  • 2.5T or 3.2-6-cylinder in S80 / XC90?

Dear Forum, since the new S60 is still waiting (if it comes at all), I have been informed by my dealer about the new S80 and the XC90. Both models are currently available with the well-known gasoline engine 2.5T with 200 hp (or 210 hp) and will be delivered with the new 3.2-6 cylinder and approx. 240 hp from 2007 onwards. The sales consultant now said that the 2.5T engine would be replaced by the 6 cylinder, i.e. the 2.5T would be completely removed later. Can I not imagine, however, that the gasoline starter models only started with 240 hp. Normally the engine pallets are rounded down rather to the bottom. Unfortunately, I have not found anything in the forum yet. Does anyone have any more information? Do you think that waiting for the 6 cylinder would be worthwhile?

  • The new V70 in ams

The V70 III, which is based on the new S80, is to be launched in 2007. It should have the same engine range (i.e. up to 4.4 liters V8), whereby a charged version of the 3.2 liter 6-cylinder should push the future V70R. Up to B-pillar it should be identical to the S80! You will see… Ulli

  • PÖL Elsbett Experiences 2.4D/D5?

Hi guys, I’ve been working on converting my S60 2.4D to vegetable oil for a long time. The only ones who have a lot of experience with common-rail engines are the company Elsbett. The company has been around for quite a long time and also makes such a serious impression on me. Nevertheless, I would be interested if there is Volvisti here, who have converted 2.4D or D5 with Elsbett to vegetable oil and how the experiences are like that. Thank you in advance!

  • Which maximum wide tires for the XC90

Which maximum wide tires are approved as standard on the XC90 (without further bodywork)? And how does this work with the combination with track-widening/distance discs (e.g. 30 mm)? Thank you for your tips.

  • Financing costs Volvo – are they insane?

I’ve been driving an S60 T5 since the end of 2002. Actually, after about 75,000 km, I’m fully satisfied with the car. The only nerve for me is the size of the trunk. When it comes to transporting something bigger, I prefer to go back to my wife’s Gulf. So I love the V70 T5. Since a new Volvo dealer opened up in my city two weeks ago, I thought: ask for current conditions and, if necessary, for opening offers. First shock: value of my car (absolutely top maintained): 15TEuronen (dealer purchase price) – purchase price about 45TEuronen – well: you have to live with it if you buy a new car. Second shock: financing offer of Volvobank: 7,29 % effective annual interest rate Are those because of the madness? Do the buyers want to gruesome themselves. We expect in about one year with a new model and then these conditions. There is BMW currently at 5er cheaper. Has someone financed recently at Volvo and will get better conditions? I would not be able to buy it over 250.

  • Autobild Article Chiptuning

The current car image warns against the chip tuning of diesel engines. A VW Golf TDI with 140 hp (probably PD) was tuned by several suppliers. All tested devices were in common that engine and particle filters were heavily loaded. In two cases, the soot output was twice as high as in the series car, which destroys the filter permanently. Also on the exhaust turbocharger too high temperatures arose, which can lead to engine damage. So nevertheless “Finger away from diesel chipping” ??? Greeting Roland, who is still not sure whether he should let his future XC90 D5 with Heico chipping…

  • S40 instead of S60 as a workshop car

Hello forum, today I have to get rid of my impressions of the S40. Have an S40 monumentum as a replacement for my S60. First impression: that’s small… Second impression: I wouldn’t have thought that this is so small… positive: – large trunk – very good steering – good suspension, very agile – no clapping – good engine sound (2.4) – good legroom at the back – relatively quiet – hardly wind gypsy – good switches, levers and buttons – good automatic negaiv: – very narrow – miserable shelves at the front – catastrophic sound system, no sound tones – too short seats – too loud blower – no isofix – very small boot opening – interior design contradictory (my opinion) – cheap material for the dashboard – middle armrest too deep placed – engine sounds stronger than it is – too high consumption for the driving performance Conclusion: too small, too weak and incomplete interior design … I needed to get rid of… lg dipsy

  • V70-II: Punished feathers even without lowering ???

I’ve been driving a V70-II, 2,4T, Bj. 00. Before that, I had a V40 with H&R springs, because the car was originally too high-legged – especially on the front axle. After the installation of the H&R springs also a much better road position was added to the harmonious look. At the V70 I have now no optical problem, but one with the road position of the car. It just floats too much, after various ground waves it sets the rear axle as if the car had a rigid axle like a truck. It is probably so that I also have to miss this car harder springs, so that it finally becomes more stable. (after I probably still wanted to get a BSR-PPC – but so hard on this road situation? I don’t like to get a better look?

  • Flashed…

Hello, yesterday it happened again,I was flashed for the third time in 28years In a beautiful wide forest avenue I wanted to whistle the turbocharger briefly ,there I see a red old Ford Escort tournament at the road side….Zaaaapf did it and I was almost blind ,because I had looked in full the lightning. Short view on the speedo showed just over 70KM/H. – I turned to see if you can talk to the driver, but no one had been overwhelmed in the vehicle!!! The trunk was unfortunately too, otherwise I would have now a new chambera May that be so,or must always be a flasher sitting in the vehicle? Or is such a mobile stration also considered a rigid box? What cost about 20KM/H over 50?! Human now I’m smooth to the frenzy, but it was summer 7 degrees and the birds intertwined their song (hopefully not their last) that had just made fun again, until the time of the greeting point of Martin Martin’s Martin’s Martin.
