Dear community, I will soon have to renew the brakes on the front axle and am just looking for material around. Now there are at Scandix punched discs by Zimmermann in the offer for approx. 50€. Up to now, Zimmermnn as brake manufacturer was no concept for me. Is that something neat? I don’t want to save on it. Which coverings fit well to it? Besides, I think about installing new brake calipers right away, because I sometimes hear a Schelifen from the beginning. Now there are also repair kits, has the sense and if someone has a nice instruction? Vida has nothing.

V70, year 2004, km 140,000
Hello dear Volvo experts, I’m about to buy a Volvo V70. I’m quite insecure because many people advise me not to. Now I have an offer where I don’t know how to decide. The car is built in 4/2004 and has 140,000 km and costs 11.500 EUR. What bothers me most is the high mileage. Although the dealer says that should not bother me, the engine puts away that loosely but what is with the wear symptoms of the transmission, exhaust etc. I need your help for my decision-making. Who drives a Volvo and is it really that the kilometers driven don’t play such a big role.

Wanted: Instructions change lamps radio/climate control panel XC90
Hello! I tried to change my lights on the radio and climate control panel yesterday. Unfortunately, I was alone and tried to switch with the battery, just that. However, as I had to find out, there seem to be some covers or similar installed from the rear of the whole unit…. But that would mean, you really have to disconnect the battery (VCG specification according to) etc. and completely plug it off and remove the thing to change the lights…. And how exactly does that work then I wouldn’t know… Did someone happen to have a guide on what exactly to dismantle there? Or should I go back to the retreat with my just bought lamps and let it do it? And if, what does that cost? Or did someone ever do it themselves at an XC90? Thank you already! Gruss Paddy PS: Yes, I used the SuFu, but unfortunately not found the XC90…or is there a guide for other models that corresponds to the XC90?

S80 2.5D, Automatik, BJ 2001, Farewell pain & looking for an adequate successor …
Dear Elkfriends, I have now gone through and will soon become the hardest of my heart to separate from my beloved S80 2.5D, BJ 2001 – and only because of the rotten fine dust badge. I bought my elk anno 2006 with 104,000 km for 10,500 euros. We immediately became friends at that time (I had a 960 combi, i.e. already elk trainer experience) and now spent almost ten years and 274,000 km together – tacho stand today 378,000 km. If I distribute purchase price and repair costs over the years, the car cost me in the month silly 130 euros and never let me down. I am sad …, but you should look forward. And that’s exactly where I’m not looking right now. I’m looking for an adequate successor – with particle filter, but still before the body change, so if I see that right, until BJ 2006? If I remember right, then the immediate diesel successor has already got after my S80 (the one still over the uncaputable Audi T-motor) and there was something to be recommended for the engine? And then thanks for the engine.

Gas, or… why didn’t I do it myself????
hello again, I don’t know why, but I didn’t really have the impression today that the mechanic(?) had seen something like a sweden tank at all, but I was suspicious and had to go in again, on ́m Li..parking place, and see there it lacks the fire gas drainage. not there, just a hose that lies around there and I had already printed 139 out of the operating instructions (because of the 10 min forced pause after ignition). the battery had ordered the master after vehicle registration (minor), then the actually had to own a fire gas-abltg, or not. can I now drive through the prarie or would the nem suicid come immediately????? to answer am I looking forward to thank you, Willvo.

Volvo V70II D5 – YatourUSB Adapter MP3 makes unwanted noise and needs cable extension
Hello dear MTler and Moose Drivers! Because I am too lazy, too untalented and too “sparable” to install a car radio with MP3 capabilities, I have evaded the Yatour alternative. Installation – relatively problem-free function – relatively problem-free Relatively because 1.) the cable for connecting the car radio to the Yatour is a little short. The Yatour should actually be installed in the storage compartment in the center console. However, the cable is about 50cm too short. Question: Is there an extension cable or longer cable available for sale in the trade or is here someone who could solder something like this to me? 2.) the device puts a kind of howling on the speakers in operation. Directly depending on the speed of the engine (vrmtl. alternator). The howling is good to hear with quiet music. Question: What could this be? The Yatour is connected to the car radio current connection by means of power thief. With every gas giving “heart the noise in the loudspeakers” accordingly. Have I misplaced 02; I forgot to install any of your radio filter?

Oil trap: channels to the engine absolutely tight. Question!
Moinsen, today the elk was supposed to get its new oil trap. So it was done and everything was dismantled and then the shock: Both holes in the engine block were completely dense with oil charcoal. I carefully tried to pour out the stuff. When the holes were so far free, I took out more stuff with a wire. I found out that the holes are open at the right angle and there is also oil coal in it. I am sure that parts have also migrated into the engine. So the elk. Tomorrow is going to a self-help workshop. My plan is to dismantle the oil tank and clean everything. My question is: Does anyone know how the nodding channels of the drilling continue? Is it going directly into the oil tank? In another Volvo_Forum I have just read that the channels do not lead into the oil tank. But how do you want to clean them and where do the channels go??? Who can bring light into the dark? Oh, yes… is it right that the oil bath “only” is sealed with means?

Three child seats in the 7-seater XC90 – Your experience
Hello! I would like to know how you accommodate your children in the XC90. We currently have a Maxi-Cosi with Isofix base for group 0 and a Roman for group 1. Assuming that you have three children with an age range of 2 to 3 years (sometimes size and weight out of consideration), how would you best accommodate them? According to the latest recommendations, kids should sit against the direction of travel as long as possible. And all of this since this summer there are also the iSize models. I wonder how I get to the rear two seats, if both outside seats of the second row are covered with child seats and thus can no longer be folded forward to get to the third row. Isofix holders are only two. How do you do that? Thank you!

LeasingResidual value : less value without particulate filter
From a press release: “Fabrikneue Dieselautos ohne Filteren have lost between 800 and 1000 Euro in the past two weeks, reports the industry newspaper “Automobilwoche” on the basis of a study by EurotaxSchwacke. Many residual value calculations of leasing companies and auto banks are thus obsolete. “There, values break away daily,” said Eurotax manager Martin Verelli of the newspaper.”

Volvo rotary rate sensor defective repair possible- alternative equivalent parts???
Hello together, thanks for the help of a nice user`s now the VIDA works and so now some errors on the car come plausible. Volvo XC90 from 06/2006 with D5 185PS; automatic 151.000km. I could fix some small errors on glow plugs etc.. The not unknown topic with the ESP (maintenance anti-slip…) is still unexplained. Lt. VIDA should be accelerometers (displacement errors) or cross-acceleration sensors of the ubel culprits. With some research it turned out that water has flowed through the exhaust pipe, which is pulled in and out of the socket at the column, into the passenger room. Thus, the sensor located at the lowest point had received water and looks at least outside not so doll. Oxidated aluminum and slightly corroded contacts…. From inside that looks much better…. Who wants to delete the wrong part of Volvo`s new part?
