I’m just thinking about how to mount my TomTom One better. So far I’ve only used it if necessary, but after today I’m thinking about whether permanent use with the reference to the photogenic sights of the surroundings would not make sense. But the rigid windshield suction cup of the One allows the device to vibrate quite, the gooseneck mount of my PDA was better. I’m thinking about a better mount now. Well-known manufacturer probably should be Brodit, who offers various mounts and offers the S60 dashboard as a sample copy. For me, only the mounts for the ventilation nozzles in the center console can be considered. Does anyone have any experience with these mounts? Does the ventilation interfere, noises arise from the disabled air draught? Is the device not too warm by the direct heat supply? Greeting, Olli

Purchase D5, 163, 185 or 2007 185 hp model
Hello, we momemtan specifically with the idea to buy our first Dickelch, after we slowly but surely become more dissatisfied with userem Voyager (quality, workshop annoyance etc.) Since it is not yet clear whether to buy a used model or buy a new 2007 model, I would be interested in your opinion about the three submissible engine versions of the D5: 1. Purchase of a 163 hp model (until approx.8.2005) would be the cheapest variant, but the weakest engine with the famous start-up weakness 2. Purchase of a 2006 with 185 hp, i.e. before the FL good machine, but as a used vehicle clearly more expensive 3. Purchase of a new 2007er with 185 hp and particle filter Since the XC90 from the private chatule has to be paid, I see between the three variants a cost rating of 35,000 to 45,000 resp. 45,000 (new purchase) Certainly the 2007 when reselling is by far the most sought-after model, followed by the 2006 with 185 hp. The old with 163 hp then there are clear disadvantages, as well as to the increase of the fuel consumption.

XC70 -> Strange defect in the cooling circuit/sensory …
Hi together, my moose is really worried for the first time. At the Alpenrace I pushed the behavior still on the steep passes – but even there T5-Kusi wrote that it should not get so hot (with him was no movement of the Temp. indicator from the middle position fixed). At least outside temperatures above +30°C. I drive the XC70 now since 2003 and have seen the Temp. pointer still NIE above the middle of the instrument scale. Even in the AWD use in high summer with trailer operation not! The error now occurs however also at night drives (approx. +20°C and at high (>200km/h) speeds here in D. First it was noticed with Saturday morning (Switzerland, at first pass). The Temp. went quite fast and stopped at the beginning of the red area …

Increased insurance contribution due to chip tuning
After my change of vehicle from D5 to 2,4d with Heico Chip 190PS, my insurance now “finally” sends me the billing with calculation of the insurance contributions. Result: Compared to the previous year significantly increased contributions! I then recalculated with my data and notice that the insurance has increased the contribution by almost 40% in the vehicle insurance – without stating reasons. A phone call has gone ahead, by wanting to have accurate documents about vehicle new value and costs of chipting, which I of course sent without any consideration. Have you experienced similar experience? Who can give me an insurance that allows this registered and approved chip without surcharge? I currently pay despite SF11 full 700,- in the half-year liability and TK/VK, in direct comparison with the HUK, for example, that would be about twice what would be possible according to my key numbers and other data… philipp

weird error message in the on-board computer
Hi, yesterday morning I start the car, drive about 300m, the elk switches to gas, still stops at a junction and when switching from 1 to the second gear, I had a speed of va. 2500 rpm comes following error message in BC “slowly drive or turn up” In addition, the engine symbol in the right indicator lit up. Has anyone ever had this before? Does this perhaps hang together with my stubborn throttle valve (see here or even with the gas system? In any case, I then turned off the engine, waited 10s and started again. (Bill Gates sends greetings) Anyway, I did not have the error again until now. After various defects on the elk (gear expansion wg. resinated fat, lock exchange, bar flaps, roof sky and parking disc holder vibrating, brake assistent defect, defective front axle bearing, oil carbon deposits throttle) I doubt so slowly on the elk quality… Ciao, Eric

Hello to everyone, I’m new here ….
A nice morning in the round!!! Read here already for a few weeks and have finally decided in the previous week for my first VOLVO (V70 2.4D EZ 04/03 ). The reason to take a used one is due to bad experiences with my last OPEL ( Vectra GTS ) which I bought again. In the first 2 years however, he would have to accept over 60 box stops with my dealer, which has destroyed my trust to NEW vehicles something. Now I test times a “driving living room” in green and have to express a big praise after the first week. According to the following criteria I have taken the decision to search for a vehicle: 1. 5 doors, because the dog has to carry with me. 2. “Sportsman” diesel, on the one side for optical reasons, and on the second I drive long distance and prefer a somewhat harder feel. (actually my back has taken over!) 3. from 125 hp to top and not under 2 liters of cubic capacity was actually fulfilled everything up to: 1. Sporty – since he has none of it 2. Hard feeling – because my back has not too much.

Save Spirt by full throttle or give little gas?
Volvo 2.5 L petrol engine (BJ 1993) & automatic – full gas or slow gas? There was the thing about the bad fuel consumption in the “part load range”. What was that again? Is it better to accelerate with almost full gas, or quite slowly ? Simplified thought, is the energy that has to be applied to get to 60 km/h in urban traffic the same, right? Have you heard that 3/4 gas is optimal, but can someone contribute something well-founded to it? I might be driving quite wrong, is there rather the always slow accelerating type … to love the consumption ) Thank you !

Repair tips?
Hello, my friend ordered the following for my S60 T5: 2x crossbars 2x trackbars 1x upper motor bearing makes approx. 550 € *sigh* The upper motor bearing is not a problem according to VolvoProfi… Has anyone ever changed the crossbars? Do I have to hold the spring with spring tensioners in check, or how? I ask all these questions now without having seen in the service manual. the trackbars should not be the topic! Are 106€ measured for the track in order? I am happy about tips!!! I’m going to do the oil change. I had a Motul oil, I believe 0 or 5 W 40. Can this be? But has not been one of the Volvo recommended ones… What do you mean? Greeting, Tom – the next weekend dances under the elk 😀 … and is looking forward to it already. XC90 Decision support requested
Hello, in the next few days our new family SUV is to be ordered. In the short choice are Audi Q7, BMW X5, Volvo XC90 (it is to become a 7-seater SUV, diesel). BMW we have already tested, we like very much, especially the engine and the driving behavior. Audi we get to the test tomorrow and then the Volvo follows. The budget is max. 65,000 euros. What equipment you get for it, what is a “must” ? What are the advantages of the Volvo compared to the two other candidates ? Are there also disadvantages ? Thanks for a few nice tips Ringino
