  • Volvo V70 Bifuel – replacement of the gas distributor

Dear people, for some time now the car has been running out of gas. Driving is then only possible for a certain time on petrol operation. Then it goes back a few weeks and the error comes up again. Today the Volvo was then with the friendly one. Then the hammer: it would have to be replaced the gas distributor, spark plugs and filter. Cost point:1.500 Euro!!! Edit: How is the error in the gas system actually determined? Or would not the system have to be adjusted first? Can someone give me an assessment whether the price fits and maybe someone else has had such a mistake? Thank you for your feedback. Greeting odddo

  • The right lock for the bonnet no longer rests

The right lock for the bonnet – see photo – no longer snaps in. The U-hook on the bonnet is then not pulled down according to purpose. You can see this malfunction on the bonnet, which stands a little above the fender. A former emergency aid no longer works. With it I could push the claw of the lock down by means of a powerful screwdriver until it snapped in. Then I pulled the unlocking handle. The claw opened and locked up accordingly again according to purpose. This emergency aid no longer works as described. I have the impression that compared to earlier less tension is on the unlocking handle. The grip actuation feels more smoo. The Bowden trains visible in the engine compartment to the left lock and to the right lock look o-k. Off and seem to be mounted correctly. What can be the reason that the right lock for the bonnet no longer snaps in? P.S. My experience with the Haynes Service & Repair Manual, however, is currently seen here repeatedly: The topic of the bonnet is not addressed in any way.

  • Another moose on Dresden’s Holperstrasses…

Moin Forum, for half a year I have been reading here and this forum has indirectly confirmed to me that there are certainly reasons against a Volvo, but these are null and void once you have sat in one and made a test ride 😉 Reason enough to fit into the tradition of the new ideas. So since April a new one purrs through Dresden: Volvo V70 D5 Kinetic (BJ. 2005), of course black, 163hp, bought with 133T km, DPF retrofitted. My first Volvo, but as a teacher you must inevitably land there… 😉 After the first thousand kilometers and a hundred times parking, the sweatdrops that the captains of ocean giants have had when they have controlled their cruise ship by seas and channels and deviates from a souly grin, for many years to have found a faithful companion. Problems the Elch also likes to solve: I also had the problem of the “exploding handbrake”, which is described very well in this forum. Thanks to a full new discount at the test ride:-) I had to find out the limits of my car’s maintenance – since I had to say it all about the latest!

  • XC90 MY05 down from MY04

Hello! I just brought my V8 to the master to regulate some things and have the WEBASTO installed. I talked to him and also talked about the other seats in the new model. He confirmed that some of the model year 2004 to 05 has changed, not necessarily for the better! My impression that the seat heating warmed up with my “old” XC90 up to high to the shoulders and the V8 doesn’t have that anymore, true. The mats for the seat heaters are shorter in the MY05. Why?? Quiet smile of my master. Also the seat adjustments have changed… apparently that had to be according to some EU standard!! With the term “EU” I think nothing is impossible!! That the electronic problems could not but increase, is perhaps explained by the new networking of the bus with optical fiber. And the radio unit and climate unit should be almost ZUSAMMEN the computer heart of the XC90, over which everything is programmed, but that the 50 computers are installed also by various manufacturers… and VOLVO to look at the same time not to be able to keep up with all the innovations, but to be able to satisfy the customers!

  • Xc90 + Webasto-sh: Funny!!??

XC90 + Webasto-SH: Funny!!? Hello, just wants to get rid of what I have just learned! As you know, this week I get my WEBASTO floor heating installed with display remote control. (date: Thursday morning) Some MTlers have posted here that their dealers see problems with the installation of this floor heating. After I have just asked my master (who installs the thing) why other VOLVO dealers would be able to resist, he only grinned and confirmed that!! Reason: You need from VOLVO a certain software to get the Webasto or EberspĂ€cher to run with the FB! Now come on: This software does not get every dealer!!! Only chosen with a certain turnover and certain prerequisites have the code, the required software from the computer in Göteburg to get off the “patients”_auto? then he says! So also tips from him how he already builds the thing will help!! He says that the respective auto must be connected to the whole COMPUTER?

  • V70 Shelf life

Hello guys, be on the verge of ordering me a new car and be faced with the choice of agony. On the wish list next to BMW 525d (Limo) and Audi A6 2.7TDI (Limo) there is a V70 D5. The other two are too powerful for me as combos, so the V70 is the only car. I have only driven Audi (A4) and BMW (3er) so far and know that these cars don’t rattle after three years and 120TKM – how is that with Volvo. Do you have any experience with it? Thank you and maybe I’ll soon be part of the Volvo Society…

  • Keys not on keychain?

Hello, I got my V70 yesterday and read the manual yesterday evening (sometimes only flew over (-; ). To the key it says that you should not make the car key to a keychain with other metal keys. This would have adverse effect on the roadway lock and could cause you to start no more. How do you handle this? I actually only have two keys together with the AUto key. Does this or do I actually have to handle the Volvo key separately. How is it with aluminium (is also a metal)? On business trips with the plane I usually pour the key into my Rimowa suitcase. Best regards Matthias

  • New exclusive interior collection

Hello Volvoianer Was just a bit of a search on the Internet and I am there under volvocars.ch on new exclusive interior collection “Volvo Inscription” shot ! Unfortunately I somehow couldn’t get the direct link to post – you find the Flash page but below right “Volvo Inscription”:http://de.volvocars.ch/ My personal favorite is the combination Linen White/Offblack! What do you mean? Does something so unusual, if yes, what would you order? So I find these new interiors very appealing and think that it really upgrades our already special vehicles! Greetings Daniel, who can’t get tired anymore *lechz*

  • LĂ€usepipi versus CrossCountryMobil

After my 26-month-old XC70 for the second time with the friendly is a warning: LĂ€usepipi is stronger than Volvo window lifter. My XC 70 stands about every second night under an oak and is now sometimes “sticky”. He is washed 1x the week. After last week the right front window lifter has passed under loud cracks and smiles and I have waited an hour at Volvo for the supposed repair only 2 days later with the (between washed) car the same thing happened to me. And on the left side “sucks” the disk also likes the seal (I will then not let the window down further). Now I wait for the repair and am curious who should pay. My dealer finds: my fault, LĂ€usepi breaks Volvos. I find: from my beloved All-terrain-All-Weather-All-Road-venture vehicle for about 50.000 E I can expect that the window lifters also work in the case of pollution. What do you think that happened?
