  • P20 and its rust weakness.

Hello, because I am about to remove some rust spots at my 20-year-old 850, which have occurred after 20 years I ask myself what my v70 (which is now 10 years old) will look like after 20 years. I strongly assume that the P20 should also have its beloved places that will sooner or later cause problems – and if you do this early enough (as in my 850, the rust was only 99% under covers or disguises) then I think the effort is also limited. My v70 is so seen in OPTIMALEN condition, it was not driven even in winter (in Ö the salt is a drama) – therefore it is currently in comparison to others really perfect. My question is now – what should be the neuralgic places on the P20 models? What should you look at? Like for example with the 850 the mud wings front (which rust from inside to outside), or under the decorative mouldings. Or the wheel caskets (under the plastic cover), or under the plastic thresholds of the P20 models? What should you look at?

  • Retrieve Errors

Hello, I am now at a point where I really think about what to get to read faults myself. What would be seriously useful for selfmade screwdrivers? My age is getting more sensitive as I just barely notice thanks for tips

  • Heating software on guarantee !?

Hello, yesterday my piece of jewellery (V70 D5 Premium from 04/2003) was with the friendly one to finally get some of the defects (mirror vibrating, shock rod at the front dissolves in the wash road, automatic jerks, additional heater squints) to be eliminated. So, among other things (as with my predecessor car V70 D5 from 04/2002) the additional heater should be switched off and then the heating software for manual switching on should be played up. Got poblemlos last year. But now, so my friend can’t do it anymore !! Anyway, not on guarantee. Does anyone know something more about this change of mind at Volvo ?? Now half of the additional heaters have been renewed and hopes for improvement…which has not worked already with my old car. Was the system changed from 2002 to 2003? Thank you Grusss Volker

  • NAVI question: target entry?

Hello Volvo fan community, drive an S60BE with the Volvo RTI-Navi. Have a question to you that concerns the handling of the target entry. I miss two useful functions that I know from other manufacturers: — entering the road without a house number. According to the manual it should work. Navi then steers to the middle of the road. Unfortunately, it has never worked. I don’t come out of the menu and can’t start the navigation without a house number. Am I perhaps “too stupid” to operate? 😉 — Selection of the “city center” if I don’t want to specify a precise street name. This doesn’t seem to be possible. But I find it very helpful if I drive a (exit) place that I don’t know exactly where it is located. Then I just want to be directed to the city/town center to get closer and continue my “excursion” from there. Before I select an exact road from which I don’t know exactly where it is located (city center, city edge etc.). There must be something better? Does anyone have ideas or solutions?

  • V70 as Lifesaver

Hello dear forum community, unfortunately my beloved Volvo is brutally different on Friday evening. A big truck missed me and my friend at the end of the traffic jam. I am feeling quite well, except for bruises etc., my girlfriend is still in the clinic. But she is also on the way to improvement. A smaller lighter or less sophisticated car, or even less decency on our part, would have meant our safe death. Here a picture to be found on the internet also at http://www.general-anzeiger-bonn.de/…/…der-a61-article1599026.html Since the Volvo has saved my life in such an exemplary way, I am looking for a V70 as soon as possible.

  • “Klonk” noise front axle…

Hello, for a few days I have had a “clonk” noise at the VA. It occurs, for example, when driving over bad roads, but not in the case of ground waves, also not in the case of kerbs up or downrolls. You could also put the noise a little as if the tire treads were loosening (which is not the case 🙂 ), so it is so “schloapp”. It is independent of speed and direction of direction. My shock absorbers came in 08/2011 at approx. 175000, the spring leg bearings and spring plates at the top in 09/2010 at approx. 170000. Momentary km-stand is 280000. Should I look for the coupling rods? Or rather the “dom bearing”? How do you estimate this distance (see pictures), is this clearly too much? If I spring the car by pressing down, the upper “plate” moves in relation to the lower one already. With the eye it is almost impossible to see, but if you put your finger in the gap, you can feel it for many thanks.

  • Purchase advice Volvo V70 II Bj 2001

Hey, since my old Nissan has to be replaced slowly, I am looking for a larger combination. Since I am still a current student and therefore not so much money is available, I am on the following Volvo. First question would be that this is an all-wheel? What I don’t necessarily want to have. Second question, what should I take into consideration during the inspection, what should you take a closer look at this model series? What is it like with the timing belt, which interval is recommended by Volvo? Thank you.
