  • Schwabbeltronic??

Love Volvisti Again and again I read in the different threads the word “Schwabbeltronic”, which has something negative in itself and probably stands for the Geartronic… Can anyone explain why this term was coined for the very good Automatic in my opinion? I have had many automotive products with Automatic over the past 30 years (yes, that’s how old I am) but no automatic was as perfect as the Geartronic of my last S60 T5 and my current V50 T5…

  • New prices of the V70 (MJ 06)

Hello oil-feeding moose drivers, my friend let me look at his PC screen yesterday… I noted the prices of the diesel versions in momentum equipment: V70 2.4D (126 hp) (incl. RPF, Euro4) € 36,340,- V70 2.4D (163 hp) (incl. PPF, Euro4) € 37.790,- V70 D5 (185 hp) (incl. PPF, Euro4) € 38.540,- V70 2.4D AWD Automatic (163 hp) (Euro 3) € 40,300,- V70 D5 AWD (incl. RPF, Euro4) € 39,650,-) Brochures and price lists should have been available last week (KW18) – but they are not. Greeting, Ulli

  • XC90 D5 vs BMW X5 3.0

Now that I have more than 5,000 km on the watch of my new XC90 D5, in the meantime I was able to drive the V8 with enthusiasm, I had the opportunity today to shy away the good old BMW X5 with the 3.0d machine over 100 km country road. First it is clear with again what a WANDERDÜNE is – the BMW on the other hand a miracle of agility, driving stability, driving performance and driving fun. Although I find the XC90 significantly more beautiful, you must not compare the two vehicles with regard to FAHREN, because then would not be a single XC90 on the roads. I think the X5 3.0d can be compared to the V8 – at least subjectively: the engine is not louder, the agility comparable, the chassis is much safer and more stable. Only the new 6-speed automatic with the XC90 is, in my opinion, more spontaneous and simply better.

  • Consumption xc 70 / xc 90

Moin on all sides, ride for 4 years relatively satisfied a V 70 diesel. The consumption inspires me to this day. (Had previously a G 300 D, a drama, not only in terms of consumption). I have never had an average consumption of more than 8 liters to 100 km despite a relatively fast drive. At least not after a board computer. But I would like to have a new one. Either it will have an XC 70 or an XC 90. I have both had a test drive. The 90-er has also been enthusiastic, was only compared to the 70-er brutally slappy motorized. Will now probably change with the new engine. Hopefully!? However, I noticed that the 90-er according to the onboard computer consumes strikingly more than indicated. But it was also a brand new car (500 km on Tacho). Since I drive 40,000 km a year, the consumption already plays a role for me, and not least mentally. Can you tell me your experiences with the consumption of the XC 70 and XC 90. And what also interests me, as the difference between automatic and manual switching is. Thank you for your effort and greetings from Hannover Thomas

  • Performance V70 2.4D and 6-speed question

Hello everybody, I would be interested in your experience with the 2.4D machine at the V70 as a (so far) non-Volvo driver. If I look at the weight of the vehicle, I assume that acceleration and elasticity are rather to be desired. Should one definitely prefer the D5? Also : Is there a six-speed gearbox at all with the V70 or is one limited to five gears? Thanks and greetings, Rob

  • Scratches in the paint

Hello, when I came to the car this morning, I thought a horse kicked me. A big scratch in the paint in the vicinity of the tank lid. Hardly the aluminums on it and car washed fresh, the idiots come to light… Question: Has one of you ever had experience with the paint doctor, and with what costs do I have to reckon with? Gruss, Dirk

  • XC90 – Armrest spared back?

Hello together while I’m thinking about the choice of decorative inserts (here) I didn’t want to keep the following question from you: On some pictures (e.g. in the Swiss XC90 catalogue; image source media.volvocars.com) upholstered armrests can be seen in the rear doors, as well as ventilation nozzles in the C-pillars (without separate air conditioning for the third row). But the exhibition vehicles of my dealer didn’t have either. Did Volvo save anything from MJ to MJ as with the seat heating mats? Greetings Christoph

  • XC90 is here, but…

There he is now in the garage, the big guy. But what is that?, a twelve-man without antlers Did Volvo really forget the railing! Incredibly, I drive the only XC90 without antlers now?? Who ordered that? Man,man..man Next week is retrofitted. Otherwise a great car, everything works great and it looks fantastic in magic-blue. The 6-speed manual transmission is fantastically good (better than in my V70) and the passage in the middle speed range is just right for relaxed cruising. After having said a lot of negative things about the seats, I can’t confirm this. I have no problems with the headrest and also the seat area is almost optimal for me. However, the seats are also not quite steeply upright. The side support is worse than in my V70, but with the XC90 you will not drive any extreme bend speeds at all. The Navi works, but often wanted to pilot me from the highway with the hint “traffic problem?” , although everything was free and the headrest of 24 km does not exist at all.

  • Help yourself – repair instructions

Hello parishioners! Do you actually give a guide for the XC 90, how to unscrew the car and that is so that I can put it back together again? In the area VW and Audi etc, there are such sure (they also have it more necessary than we do) but seriously: I don’t want to bend any hidden fixing points or tear off plastic parts just because I want to lay a cable (e.g. for the rear cam ) and because my thick ship will be brand new, I have a pronounced bite – uh tear barrier. Does anyone know what in this direction or does it only work with these mysterious CD ́s that have been mentioned somewhere? lG Richard over 4000 hits at the “Feindbild-fred” that already has something father of the same
