  • Seat heating depending on the passenger seat occupancy?

I’m just wondering if the seat heating of the passenger seat (with a V70 MJ06) when it’s on is also working when no one is sitting in the passenger seat. Warm the seat is not actually going to be, but this can also be because the seat surface comes into contact with the heating only by sitting on it and is therefore heated. Despite a long search I have found here no meaningful information about this besides a side info in this thread:http://www.motor-talk.de/…/PostJump.html?… It would of course be very useful if the seat heating of the passenger seat only heats when the seat occupancy detection is on. Then I could also let it turn on now in winter. Otherwise I don’t want to let it run idle. Can anyone give me a definite statement about this here? Thank you, Tobi

  • Solution: torn off tank lid in Waschstrasse

The reprogramming of the shutter speed is not a solution, since the tank lid remains open from the inside when locking up. Also with me the tank lid was open every time after the washing road visit. Finally I found a simple remedy. To do this one has to know that the tank lid is opened by the dry blower of the wash road and tears off in an unfavourable case. The air jet blows into the “finger arching” of the lid and creates an overpressure in the small volume between the lid and screw cap. This overpressure finally presses the tank lid on. Remedy: Glue a adhesive strip from the inside over the arch! This adhesive strip is not visible from the outside (if one does not take exactly white adhesive tape), but prevents the air from entering the small volume between the lid and screw cap. The adhesive strip is about 4 cm wide and 8 cm long. Since this small modification, the lid remains reliable with me (since 6 washings)! Please Volvo Grus!

  • New Volvo XC90

Hello, I’m the first time in this forum today because I’ve been looking for more information about my new car… already exciting… I ordered a Volvo XC90 just before Christmas and I’m looking forward to it like a little child. My dealer will indicate the delivery date with March. Is that realistic? What do you think of my configuration? XC90 D5 Sport as a 7-seater business package Mobility, there is NAVI and so on included alarm system automatic gearbox CD changer, 6-fold Vulcanis rims, series Black metallic sliding lifting roof, glass, electric floor heating incl. timer Bin times eagerly on your opinions… but now could not change anything anyway. Maybe I have an AHK retrofitted. But I already read that I should take it from another provider and not the original Volvo AHK… Many greetings, BIBUBA

  • Volvo V70-II (2001) + Clarion MAX973HD?

Hello, now it is decided, I will buy 95% today a Volvo V70-II from 2001 and upgrade to gas. Unfortunately, the no navigator has in it. and of the available solutions I clearly like the Clarion MAX973HD best. However, the installation frame offered by Clarion BKX-1354-01 is only for V/0 from 2004 onwards. Now my questions: – Does anyone have the MAX973HD — possibly even in a V70? — experience? – Can it be that the kit only goes from 2004 onwards? Was there a change? – Is there a double DIN frame for the V70 Bj 2001? (EZ 08/2001) – Do I need a CAN bus adapter? (This could involve more complicated questions, as there are several here…) Well, more could follow… Thank you for your answers, Gerhard. PS: So I decided against the Laguna-III and S211… (For the next 4 years…)

  • What happens if I do NOT use the standardized oil standard (guarantee)

Hello all, my V70 has to be for the 60,000 ́ inspection. Now I have a cheap oil source (man bugs me this mischief) Now I have another year (connection) guarantee and on the oil bottle stands Not this ACEA standard A5/B5 but A3/B3/B4/C3 The soup is called Castrol EDGE Turbodiesel SAE 0W30 (especially for turbodiesel and soot particulate filters) Can something happen to me with regard to the warranty in case of engine damage? If yes, I pick up the oil for a year later. But this is an absolutely high-quality expensive brand oil. What do you mean?

  • CO2-neutral – but please do!

The other night around 10 in Germany (on the side of a very large insurance company): Quotation: “… ECOmotion – Actively contribute to climate protection and drive CO2-neutral! With ECOmotion you have the opportunity to actively contribute to climate protection: By acquiring a CO2 reduction certificate you participate directly in projects that reduce the global CO2 emissions. Your contribution to the reduction certificate is so measured that the CO2 emissions of your vehicle are compensated mathematically and the equivalent value is invested directly in climate protection. In this way you drive CO2-neutral. Yes, I invest the following contribution and drive with my vehicle CO2-neutral. Your vehicle: Volvo – S (V 70 COMBI 2.4 D5 AWD) Your contribution: 89.96 Euro …” Yes clearly, the board needs more money, I like to follow this donation call… still jumping on the chair – the manateee

  • Redesign XC90

‘On the other hand, I’ve been a proud owner of an XC90 D5 AWD Executive since last Wednesday, which I bought with mileage 34043 used. The Dickelch was also in top-kept condition. All in all, I’m satisfied after now 900 kilometers driven seahhr. The equipment is really excellent, both qualitatively and in its entirety ( my two “no-go’s” sliding roof and trailer coupling are fortunately not on board). The best: after I was quite satisfied with the average consumption achieved by me during the test drive, I could push it even further after several times driving my work path: the BC shows me 7.0 liters, due to which I had previously needed some thought it was only 6.85 ! And when I first got used to the automatic (all my predecessors were switches), is certainly still ‘an improvement possible. The only minus point on my new elk, because of which I had previously used some thought time, is as before the ( not existing) color: he has not received a positive quote from all of the early days but I’ll have known about it again.

  • S80 Double-Din installation

Hello together, I have been proud owner of a Volvo S80 (1999) 2.4 for a few days and I would like to exchange the cassette radio for a double Sony XAV-601BT. I would like to know: 1. Which cables / adapters are needed by and where do I get them? 2. Which mounting frame do I need? Do also those that are intended for the V70 / S60? 3. Do I have to set anything on the CAN-BUS system? I would be very happy about an answer.

  • XC70 – Massive gear damage??? 🙁

Moin, since the beginning of the year the BC message “gear maintenance required”. After transmission oil changes and countless diagnostic attempts without success the message suddenly went out. But last week Wednesday it happened now. I had just filled up with joy-raying LPG, drove from the tank and heard a short cracking from the front – no further thought, but from the cracking became a whistle and squeaking. In addition, there was a rattle and grinding (as if rubber is rubbed on metal) and I noticed that the automatic started to switch very sluggishly and the car had hardly any acceleration at 5,000 rpm and that at 200 hp…. Well, I then tormented myself with elk at home and had to be dragged to the workshop on Friday – engine was of course off. But what happened to me was a bit funny… this race, squeaking again, grinding, cracking was to be heard even when towing, but only after about 200m of completed distance and from about 30 km/h (my dad was partly dressed up with a 50 km/h).
