Hello dear experienced, I urgently need your advice. The question: Is a 10 year old V70 2,4 (automatic / petrol) with a mileage of over 150,000 kilometers still a purchase recommendation or should I leave my fingers off such a car? What time is there for a V70 petroler with this mileage still ahead. The background: I am a wheelchair driver, must sell my beloved A2 (handshift) and get me an automatic, which I can then convert to hand gas. Importantly, it must be a big one, because in the meantime I have bought a handbike. Means: In the car I and my loved one, on the back bench of the dog, behind the Rolli and the hand bike plus weekend luggage and finally on the trailer coupling of the bicycle carrier with the wheel of my loved one. Listens to how a circus, but is only the pleasure and joy of active life 🙂 Since the conversion already will inevitably devour some money, I do not want to make the mistake and when buying a car carelessly put on the wrong horse. What is your good advice?

Check the scrambles?
Hello, as part of the setting of my LPG system, I came across the following phenomenon: The trim values require much less correction under load than, for example, in sliding mode. In other words, under non-load, the engine tends to skim off. LMM is new, the suction cam should be tight (excessive brake cleaner test), Lambda probe delivers nice values… A Forian now said that a defective cracker can lead false air to the Lambda probe. And with the 5-cylinders, there is already that. Now my question: How can I test this? Stage is not available, but bucks. I also have gas Leckscuhspray, can I use that? Do I have to dismantle what? I have already stopped the exhaust, the engine did not go out, but it became very difficult to withstand the pressure.

Volvo S80 2001 – Radio HU-601 – how to remove control unit
Hello together, I had just upgraded my o.a. radio. I wanted to replace a pear and repair a pressure button without a pressure point – but I didn’t see any way to get the control unit off (yes, it’s clipped outside) but… It must still be “somewhere” screwed … I had almost everything dismantled the side panels, CD players etc. – but “no way”. Can anyone help me here? I have already searched extensively on the net (so please don’t use any answers like “…use the SuFu…”. Thank you Udo

Start Prevents Again Try
Hello, I have the following problem with the S 80 D5 Autom., about 47.000 km, almost 2 years old (so still warranty !), can someone give me a hint ? The car can sometimes (often) not let go. After switching on the ignition appears in the display the message “Retry again Start prevented”. I then sometimes have to try it several times (keys out-pure-Zündung on, then irnndwann the message extinguishes). That’s not bad so far, but annoying – and I am afraid that it will eventually not work at all. The workshop has no solution yet, the error memory shows no error after reading out. Have had already had the same problem with the second key already, so it can not be on the transponder in the key. I can only imagine that it is connected with the immobilizer. Has someone already made the experience ? Otherwise I let everything to run the warranty time again, i.e. u.a. now replace the left door rubber, after the right already one year was due (miese quality, do not keep the D vu with perfect , but try the automatic again).

S60 D5 year 2002 AUTOMATIC question!
Hello, you love VOLVO drivers! I’ve been counting on it for almost 2 years and so far I’m very satisfied: 163hp and 222,000km on the Tacho. Was actually never something big, only normal wear (brake, cross-linker jack, springs rear) ride about 30-35,000km p.a. Mostly federal road and highway. And now the question: I’m on the way to the city more often in recent times. I don’t think that the car sometimes wants to make a set at the traffic light when I’m standing on the brake. Of course not. Just a slight jerk. And when I go off the gas, the automatic switches back and forth between 2nd and 3rd gear. Was at Volvo and they say that is so at age. Don’t have to worry about it. The automatic doesn’t make any noticeable noises. Kick-Down etc. everything will be good. Also in normal operation. The Volvo employee also said that a flushing or exchange of the gear oil is not necessary. There is no need for a forum too? There is no need for me to write a message about it all about the same thing.

Rinsing Automatic transmission S60
Hello, so in the forum it is often reported that one should not only change the gear oil, but also make a flushing. In addition, some talk about changing the servo cover. Well, my automatic is after 13 years and 223,000 km no longer like on the first day and my workshop and I agree that one can exchange the oil once. Now I have read that one can not change the filter and therefore also makes sense a flushing. But how should one wash there? Must happen contrary to the normal direction. How does this happen??? And at all: Why rinse? Ultimately, the abrasion, which is not let off, collects in the filter. And what exactly does a servo cover do? Volvo does not know this and my workshop, which is really good, does not say anything. The googles however sometimes. We never bring such an old car to new state anyway. It is only about receiving. Greeting Knut

Camshaft defect?
Hello, how sure some of you know I have since January 2012 a Volvo S60 2.4 with automatic transmission. After I and also some here in the forum initially assumed that the problems on my car have to do with the old battery, a new one was installed. Now, however, the car makes problems again! The following things: 1. During the cold start the speed fluctuates and when I insert the driving stage “R” the car almost goes off. 2. Partially the engine light burns (orange) and the following strikes me: – louder engine noise – less power (almost no kickdown possible) – hard switching of the gears (are hit or switched unnecessary) The reading of the error memory resulted in “error signal camshaft” Have already had the error memory read out two times but the problem continues to appear! A conversation with the previous owner showed that the car did not have these problems before. Now the toothed belt has been changed to me before the sale. Can it have something to do with it? Do you have an idea? LG from Chris?

S60 CD changer retrofit HU-603 Radio with RTI navigation system year 2004
Hello to everyone! I’ve had my elk for many years now and what happened to me recently on the CD: For the S60 there is a CD changer -> How easy it is to retrofit it? My vehicle is equipped with the RTI Navi and the radio is the HU-603. Is it possible to retrofit and if so, how complicated is it? Which parts (except of course the CD changer) will I need for this? If someone has time and desire to write some information about it, I would be very grateful! Have a nice day and a safe ride! DistronicS

Crackling seats
Moin love Volvo friends, so I have to say I really like my S60 from 2005. He has only 142,000 km down and is all around in a good condition for a 16 year old car. Only one thing really goes on my cookie and clouds my joy at the car now: the seats crack! Above all the passenger seat, but since the latest also the driver seat a little. I have tried with the full leather sports seats already by now all possible seat settings. Whether at the top or at the bottom, at the front or at the back, they crack at load displacement. So speak in curves. It sounds like a metallic snap or a cracking stop. Sometimes several times per curve. It is also noticeable. I have the feeling it comes from the tracks. If necessary I can also try to record the whole thing by video. I have already completely removed the passenger seat and again installed it and paid attention to the fact that everything is properly tightened. Does not help. Does anyone know this problem and/or has ideas what could be done there? I would really be grateful for tips, since this condition has never been upgraded to me.

Volvo S60 speedometer failure!!
Hello dear Volvo driver! The speedometer of my S60 has failed and was only at the beginning of the Bosch service. But the specialists unfortunately did not get it there. As a result I was at the speedometer service and there the repair was very expensive, because the specialists at Bosch have damaged it! (processor at the board was damaged). In addition, that also it can not be assured that the speedometer is running again! Also a new speedometer is very expensive according to Volvo! I wanted to ask if you can buy a used one, or if it is possible at all! I asked Volvo if you can learn a used speedometer on another car, but they could not answer me either. Does anyone happen to be able to do this? I need your help people because it is possible without speedometer GURNICHT! Thank me now for your answers Volvo S60 Bj. 2002 2.4 D 131 PS
