I am currently looking for a big station wagon and I have seen two good offers for a V 70, 2.4D with 130 hp. I drove a S60 with this engine a year ago and found it really ok. However, since I would like to have a bit more temperament, there is the consideration whether one could not help with a small chip. Can you recommend something there or has already made someone experience with it. What looks like afterwards with consumption and defects. I am someone who mainly drives on BAb 140-160 km/h, but with extremely free track also sometimes well 200 km/h. Hi has been driving a brand new v70 D5 since February. In the meantime it has 15Tkm on the clock; find that an average consumption of 9 l/100 km (a lot of motorway at approx.160 km/h) is quite high. Thought that the consumption decreases after driving in. What experiences do you have? mfg

Hello, in March comes our new XC90. This time in silver-metallic. Since I did not want to do without the VSG (noise insulation) I now look for a possibility to sound the discs afterwards. Question: Does anyone have experience with subsequent tint of VSG discs? I have concerns, since the laminated glass panes are already very thick and I fear that the panes with the additional foil in the rubber seal of the rear doors clamp or quickly blur.

Halllo together, for some time now I feel the noise level in the interior of my V70 II D5 Mj 08 on my favorite highway track as disturbingly loud. Can you do something here with an additional insulation? Last time I drove a Toyota Avensis Diesel on the same track – it was clear (whistle-) quiet. Good day together I’d be very grateful if someone could help me with my problem. I’ve had an XC70 Jg. 2003 for 2 months with 40,000Km. Two weeks ago I went on vacation with the car and my trailer (1200kg). I drove quickly over a pass that was quite long (passenger ride about 1 hour). After about 3⁄4 hours the warning triangle turned yellow with the message “Check transmission”. About 10 minutes later the automatic transmission turned off and also the Geartronic did not work anymore (i.e. I could no longer manually switch). At the automatic transmission the engine was apparently not cooled down again and the machine works again. Then the warning triangle turned red with the message “Check transmissions” lighted up. Then I parked the car and called the breakdown aid. When this arrived the engine was apparently not cooled again and the machine works again. Just the yellow warning triangle lighted up with the message “Check transmissions” lighted up. Then the breakdown broke my car service then. Now the engine update was burned up and the engine changed again.

Dear community, since I have been the proud owner of an XC90 D5 BJ 2004 for 2 days now, I notice the very strict leather smell in the interior. I have the dark leather, is this smell leather specific or with all the leather types used at Volvo (or XC 90) so strong. Does anyone already have experience how to remove this smell to complement or at least something “enchanted”??

In my XC70 D5 with Geartronic I found the following phenomenon during manual switching: Switching from the 1st to the 2nd and from the 2nd to the 3rd gear goes independently of the speed without problem. On the other hand, I had to find that switching from the 3rd to the 4th and from the 4th to the 5th gear is not always possible with the same speed. Sometimes I can already switch up with 900 rpm and sometimes only with 2000 rpm. Switching down always works smoothly. Is there a defect or can someone explain the phenomenon to me?
