    We are approaching the ominous KW 16 rapidly: Does anyone have any news about the new D5 or the OceanRace models? The price list is now, 2 weeks before the supposed orderability of the D5, yes still as of January. And also the link to the new Belgian price list, which was already on the net, no longer works (or I’m too stupid)… strange?!

  • Handbrake crumbles again!

    Now also my 4th moose has the handbrake in the bucket! At the back left the handbrake has broken up! I bought the car (V70 D5, EZ 04/2007) 7 months ago from the Volvo dealer and asked him whether the handbrake is ok. What he of course is yes. Well: I also have a car guarantee. But they certainly don’t get up for that, what? I just called the dealer, they are talking about it now and they’re coming up! I’m curious! What does that cost again! I forgot! Should you do both sides?? Thank you!

  • Strange Vulcanis 19 inches rim.

    I’ve already done a thread this time, because now the question has become concrete again, here again: I bought a set of 19 inch wheels for our XC90, used, from the intermediary (ebay) who can say nothing (or wants to) about the origin in hindsight. These rims have a designation 30635721 or 30635722, 8Jx19x49, Borbet-Germany, Volvo. After marking and also appearance quite clearly a silver “vulcanis” for the XC90. However, the rims have a centerhole diameter of 63,4 milimeters. The XC90 has 67,1mm. Ergo: They don’t fit on it. Midholes have not been reworked, that looks completely original. Was therefore only now with the dealer, after that with the TÜV. No one can make a rhyme on it. Finally, there is no other than to use the rims by single take-off at the XC70 or XC60 in the future, but I would have liked to know how this coming together. Does anyone have any idea? P.

  • V70 D5 – rear breaks out sideways

    I’m not sure that I’ve had the feeling that the rear of our V70 D5 185 PS MY2007 (no AWD; without level control) is going to be in danger of breaking out sideways even with smaller ground waves or adequate unevennesses.   • Luggage compartment reversing mat

    Hello everybody has the luggage locker mat for the XC90? I think about buying one for my 7-seater. On the one hand, I want to cover the holes in the trunk floor with the 7-seater, so that small things can’t fall in there, and on the other hand, to protect the trunk floor. I often have snowboards in the trunk in winter, which tend to scratch all the plastic parts and freeze them with snow remnants on the textile surfaces. So far, so good. But now I’m unsure whether this turning mat is so practical. I don’t question the basic function (“mat that you can turn around”, but can you use the partition wall of the carrying bag holder with the mat in the trunk? What if you still have the mesh bag sideways in the luggage compartment? Do you have to “wind” the mat under it every time?” And if you need the third row spontaneously, you can roll up the part of the mat that is in the way somehow or something like that?

(delivery in Dec., registration in January). It will be an XC90 D5 summum with GT and without telephone. You can take the further equipment from my signature (yes, boah how boring, looks like before ! Well and ? ) Since I have been following this forum for quite a long time, I was able to choose my own equipment.   • First driving report XC 90 D5 185 HP with Geartronics

    So, yesterday I picked up the jam and drove a good 600 km (Heimweg) of it about 50% highway, 20% city (cross through HH) rest highway I only had the direct comparison to the V70 D5 with Geartronik 163 hp. Engine: runs less vibration and around a lot quieter (maybe also due to the better insulation) sound: is a completely different than in the V70, sounds much duller and more displacement force-folding: even on the first, gently driven kilometers you do not have the impression to be undermotorized, has down proper force Geartronik: switches buttery soft and very confident; no trace of nervousness as it was described there and there at the V8. Have had the engine up to now only to about 3000 rpm, on the AB approximately 160 km/h – this tempo he looks almost himself – and that quite fast consumption: route as written up, on the AB between 130 and 160 km/h; city and country road to fast consumption display an average of 9.6 hours pleasantly the sound time has to be told.
