Hello, in today’s print edition AutoBild has tried to compare the V70 D5 (185 hp) with the Audi A6 Avant 2.7 TDI. Apart from some exceptions (e.g. evaluation of the V-70 dashboard, which has been rightly praised for years by the entire trade press), the article is nevertheless quite balanced overall. Although the 5 years younger and significantly larger A6 decides practically all test criteria more or less for itself, the V70 ultimately wins, because clearly cheaper in purchase. The comparison test shows again how difficult it is to compare the V70 with “classmates” – it practically does not exist. The A6 as well as the DC E-Class play m.E. (at least in price) in another league, namely where for years the lack of the new V 90 – Konfort / Raumwunders has to complain about the lack of the new V90 – Konfort / Raumwunders. Reverse the flag V70 can also not be compared with a Ford Mondeo too, although the outside, inside and luggage space measures on a “class” – B.

Hello insiders and fans, Has any of you found a viable way to increase the unsatisfactory load on the XC90? My request at the IAA came up with pure horror, as one can only ask something (that’s how it seemed to me). I wonder why at such a fair there is not even a technical decision-maker or at least one of the ones present. Maybe we should start an action here in the forum, in order to pass on massively ignored wishes (realisable) to competent in the VOLVO fortress. Hello together, I drive a V70 II with the 2.4 T engine (200 hp). In the boardbook it says that I can refuel 91, 95 and 98 octan. 91 I let it be, is certainly too little. Since I live near Switzerland, I give my Volvo 98 octan (about 20 cents cheaper than 95 octan in Germany). Sometimes I also have to refuel in Germany. Since I don’t hold anything of the 100 octan fuel, I either refuel 98 octan with a free tank or 95 octan brand gasoline. Are 98 octan really better for the engine or are 95 completely enough? I drive a lot of city traffic and motorway with Tempomat at 180 km/h. Greeting Roland

I also have a question for you: I drive a Volvo V70, which also has a built-in car phone (chosen keyboard with SIM card slot next to the radio part, hands-free in the mirror and headrest, hands-on in the center console, display in the dashboard). If I choose now, I sometimes hear the free sign until someone calls, and sometimes I don’t hear a free sign at all, but silence until someone takes off. That’s very irritating and I can’t explain what this is all about. Do you have any idea or similar experiences?
