  • Ex-BMW driver has now switched to Volvo – and has a couple of questions…

Hello everyone, I would like to introduce myself briefly, since I will certainly look past here several times in the future 😉 My name is Matthias, 25 years old and recently proud owner of a 2002 Volvo V70 Bi-Fuel “Premium” with currently 98tkm on the clock. As my nickname already says, I was connected to the BMW warehouse before – but as I am convinced of driving with natural gas, and my girlfriend has been driving a BMW 316g Compact with natural gas for a long time, we decided to buy a second gas car. So far I am very satisfied with the Volvo (but I also drove only 500 km) – but I already have the first error message in the display: “Bremsassist – Maintenance required” The message comes only sporadically (until now 3x). I have seen when switching to the winter tires that the brake pads are due soon – has that possibly to do with it, or are it the “sensitive sensors”? And now my next question could tell me which CD Wechsler to fit to the Volvo Radio HU 603. I have already offered to me an Ebay too expensively for me.

  • Service costs XC90

Good evening, everyone! I bought an XC90 diesel from a Volvo dealer in the southern NÖ, Mödling, and I am very happy. Today the car came to the obligatory service at 20000 km. Before the service I have still not filled the storage tank of the washing machine up to the go with disk cleaner. In the evening I brought the car and see: 1 lit disc cleaner by 2.64 0.5 lit cooling liquid by 1.95 filter insert by 13.80, seal by 1.56 and filter by 52,– Euro, beside oil, plugging on winter bikes and rental car in total at least 519,14 Euro. If I had not filled up the disk cleaner, the rest would not have occurred to me. The mechanic said, when testing, the guys in the workshop certainly consumed a liter. Can I in a year at all 0.5 lit KÜhlfluid plus Wassser lose? If then the dealer is still close because of the opinion computer, what should I keep from a workshop, which rented me by 35 Euro and when the transfer says: Sprit is still able to leave the station or leave the station?

  • Normal dealer service?

Hello, I ask myself if the following thing is normal: Sunday evening the window lifter gives up his spirit with my new V70 (EZ 05/03) and pushes the disc about 10 cm outwards. Fast action can force the disk back into the lead. However, this disk does not hold properly. On Monday my dealer in the Ruhr area repaired the window lifter. It now works perfectly. However, on the way home it turned out that my inner covering was damaged. No one said anything. An immediate mail with photo brought no improvement on Tuesday, a new mail on Wednesday already. There the boss explained to me that the server had failed because of the heat. Can happen, a mistake not to report. An exchange date for mid-September was agreed because the vacation time is at the door. Today he called me, said I should come at 10.00 clock, then they would make the exchange immediately. Wouldn’t it take ten minutes. When I was at 10.00 clock before the arrival, the acceptance master explained that it was breakfast break, I should have only had a coffee. After an hour’s waiting time I had been told to repeat the car ride.

  • Tank size V70D

  • Outdoor mirror vibrating

Something is wrong with the forum – gives timeout and creates only the subject… Hello, my V70 D5 has started vibrating since 03.03.03 and now I have a good 23000 km on it. What annoyed me all the time is the right mirror which starts to vibrate from 160 km/h or on bumpy roads accordingly earlier. at the last inspection I had it done – at least I thought. Unfortunately it was worse afterwards than before. On my call to the workshop the master told me that the mirror is movable in a bracket that was manufactured with too great tolerance. Volvo gave the instruction to all vehicles this problem occurs and the customers should complain about a foam rubber under the mirror to solve the problem. No nice way to solve a problem. Volvo is it simply too expensive to replace all the mirror engines (must be such a unit) and then cause them to be such a mess! What have you done for experience in this regard and gave it any help with you? Was the unit already completely changed – if you need to answer that?

  • Turn off DSTC/STC completely ?

in the last edition of the car magazine “mot” (heft 17+18, July 30, 2003) the S60R is tested and here you can read the following paragraph: “If it has to be or may be, the Swede is supposed to be able to sprint in only 5.7 seconds to speed 100. However, the tester needs much longer to completely switch off the ESP including traction control. Only with a certain key combination in the right range this is possible – here the Swedes have gone a step too far with their strong security awareness.” -> can the DSTC/STC be turned off now after all? supposedly only the STC can be deactivated. who has more infos, who knows this key combination ? here has been discussed before. gruesome ROman … who will never switch off his DSTC/STC 😉 PS: the test report does not speak for the S60R – 4C drive unit only brings little advantages; for forced driving the S60R is too difficult – no usable chassis setting for the long range (either too soft or too hard-circular)

  • Volvo S60 2.4 Bj 2005

Hello people I would have a question and that is how steadfast are the 2.4 engines with 140hp because the good one I would like to look at has run almost 150000km and a good execution (part leather Xenon cruiser and CD changer) it should cost 5000 Eur. Can you buy an S60 with such a mileage calmed and what flaws have these models.

  • Trailer coupling V70

The last trailer coupling thread from the XC90 makes some optical discomfort rise in me. Is the removable trailer coupling from Volvo on the V70 a similar “good” solution? Have I read somewhere in the forum, the bicycle carrier would rock, due to the removable ball head? What is it like with the cover, does it look really so ugly, does someone have a pic or a link? Who has experience with alternative solutions (other manufacturers)? E***embryo

  • Farewell to my 460s

Hello! Please help me! I have finally fulfilled my long-held dream and bought an S60, and what happens? Before I have my dream car, I mourn for my old 460s! We have also experienced a lot together, my red moose and me. My first car, bought with sore saved money and loved from the beginning. The most beautiful time with Him was in Finland, 7 months we spent there together. 2000 km only the way from Zurich to Helsinki and back. We met many beautiful Finns, and also at -30 degrees he didn’t let me down once! He was also a faithful soul, and that he stopped on the motorway last year was not his fault either. The alternator was just over… Well, slowly he comes into the years, 10 are now exactly, and the 145,000km you can already see him again. That’s probably just the desire for something new, elegant. That it will be a Volvo again, was never asked to worry about it. Well, now I’ll be able to say something about it elegantly.
