  • Ignition lock defective?

Hello, since today at noon works in my V70 D5, EZ 01.2002, the ignition lock no longer works. Keys can be turned nut just before Pos. 1, then it’s over. Light in the car is still on and steering wheel lock can still be unlocked, but that’s it. Any ideas? Gruss Mike_v70

  • Where are the electronics professionals? Steering wheel problems

Hey all together, my XC 90 (185ps, 2007) is having trouble again. Error picture: At first a lot of times the turn signal went off. At one time the turn signal did not go at all. In addition, the keys on the steering wheel (Cruise, luter/leiser, etc.) all failed. All buttons on the left turn signal switch do not work (read, info, main light). At the right wiper only the front wiper goes. Rear windscreen wiper, splash water etc. do not go. I read here in the forum a post that it goes to I changed both switches + the module (without steering angle sensor, see picture in the appendix). In addition all contacts and plugs properly and several times with contact spray pushed through. Safety of the steering wheel module (5A) is in order. Unfortunately the problem is still there! Without driving a flasher is not so cool … Someone’s idea? Thank you for your help and greetings, Jones

  • XC90 laminated glass or tinted panes?

I know this has already been discussed in another Fred. But here perhaps under different optics: I have just ordered an XC90 2.5T. With the moose the rear side windows should be dark tinted like the rear window. This is possible as an option. Now I have read in MT several times, however, that it is preferable to use the variant laminated glass panes and then tint by means of foil. This has advantages for noise development and one can save oneself the alarm system ….. My Fre ander means: – laminated glass clearly brings something, thicker panes, foil, other disc guides, other rubbers and better against theft than alarm system … – tinted panes at the rear bring something in temperature but, tint with foil remains Bastlerei (blases, optics, quality, etc.)!!!??? So, how are your experiences with the tint foils? Thank you for your help!!

  • S60 D5 with AWD, is that it?

Moin people, I have been offered an S60, which is supposed to have all-wheel drive. It is the D5 with 163hp, year 03, with climate car, leather, Navi, Xenon etc. Almost full equipment I would think!? The car has run almost 37,000KM. Now I have a few questions: 1. Is there the D5 at all with AWD? (New I can not configure the on the Volvo side!) 2. What pollutant class does the Bj.03, is it still EU3, or already 4? 4. What can the car cost in your opinion? seriously insert my V40 for the S60….although I have mixed feelings, because with the V40 I am very satisfied and with the S60 D5 you can read about a few problems (turbo hoses burst etc.)

  • S80T6 Shelf life experience

Dear MTler, on a given occasion, I would like to ask all S80 drivers – preferably those who drive a T6 to express themselves here in the sense of a survey: Type, if not T6 (S80 is mandatory) Year of construction/model year mileage so far Fzg. new or used bought previous repairs _except_ wear and maintenance quality impression satisfaction in general Please be so nice and only return this data if possible. I would like to take advantage of this thread once again. As soon as there is a reasonable number of answers, they should be discussed in a follow-up thread. Please do not reply if you do not travel S80… Thank you for your participation…. Best regards Steve

  • Deficient leather at the XC 90

Since June 2004 I have called an XC 90 D5 with leather equipment then Premium, in reality this type of leather is the lowest drawer. The car now has a kilometer stand of 39560 and is only 1 year and 9 months old and in the folds which logically form on the seat the colour/painting detachs from the leather. The leather looks like such a shit, so my neck bursts especially when a gentleman’s name is removed; oli of Volvo Cars Germany wants to tell me the It’s completely normal. I think they’ve never seen real leather before. Yes, it’s still possible!!!! Before that, the gentleman’s name has moved away; oli from the Krull company in Hamburg-Altona, where I had also looked at the car newly bought and also wanted to present to me this weak lady that it’s completely normal that the color/painting in the wrinkles can calmly dissolve. I wonder what are these for weak-heads, you still have to remember that also the gentleman’s name is removed; oli, Mr’s name is removed; ol i and Mr. name removed; oli from the company Bröhan (Volvo dealer) from Jork near Hamburg and the company Hoppe also (Volvo dealer) from Norderstedt have looked at the leather. And both dealers meant the leather must be exchanged, because there is a lack. But Volvo rejects it. Very great guarantee, with the guarantee of Volvo you can only wipe your ass. A car has cost times 50000,- €, so who wants to see real shot leather can see the scrap of Vol vo likes to look at me. By the way, I certainly don’t buy a Volvo anymore, because you fooled me in leather or shit. Have fun with Volvo!!!

  • Question on tint film

Hello together, I had my V70 glued with tinting foil in a factory 8 weeks ago. Today I was there again, because in my opinion I still found some points, i.e. air bubbles. One or two slices were re-glued, the remaining slices were “treated”. QUESTION: If one can realistically demand an absolutely bubble-free (great word) work – thus comparable with a factory tint, or one has to re-glue with isolated small dots. chnen? Greetings Oliver

  • V 70 D5 Does VOLVO also build Monday cars?

Hello Elchfans, I’ve been driving a V 70 D5 since May 2006 and it makes me feel like I’ve caught a “mountain car”. In the beginning there were only small things, clips that loosened under the sky, rattling belt rolls everything not bad and to fix, but with a car of this price class very annoying. Then “stuttered” the engine, 2 days workshop, car keef again – explanation: software problem ?!? On a longer motorway stage, with timing pressure, stutter power drop – but gl a little bit in the bad luck, the Volvo workshop is right near the highway, the friendly master takes the car with him, calls the local workshop and finds the error contact at the injection nozzle loose, or so similar. But now, Rosenmontag 30 tkm inspection, at pickup – “Your car loses oil, the servo pump also, you have to come back again, maybe the engine has to be replaced completely. Did you have similar experiences? Many greetings Bukaroo Banzai

  • V70R

Hallihallo! My intention is to buy a 09/2003er, to bring it to a usable stand and to use it as a everyday car. V70R, because my uncle was allowed to borrow for a short time the one from a friend around 2005 and took me with him naturally, thus a great childhood reminder for me! Furthermore, I find Volvo as a brand in itself breathtaking and am a huge fan, if you want to say so. I am born Austrian and therefore much in the flatlands as well on Bergstr I’ve been researching a V70R 2.5L gasoline engine for the last 2-3 months, but I can’t find anything useful online. KM performance is about 15-20k a year. So here are my questions for you! 1. What would be a fair price for the purchase? 2. Are there standard problems, which often occur? 3. What does it cost to repair them? 4. Are there rust problems like many Fords from the time? 5. Equipment you should pay attention to? e.g. cup holder goes easily 6. For the long-term owners: Does he pay for the purchase cost/maintenance costs? Thank you in advance for your answers, suebi
