How much volts do you charge (Volvo) alternators?
Good day, dear motor talkers! My battery indicator shows that the alternator charges between 13,5V and 13,9V. When the interior light is switched on, this flickers every now and then. Can I guess that my alternator will soon give up its spirit? Thank you! Til

V70 Diesel – buy with a lot of mileage?
Hi, I’ve been reading here for a while, but I’m not sure about buying a V70. What I’m writing are all impressions, I don’t have a real idea of cars. I pay attention to seriousness when choosing the dealers – I can estimate that to some extent. The price frame allows me – either a passat TDI ~2 years old with ~50 TKM (there are several offers – probably leasing resetters) – V70 Diesel 163 HP ~3 years with ~150 TKM The Volvos saw with many KM ste ts good off, but 150 are already much more than 50 and a 2 year old passat also has no obvious quirks. Can you recommend a vehicle that already has ~150 TKM down, but all that just ran on the autbahn? Which wear symptoms come to me in the next few years? On the other hand: Is a passat with 50 TKM the better choice in the medium term, because the quality of Volo makes a subjectively good impression? Many greetings, rawaho

XC 90 2.5 T – Consumption
Hello everyone in the forum, I need a tip, at least a bit nice response: for about three weeks I have had my new XC 90 2.5 T. Up to now I have covered about 1,000 km with it, especially in urban traffic, once longer “over land”. Everything is nice, except for the consumption of the fuel! If the consumption measurement is correct – from which I assume – the average consumption is 16.5 L/100 km, tendency is rising!! Of course I know that this vehicle is not a savings box, but the h I’m not expecting it now. I’m one of the quiet drivers and I don’t have a hectic driving style. Can the consumption still fall after a “return time”? Does it have to be adjusted a bit differently? What consumption do I have to adjust to in the long term with the engine? I hope for useful hints, although according to my impression the 2.5 T is only represented here in the forum. The diesel seems to be quite clearly in the majority. Thank you for every answer Ralph ( who looks every day at the prices of gasoline with sorrows)

What kind of engine oil do you have in your turbo fuel?
Hi, I’d like to know what kind of oil you’ve got in your petrol tank. The background is, I’ve had 5W40 fully synthetic for ages. Now I’ve just got 5W30 partially synthetically in the customer service department, more precisely: Mobile super FE special “5W 30”. Why don’t I know, I guess you just had the ton there, because the workshop is now part of Ford and this oil is especially for Ford engines. However, the very little turbo gasoline on offer… Since my V70 is more and more often imm he more oil brewed I’m a little sensitized about this topic. Just write what you have in it for a moment. Removable trailer coupling for V70II
Hello dear friends of the motor-talk, after a red light lighter has caused my first V70 a fast end – for me without pain, probably next week comes the new V70. Since the old had the original V70 clutch, and I did not like it so much, I would like to install one of Westfalia (Best. Nr. 320 050) F1: Has someone ever installed it? F2: There seems to be something cut out in the not visible area, doesn’t it? Then I thought about the e-set specific aisch 13 pollig Blinkaufwachung über Summer! No activation required! Q3: Has someone ever installed this, if yes the part is ok and easy to install? F4 Is there a cheaper provider than Rameader? F5: Does someone use for original clutch, only what you can take off is still available Suitable for Bj.03 and everything that is identical. Offers please by PN to me. Best regards, Andi : )

ipod nano for xc90 MY2006
sorry have found me now a few hours through the whole ipod threads still no clear answer. what possibility is there for an xc90 model year 2006 to connect an ipod nano (1st generation) to the hifi system? my volvo has no navi and no rti. an fm transmitter solution I had tested before is qualitative but not so good. actually I thought you only need to plug a cable between aux and ipod and already the thing would have to be over the steering wheel can be controlled?! So at least loud/leise/skip. volvo himself has referred me to a workshop where I get an adapter for a proud 360 euro with which I think I get only loud/leise and skip. seems completely overpriced. what do I do now? what possibilities are there for an xc90 my06? maybe not one of the ipod experts will enter his infos in elchwiki.org ? many thanks in advance, leif

Q: new summer tyres for S80
Hey! I doubt the search function here… I’m sure something has already been written about it, but I always get a big nix displayed as a search result… Well then, I’m looking for a set of new summer tires (215/55 R16 V) for my S80 and wondering which tire is recommended. I’m of course looking for the egg-legging woolen milk sow, i.e.: the tire may be cheap, but must in all cases be very safe, quiet, comfortable on wet and dry road and should also be If he is economical in fuel consumption, this is of course no disadvantage… So, are there any other factors that exclude each other? The tests always say something different, sometimes the Pirelli P7, sometimes the Bridgestone Potenza (what’s stupid name) of the top riders, etc… What for me absolutely is not possible: Continental (this has more political reasons; who wants to dismiss workers to produce in the East Europe I don’t want to do that, because most of them don’t do so well in the tests and if, then mostly only in a few, few areas. And last but not least: “brands” à la Barum, Pneumant & Co. also have rather less chances with me, be it because they belong to Continental or even just because they are mostly the ones that are the ones that are the most important ones. the old profiles of their parent companies… Is there any tyre recommendation left for me now?! Tack så mycket! Hej då, Dirk

Is the S80 really so cheap built…
…that he doesn’t have trunk lighting??? I can’t believe it yet. I used the trunk for the first time in the dark today and if nothing was forgotten when my car was assembled, then there’s probably no light provided. How stupid are the designers. I could do without the footroom lighting and illuminated make-up mirrors, but in the trunk? Maybe I’m just too spoiled, but with an Opel Kadett that was standard 20 years ago, in every case I don’t even have a Volvo S80 on the extra charge list. I rarely felt so fucked up. I probably shouldn’t even look into the glove compartment. Marcel

VOLVO sales figures continue to rise
Hello together, didn’t want to be inactive and have also made my contribution to the VOLVO sales figures in a sacrificial way. Do you get the Bundes-Verdienst-Kreuz for this? With so much civilian courage this should already be in there? Have now also put my Servus under an XC90 D5 (MY’06). That was even the easier exercise, but that wait until mid-September borders on torture. Do you have any medical advice on how to survive this time best? and and a model 1:18 I have already tried, helps in the morning but max. one hour. In the evening I drive on the way home extra 500m detour to see three streets further a DickElche live, then calms again for one to two hours. But the rest of the day is the purest horror. Greetings to all waiting sufferers, Dominik
