  • Driver’s seat cracks

    I have read about it here before, but I didn’t find a suitable Fred. With my XC70 it cracks slightly metallic from the bottom of the driver’s seat. It is clearly noticeable how the seat works with a quick change of direction or load and there is a cracking noise of itself. I had therefore already found my elk to the operating room with the friendly one. He of course found nothing and therefore could not fix the damage. My popometer still notices it and even my OHL has already noticed it (which also has something to mean). My elk is a MY2005 and therefore it is no longer like the predecessors (according to the friend’s statement), which was the previous reason for most noises in the seat. Has someone with a MY2005 similar experience? Has it been fixed with someone? Greeting Heiko

    I’m about to tell my friend my “special wishes” in terms of software settings with my new big guy. I can remember darkly that someone has already posted two (?) VADIS numbers here for unlocking the SH, but the search for it unfortunately didn’t lead me to the thread – does anyone else???Otherwise to recommend soptware tuning (except for the thing with the belt mold and the windscreen washing system)?

  • XC90 and Audi Q7 at the Essen Motor Show

    Volvo was not represented itself, but Heico with a beautiful XC90 in dark blue. Opposite was the huge Audi stand with 2 x Q7, one of them also in dark blue (as S-Line) and also a “Hingucker”. The concepts are jä similar: Raised SUV segment, all-wheel, but without reduction, three rows of seats and a lot of loading area. The Audi “wasted” for this over 5.00 meters. The Q7 looks, especially from the front, quite powerful and was much amazed. The sideline is less exciting. The quality impression of the interior equipment is at the level of a Touareg with special equipment, the seats in the two front rows of seats offer decent space (more seat area than in the XC90) and good side support. Also, you will find a little more leather in some places where the XC90 plastic has. Unfortunately, the seats in the third row are – similar to the Volvo XC90 – completely retractable and only what is suitable for shorter distances or smaller people. The ideal charging space is not suitable for the size of the XC90.

    Hello, with my detailed description of my installation of the TomTom One in our new XC90. Since I took a lot of photos, I had to take a PDF, otherwise the server would have crashed here 😉 With my description (with template) every handcrafted do-it-yourselfer should be able to rebuild it. I felt very good. Today in the sun (finally) there was no glare and I could still see everything. But even tonight in dark on night mode it does not blind at all. I am fully satisfied, even if my retractable installation did not work. Ciao, xc90newbie. Mist, file has 600 KB and can not be loaded up here. Who can help?

    Hello together, I hope no one bothers me if I make a little bit of anticipation here. I signed today the purchase contract for a 3 1⁄2 year old V70 2.4. I think, with a mileage of just over 70,000 km and a price of not quite 14,000, – I really can not have done much wrong. At least not when I read about this model like this here. Now I am already happy like a snow king on Saturday, when I can pick him up. Toi, toi, toi, hopefully he proves to be the trouble-free car I hope for in the first years.   • V70 – no brake wear indicator?

    Hello dear Volvo community, please clarify again an ignorant Ex BMW driver. Can it be that my V70 Bifuel has no brake wear indicator? My brake / HA is almost down and I am the opinion when changing on winter tires to have seen no sensor on the brake lining. Also in the operating instructions nothing else is mentioned (warning lights in the instrument etc.) I can not imagine it, even bein 92er Renault 19 Cabrio had a warning light for the brake pads!?

  • Accident with XC90 – after 11 days !!!

This includes, for example, an accident with a brand new XC90… In my case, it happened on Saturday evening, when a friendly camper driver took the lead. I had my XC90 exactly 11 days at this time !!! I don’t need to describe what happens in one when something happens after the long waiting time and the joy about the new car… Since I was allowed to share my joy about the new one here in the forum with you, I now have to get rid of the limitless frustration that the fact that I got my big dog (who had brought me safely to the finish even in the densest snowdriving on the weekend) can only be handed over again for a while to the workshop… Horror !!!     what do the XC 70 disciples drive for Winterpneus ? Hm before I look for a long time, what do the XC 70 men and women (is there anyway?) drive for winter tires ? Makes, costs, experiences, sources of supply ? So e.g. all-year series Pirellis ex works, not yet exchanged, half-way traction, am still unclear to me if I should buy any at all, after all I do not have a 2.3 t cabinet wall under the popometer … I don’t believe this thread existed yet or ?

    Well, last week it was time: for the last time on guarantee to defuse free of charge. The balance after 2 years XC 90 is quite modest. I would have expected less of such a premium car (less defects are clear). In all 4 inspections minor warranty defects have been fixed. The main and angle transmission has been renewed. Finally there was a telephone update and a new switch for the cruiser. If you count the workshop stays now because of the problems with the gas conversion, then it will already be the same. The cracking of the spoiler axis persists (I hope there is a callback action), because no error is to be objectiveized. Well: I have never stayed with the box on 90000km. But from the predicate “satisfied customer” I am quite far away. Greeting Thomas ….who is now undertaking test rides again.
