Volvo XC 90 T6?

have a Volvo XC 90 Bj 03 with 137,000 km. That was all broken: transmission, a turbocharger, turbo valves, exhaust, headlight washing system 2x, horn, key, sliding roof, boot blind, and now also the Navi is over. Quite a lot for such a “Billigauto”. All damages outside of the warranty and without culling solution to pay fully. arrivederci Volvo!…

  • MEGA callback action in sight

The Swedish car manufacturer Volvo is considering the biggest recall action of the company’s history because of a motor error. As the spokesman of the Ford company, Christer Gustafsson, confirmed on Wednesday on the radio, it is currently being discussed at the Gothenburg headquarters whether all the cars of the years 1999-2001 – this is several hundred thousand pieces – are recalled or repaired free of charge only at the initiative of the respective owner. • All passenger door functions are gone!

Hello, I have a problem with my V70: all functions of the front right door do not do it. This means that the door itself cannot be opened – whether by remote control or with the key, it does not open – and all electrical components do not work. The outside mirror can neither be adjusted nor heated; the window lifter can also be operated nciht. As I said, the problem only occurs with the passenger door, all a Since my wife no longer wants to chain her to the passenger seat via the centre console, my question. Does any of you have an idea? The workshop probably thought that one had to destroy the door panel, since it is not possible to dismantle it when the door is closed. Only the part price should be about 600 euros! Thank you Stefan
