• Rim prices for Volvo V70?

    I slowly start to think about which rims I can take or should take for the winter tyres. My dealer wanted to slip 800€ for steel rims with two new and two old winter flaps. For mature aluminium rims a lot more than 1000€ is called up. Now I have found at a pure tyre dealer which for approx. 800€ (greased); only one would have to register them. Since this is summer flaps, I still have to wait for the action prices for the winter. This dealer has called me 1000€ for tyred steel rims (with Conti TS830, only the rims cost over 500€). I just don’t understand why steel rims should be more expensive than aluminium rims?? Very strange… Maybe someone has a tip on how/where to get to rims cheaply?

  • Purchase advice V70 D5 2004

    I am looking for a V70 II D5 163 or 185 hp. As a ceiling I have 12.00€. Less is of course better. Last I looked at one http://fahrzeugdetail.meinestadt.de/…/overview?… The price in the display is without VAT, since my wife is self-employed we also buy without. Our Golf Plus would be paid with 6000,- net. TÜV is new and has the following flaws: All brake blocks should be changed, hand brake too much “game”, tires little profile, track rod head too much game. Car comes from Italy. Mei father-in-law is a very savvy screwdriver with his own workshop. With him I could carry out all repairs (let). The material price incl. tires (225) is so at 1200,- € max. Overall I would come here at a quite favorable price at a good car. What do you think?

  • Bad thing: General braking failure (!!!) at higher speeds

    Hello, I just came from the AB and there I had to realize to my horror that with my S60 from speed 140 the brakes generally fail: Tempo 240-250Km/h for test purposes a full braking attempt (AB was empty!). The pedal could be pressed a bit far, however the braking effect was maximum 1/3 of the expected delay. I then pressed the pedal with full foot force, no better delay any more. Shortly afterwards the message in the display : DTSC Off, Ge White as a lime wall slowly continued. After 2 minutes the error message went out. Again fully into the iron (about 100-110 km/h). Everything as it should be, strong delay, with the typical ABS noise (which was missing at high speed). New attempt (AB still empty!!!) 140-160 km/h Attempt to complete braking: result as on the first time. Display message: DTSC off- speed decrease. Again accelerated to 140-160 km/h and full Into the brake. Strong delay, but without ABS “tue”. When the warning message again tried a full braking. Result repeatedly frightening: maximum 1/3 of the braking effect….. At low speeds everything seems to work best, I tested that, but as soon as a higher speed is driven, I can no longer brake properly (if DTSC is switched on). What madness, Volvo and the brakes…. I’m just happy that I can get through a brake. If I fly at 250Km/h to a stray truck, I have no chance to slow down the vehicle quickly enough, which would probably not be a problem with a really funcratizing brake. My estimate is that I drive at least 180-200Km/h (!!!) , while I should actually be at 100Km/h… A catastrophic condition, there is no error message before. And if it comes to that, you look stupid until you have a No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

  • XC70 -> End traction (pre-examination ART2007 😉 “Cool, it’s raining mud!”

    Hi together, on 13.01. I had the opportunity to use the Haldex again in my forest. Although an off-road operation was not planned at all, but the favor of the hour offered a preliminary test of fitness on the ART2007. What had happened? Well, the XC in the hanging farm could not turn on the usual place in the forest, and had to be turned on the adjoining meadow (which fortunately also belongs to us). This was unfortunately on the slope, this was very wet, ergo: Mudrace. But here e in the impression of the conditions on site. 1. The way in the forest was, although VOR Kyrill, to clear my advance command first …

  • A question about the four-wheeler at the XC90

    Was just in Croatia in Ulraub and the there hotel parking place had been in some places very scenic. So I stood slightly sloping below the paved road at a relatively steep embankment and wanted as a cool SUV driver easy up the slope. But Pustekuchen, every time the front left wheel had less grip through the slope, this only turned through and the whole car did not move any more – at least forward – My question is now, Wouldn’t have had to drive the rear wheels in this situation in order to push the car (and me, of course, not so cool anymore) up? Could something be wrong, or is the all-wheel drive at the Xc90 already overwhelmed? How can you test whether the all-wheel drive works? Greetings Patrick P.S. Croatia was by the way a dream, only unfortunately also become quite expensive….

  • Air conditioning pimped

    Moin! I had already reported that I was not satisfied with the cooling capacity of the automatic air conditioning system in my V70II. The compressor switched off at 7.5°C blow-out temperature, so that the blown air warmed up again to 9.5°C before the compressor switched on again. I then tried to find out with schematics and so on whether the shutdown is caused by the refrigerant pressure or by the evaporator temperature -> it is the latter. If this switch-off temperature can be set by the friendly -> Missing. So once again put your hand on. The resistance curve of the temperature sensor was found in the vadis, from this I have read the value for 6°C evaporator temperature (estimated because of the 8°C evaporator temp., also I think I have read somewhere in the vadis about the fact that it is switched off at 6°C). So this is the value I have to tell the ECU if I really have 3°C evaporator temp. ha be. We remember the fifth class physics -> old hobbyist resistance switched in parallel to it -> blow-out temperature 5°C. And so the moose is cool in an acceptable time. Why can’t it be easily adjusted by software? Even the seat heating temp. can be chosen. Or an offset between the selected interior temperature and the real… Well, it worked. Greeting Matze

  • Mp3 player connected to HUXXX except for a little thing!

    Hello guys, since I got the pin assignment of the radio plugs this week I could solder a cable with DIN plug (both from CONRAD) together with which you can connect an MP3 player oä to the HU603 (or any other HUXXX). Now only one thing is missing: The radio does not recognize that one source is connected. What must be pretended to the radio think it is a changer connected?? If that is clear everyone can use less than 5 € and a soldering iron e inen MP3 player connect to his radio!! So WER has a WECHSELER and an OSZILLOSKOP that please contact us. Or if anyone else has any idea how to do that. Thank you. Greetings Andi

  • Rearview camera in XC90

    I now have the rear camera installed; first conclusion: a really useful gimmick I have to reset a narrow driveway from the garage about 20m, on which often 4 small children (incl. neighbour children ) + friends jump around, Bobbycars or similar vehicle stand. Without camera the wg. the high edge of the board was usually an unsafe undertaking and depending on the day mood of the children only with instructor sure. With camera you have at least a chance to see and react. soon the reverse gear is inserted, the Navi-Schirm goes up; delay after inserting the gear approx. 5 sec. When the Navi is switched on, the picture jumps immediately. You can see 130° left/right and down to the end of the vehicle. A red line marks 30cm to the rear part, a yellow line marks 1,50m and 2m. Laterally, the line shows approx. 10cm above the width of the XC90 (incl. side mirror); where one would land at current handlebar impact. If one turns on the steering wheel, also d he lines and show whether and how to get into the parking space or how close to the edge stone. However, you should not forget to also look forward to see if the bonnet is hanging somewhere. With a delay of 15 sec the Navi-Schirm works again, which goes back to the Navi-mode, after you have left the reverse gear, or after a speed of 10 km/h forward. i.e. when pre- and rearrange the system usually remains active. Greeting, Michael

  • DTSC adjustable V70-BiFuel ?

    Hello, dear ones, I noticed that there is no switch in my new V70-BiFuel (Mj07) to switch off the DTSC. Is this also so with you (question especially to Stefan and “Bumm”, the familiar BiFuel drivers) ?? If so, what is the display at the start, “DTSC EIN”, if I can’t switch it off anyway ?? Many greetings, “danfried” P.S.: Does someone need winter bikes for V70 I with Volvo steel rims and completely new Michelin tires ??
