For a week I have been reading about the phenomenon of fluttering while braking. It seems that there are many reasons for this. I can exclude drawn brake discs and rented chassis parts. I have a winter tyre set with a maximum of 3mm profile on it, even a few years old. Up to 110 kmh it vibrates easily on the steering wheel, after that strong braking. An imbalance with wheels is only noticeable at a certain speed range. s the flatter problem after changing to new wheels away is fixed? I will have to drive on these wheels for about a month but the topic is already wurming me. Has anyone had a similar experience with their brakes? LG

VOLVO S80 2.4 (KBA number: 9101-803), different models of climate compressor installed???
Dear Elk-Fans, the climate compressor of my VOLVO S80 (B5244S, 170 HP, manual circuit, EZ 07/99) is dead. I bought a used climate compressor from a “slaughtered” S80 (also B5244S, EZ 10/2004) and delivered it as a spare part to the workshop. This morning I was informed by the car master that this replacement compressor “from the pattern” does not fit my vehicle. At this point I would like to ask if the S80 of the first generation different models of climate compressors sor – depending on the year of production – were installed. If so, which models could I use with my old moose? For your answer I thank you in advance.

V70II: Automatic gearbox from diesel to turbo petrol
Hello to the Volvo-experienced screwdrivers here in the Volvo Forum, due to a very probable transmission defect on my Volvo V70 II, EZ 2002, 2.0 Turbo with Aisin Warner gearbox AW55-50SN, I have become aware of a used transmission in the net that originally came from a V70II diesel. Can anyone confirm that this transmission fits into the Baby Turbo petroler? The following numbers are noted on the type plate of the new (used) transmission on the type plate: AW5 5-50 SN, series No.: 01LV713557, another no.: 8567-365 The numbers on my current, probably defective gearbox: AW55-50 SN, series No.: 02EV729727, another no.: 8636-762 The Volvo dealer here from the area wraps himself in silence, maybe it is too much work for him to check that, maybe he just can’t or doesn’t want to say anything, because he wants to sell a new one, which is not possible (time value of the vehicle), a overhaul yes also 280€ plus cost et. I would be very pleased to get a few answers from knowledgeable Volvo Specis, which will help me with this problem, because the car slowly costs nerves and above all, a lot of money. Yes, I know Volvo driving is not cheap… I’m happy to get it, but it still has to stay within reasonable framework.

D5 starts worse
Tach! My V70 has never been really intoxicating, but maybe that’s normal for the machine, no matter. But for two weeks it has started worse, you have to org a little longer than normal. If the vehicle is longer or cold. I can’t say exactly what is true now because of the quite high external temperature. The injectors are fine. Volume correction, return quantities and cylinder speed within the tolerances. The glow candles are fine. It’s empty. Fuel filter? I don’t know how old it is, but if it was, it would always have to be with the worse jump-in… Someone an idea? Thank you…

XC90 V8 – would need little advice / help – stand before purchase
Hello everyone, for the first time I find the posts in this forum very helpful and extremely good. I am an old Swede (brought up in Sweden), and family has decided (finally) to change the Toyota Avensis 2.2D Combi against a Volvo XC90. Since we will drive very few KM in the future, gasoline version for us is the preferred alternative, we just don’t like the D5 Diesel. (no open, but it’s just a matter of taste, if it were 320CDI engine of MB this would be We have at present two alternatives available, both private providers: 1) 05/2005 V8 Executive EU model with 134tKm, fully equipped for €16t. Black / black, complete checkbook, 8 times matured. 2) 07/2005 V8 Summum USA import (already five years ago) with 86tKm, also quite fully equipped for €15t. Silver / beige, complete checkbook., 8 times matured. Is there what we should / should be careful about, especially with the US import? (had the l Did hours read me here almost all the posts, especially with regard to automatic transmissions). Is it worth it / should one examine the car again at a test workshop? (I am not 100% known with the circumstances in Germany, have settled in Sweden and there are ADAC similar independent test stations) Another (dumb) question? Since private purchase, where do I finance the car best / easiest? (we live in Munich). We look at the cars at the end of next week, and w will probably make the decision then, so all contributions until then warmly welcome!! A thousand thanks in advance and Heja Sverige!

tank cover dropped
so I just got into the sense to drive car washing again and what happens? at the dry process there is once in the back right n light dull banging/noise… I don’t think about it anymore and drive out of the washing system, go around the car to fold out the mirrors again and see –> THE TANKDECKEL IS AT TROCKN’S FALL!!! O_o I of course right in front of the type of the cars with the Kärcher etc “pre-treated” and the problem described or demonstrated according to me I had my name and telephone number put in for the boss (which, of course, wasn’t there) with the statement of the “cleaner”: “the boss is in touch with you, everything will not worry…” now my fat guy is standing on the road with no tank lid… what I like at all… well, see if “chef” is coming in and how he is supposed to go on… even with 2 photos of my great tankdec kels

Oil change V70 II 2.5 D Vida or Haynes?
Hello! Checked out when the oil change occurs with the V70 II 2.5 D today. Vida told me that the oil change has to be made every 15,000 km. In the Haynes manual it says that the oil + filter should be changed every 8,000 km with the diesel (possibly they refer to the 2.4 D ???)? Should I change now at 10,000 km or how? The car has by the way already 300t down. Would be grateful for experiences or tips. Greetings

Heavy vibration at high speed/brakes
After very long abstinence I am back in the forum again, hope everyone is doing well… My meanwhile 9 year old moose is increasingly worrying me…I hope someone has the ignited idea what it can be about…… The symptoms: The Volvo drives on the BAB up to approx.160 km/h almost vibration-free starts then but with increasing speed up to approx.180 km/h strongly to shake up and down with the steering wheel, the whole steering column moves! Over it calms down, below it is the It’s even more intense when braking. Strong braking from high gears ( unfortunately happens quite often on the BAB ) makes the car almost non-driving, the steering column moves up and down and in the brake pedal is also a vibration to feel ( has nothing to do with the ABS stuttering, if someone wants to anticipate that, the brakes are not so violent 😉 ) Already replaced : 1. tyres / wheels 2. brake discs front ( 2 times ) + brake disc ben rear 3rd crossbars (the big trapezoidal handlebars) 4th trackbar heads left and right 5th engine suspension top 6th engine suspension bottom 7th wheel bearing Overpumps were also the stist dampers. I don’t know any more, it will soon all be new and the symptoms will remain. I would next replace the sockets of the auxiliary frame ? Can the clutch (ruffles slightly ) cause this symptoms ? Two-mass swing wheel ? My workshop also has only question marks left for me…. Who kan n help me ? Given thanks ! makeve

Reargate does not open, tank cover does not close!
I have a problem: the tailgate does not open (central locking) seems to be permanently locked – as if the actuator is not working. Furthermore, the tank cover lock does not close! I checked the fuse in the trunk! Seems to be fine (10A) Does tank cover and tailgate hang together as well? All other doors go? Does anyone know the problem? Thanks for help Jens

xc 70 – 185 ps now arrived!
Hello everyone! after a relatively short time of waiting, I have got my last week – my new xc 70 diesel with the 185 ps, gear shift! I want to give you my impression about this car after almost 2000 km (mainly highway). I want to send you that I have been driving two v 40 for almost 8 years, and the two weeks before I got my new one, with the xc 90 – benziner-automatic, my father was on vacation in the toscana. t to the xc 70: I’m thrilled about this car! the space offer also for my family of 4 sufficient in the suitcase room, in the inside room opposite the v40 of course unusual lot of space for everyone! the removal totally super – the 185 ps have done the car very well! I drove an xc 70 with the 163 ps, automatic before the purchase, now you can really say puncto acceleration are these two cars not to be compared! the xc 70 is of my opinion also from the inside noise level open In contrast to the previous version, I feel very quiet (after my long time v 40 time I feel that way). the track fidelity with grooves, unevenness etc is incomparably better than e.g. with the xc 90. super satisfied and impressed I am also by the audiosystem (hu 850) – pure sound! I have read contributions again and again in this forum because of the handshift – it is rough, difficult to switch etc. I can only say personally that the 6-speed handshift is perfect to switch, my perceived short switching paths and the walks go easily and simply fluff in! to the 6th gear I still have to get used to, that makes the gearshift for me still a little unfamiliar, but does all this work great (at least after 2000 km still). the average consumption is according to bc currently at 8,4 l, but that will probably change – at least I am also very happy with it – you also have corresponding in any case compared to the xc 90 of my father (fuel) with an average consumption of 14 l miles away. I hope to have given you some impressions – I am totally happy with the new xc 70 and am looking forward to every trip (likes to be childish, but is so…) dear greetings xc70fan
