XC90 D5 vs. V8
Hello, since my Dickelch (D5 136 KW) had to be inspected, today I had an 8 month old XC90 V8 for one day as a replacement vehicle. What should I say? 14000 EUR more on new purchase is not worth the engine. When accelerating hardly noticeable extra power. Gear shiftinterwals are much shorter and more precise in my diesel, therefore my D5 fills up much more agilely. Leak from the consumption (have returned the V8 with the same driving mode after 100 km with 14 liters of cutting consumption. Sure, the advantages of such a V8 are: quieter than diesel and from 180 KMH on the motorway there is still enough power. But at 315 hp I expected more. What is your opinion? Alex

WARNING – XC 90 hand brake pads
Hello dear motor-talker! With regard to the actual problem, please refer to this thread! KLICK ME When changing all brake pads and brake discs (after 153,000 km this is completely fine, before only changing over to the front) I could also take my pads of the foot-locking brake in view (I almost never use the foot-locking brake!): On the driver side both pads were replaced half, on the passenger side everything was fine……………….. I recommend to let all XC 90 drivers change the manual brake pads after running performances of more than 100,000km with a necessary change of brake pads and/or discs at the rear.

V70II “Blows on the ridge”
From about 80 km/h – depending on the wind direction – comes a sound like “blown on the comb with butterbread paper” from the dashboard area above the glove compartment. If you sit on the right side of the ARmaturenbrett with a flat hand, one from above is hearty, the noise sometimes goes away. Ventilation on / off / adjust, sliding roof on / to bring nothing. Did anyone ever have that?
