XC90 finally there / Inscription… Hello together ! After several long months waiting I was able to pick up my XC90 D5 yesterday at the friendly one! Since I never work with anything without problems I still drive with “yellow” license plates, because Volvo sent the letter too late … But tomorrow will do everything. So, my first impression: class ! – new engine very smooth – new Geartronic considerably better, switches no more “hard” as the old – very good noise insulation in the interior and: – the car is far too big for my underground garage …!!! Yesterday it took 15 minutes to place the big one there. And I say: I can drive a car and also park. Unfortunately our underground garage is very narrowly built and for such vehicles not designed. Through the stepping boards the car on each side becomes again 10cm wider, thus the entry becomes a real millimeter work. PDC front and rear have beepept at the same time… But I will continue to practice and then we will look… Now however a photo of the new one!

Hello, I’m now working on the purchase of winter tyres for our S60 like many of you. I’m asking myself the basic question, whether I should buy only tyres and mount on the existing LM rims “Canaveral” instead of the summer tires or is it better for tyres and rims to prefer the purchase of the complete wheels? Do you have technical concerns for the tyre change that the tire does not get to get down from the rim once a year and to get out again or the rim does not get the salt in the winter? Hello, as I have already posted here, I have ordered an XC90 Ocean Race. This one should be delivered in December. I have already inquired about suitable winter tyres. First of all, my tyre dealer told me that there are only aluminium rims and no steel rims for the XC90. Well, I can still live with that. The offer of 18 inch winter tyres is very limited. He has now made me an offer for the Pirelle Scorpion Zero the Bridgestone DMZ3 the Michelin Alpin as well as the Mastercraft MSR and the Champiro Savero GT. All as 17 inches. Has an experience with this and can give me a hint here? These No Name products are honestly not so my thing. My next question is the to snow chains, run over Sylvester to Austria ski. Would like to take with you for emergency chains. The Alu wheels that my tyre dealer has offered me, allow me a finely structured chain. My friend has something like this in the rental. Has here an idea where I can borrow such chains? Will not buy for a pig money.

Hello Volvinos, After a short break I would like to report again. My fourth Volvo (V70 D5, year 11/2002) is slowly developing into a Monday car. Up to now more parts have been replaced than with my three predecessors (850, 850 Kombi and V70 Tdi). Small extract: hum sounds at 150 -160 Km/h – various repair tests Material errors Door panel – changed crack in the leather steering wheel – changed driver’s seat does not rest on – rails change climate automation defective – completely changed material defects sun blind – changed floor heating defective – cleaned gear transmission – reverse gear can not be inserted – gear disassembled and cleaned loudspeakers defective – changed 12V socket in the boot – repaired start problems – all injection nozzles changed (bulance) car does not start – starter changed (culance) So I only knew from colleagues the Audi A4, Passat, or Sharan so far! Do I have extreme bad luck?

Hi, I am’s again. would need your help After I received my new XC 90 on 03.02.05 the following flaws occur : 1. From the beginning the turn signals do not flash evenly, there are partly double or triple flashes. 2. Yesterday I had appointments in Berlin. On the driveway (interval circuit ) the disc wipers partly did not wipe back to the beginning position, but stayed on the quarter of the disc height, until then the normal wipe interval started and after 10 minutes the same happened. 3. In Berlin ( Mileage : 1000 km ) we wanted to use my Navi system. However, the screen remained dark. Even after several turns on and off of the system it did not get better. Only after the complete turn off of the engine and restart functioned the system again. 4. On the return trip the Navi system and the radio fell out simultaneously during the ride, in order to restart after a few seconds. 5. Today my BC has played crazy and has always jumped back to the menu point before. Furthermore, the screen was dark again, I did not have to be able to diagnose a few of my friends. Maybe I have a problem.

Hi, I’ve never owned a mobile phone before and absolutely no idea about it. I’m now thinking about whether it might not make sense to use the phone in my car for emergencies on the road. Therefore the ‘dummy’ question: How does it work with the mobile phones without a card contract. Is the SIM card charged with credit so that you can also use it in the car, or is the credit on an extra card? I have little desire to add a mobile phone contract, only in the rare case that I have to make a phone call from the road. On the other hand, paying 20 euros once for a mobile phone with a prepaid card would be a reasonable expense (just give it here again without a connection fee).

Hello @all audiophile XC90 driver, after having completed a test drive in the XC90 with summum equipment or enjoyed it, I would like to say that I am extremely disappointed by the premium sound system. I know, here in the forum there was certainly already the one or other thread about it. Nevertheless, I would personally like to know which system you would advise me on. I am seriously thinking that Summum package to cancel and instead to switch to Momentum (incl. 18 ́s Atlantis, Xenon, tinted disks, Inscription Tuscany brown, Inscription wood, Alarm etc.) . Given my option list would therefore only be the electric driver seat and the famously infamous and strongly criticized premium sound system “misses”. I really fit very well. What do you mean to my criticism regarding premium sound? Have you had similar experiences or is it perhaps a matter of attitude? For example, the surround setting was even a hindrance to the sound of the musicians.

Hello @all, up to what date is a change in the desired configuration of the ordered vehicle possible? I have received a non-binding delivery date for January 2006. There should be a change in it quite unproblematic after all, right? I am suggested here that my change request may not be taken into account any more. Hmm… Mine, however, only exists since 2005. Hello, who knows if you can set the xenon light. At my V70 / year of construction 2005 the light/dark limit runs about 50 m (recognizable at the border posts of the road), the illumination of the right edge of the road extends about 25 m further. Of the road markings in the middle of the road are usually only 3 strokes to be seen. On country roads it is hardly possible to drive at approx. 100 km/h, as curves can be seen only very late.
