  • Start/stop automatic on the V40

    Hi dear Volvo Forum! As a successor car for my wife we are looking at a “Volvo V40 D3 Geartronic Summum” tomorrow morning. The car is standing at a Volvo dealership and is EZ 03/2013. Has driven less than 60tkm and is very well equipped (leather, xenon, panorama roof, city package). I searched the forum here, but found no clues, what are with a V40 D3 automatic so the “weak spots” you should pay attention to. Are there any points I have to look at exactly?   • Huge problem with the chassis and the Tüv

    Moin and Hello all together, maybe someone can give me here a tip on my “loved” V40 BJ 2013 D2. I bought the car a year ago with a gapless history… but probably not like that… Unfortunately a private purchase. I had an inspection done last week and both track rod heads should be renewed. Then the car should be over the tuv. Then the shock: Grober lack suspension / spring not proven all the admissibility (EM). The next shock, I look under the car, 2 track rod heads calculated, one replaced, interior / pollen filter calculated and looks like it was the first. But well, the chassis should be the subject here. The tuv examiner has scratched on the springs and underneath was blue color. Springs are black but nothing can be read on it. The vehicle has a height to the upper edge of the antenna 1420mm as indicated by the factory on just underground. But the vehicle also looks visually not really lower now. The only thing that I drive with 18 inch rims. The biggest thing I’m sorry about is the original is to say it’s still a lot of the original fit.

  • TPMS reset/learning

    Hello, my TPMS system has been bugging me for a few weeks with warnings that don’t go away permanently even after recalibration. Since the car is now 7 years old, I suspect that the batteries in the sensors have left the mind. To verify this diagnosis I wanted to read out the fault memory with my newly acquired diagnostic device from iCarSoft, except for some generic messages that could not be clearly assigned, but found no TPMS-specific message, no TPMS module is detected during the analysis. The TPMS maintenance function, which supports the device for some brands, is not generally available for Volvo. Now I wonder if Volvo has not ‘opened’ the TPMS module in general, so that a sensor change could only take place from an authorized Volvo workshop using VIDA or is my OBD device just not sufficiently compatible with Volvo? I can’t imagine that Volvo is asking for virtually all tyre services to register for VIDA, so that a sensor change could only be done by an authorized Volvo factory using VIDA or my OBD device is just not sufficiently compatible with Volvo.

  • Wi-Fi hotspot

    N’Evening together! with my V40 the WLAN hotspot works, so the connection of Sensus to a telephone hotspot no more (I don’t have a Volvo On Call, there’s no modem installed in the vehicle). So far the two have already connected, but the apps (so if you press the globe) have been charged forever. Yesterday I then let the RTTI update be played up, since then I can’t get into the Internet. The hotspot is recognized, connects itself also (WLAN bars are visible), but these rotating arrows spin forever and the apps don’t charge. After a few minutes comes the hint that I should check my Internet settings. Other devices can easily connect to the phone (is an iPhone SE), Internet on the phone itself also works error-free. I guess it’s on the car.. Network settings I’ve already reset, password changed, newly connected in the Sensus, all tried.. The phone is mostly located in the central console or on the passenger seat.. Does anyone know advice? Thanks and many greetings!

  • Volvo V40 suspension unfortunately much too hard! Help!

    Hello dear Volvo driver! I bought this year in late summer a Volvo V40 D2 Momentum Mj.17 Geartronic with the normal chassis. During the test drive much to me that the V40 was quite tight however the roads there were very good and I did not feel it particularly unpleasant. Now after 4000 kilometers driven and mostly highway bothers me unfortunately very much. It is a super car in itself but this bone hard chassis spoils the fun of the Volvo completely. I drive it with 17 inch rims 205/50 tires. About a month after the purchase I have checked the tire air pressure with the hope that this was too high. Forgive since it was even only 1.8 bar! As he now drives with 2,3 bar I would not have bought it in life. To a Volvo (I already had two) V70 Bj. 1997 as well as S60 Bj. In 2002 I will probably be very happy about the ride, but I will not be happy about it.

  • Volvo V40 CC automatic – tyre dimension

    Since the general representative in Austria and Germany was unable to send an answer to my question, I directly addressed the experts in Gothenburg. It was about the approval of a tyre size for the Volvo V40CC automatic. I wanted to leave the tyres in the 16″ size but widened. Now I can leave it here. The Volvo V40 CC has at least in Austria a release for 225/55 r16.

  • Day-time running light and passing beam simultaneously

    Hello together, I have a V40 with Xenon and LED TFL, BJ summer 2013. It’s the case with me that as soon as I turn on the dipped light, the TFL goes completely off. With the 2015 models, however, the TFL stays darkened with as soon as you switch to dipped light. Can you retrofit this with the 2014 model? Thank you and greeting, Alex

  • Sensus Connect Error after card update

    Hello together I have a big problem and hope that you can help me: We have a V40 MJ2015 and wanted to record the card update, which apparently went wrong. My procedure: 1. SW loaded with the Volvo software on a 64GB stick (just 18GB) 2. USB stick plugged in in the center console. 3. Ignition turned on 4. Starter battery connected to a charger. 5. After the display was “start update” confirmed with OK. 6. Run let And from now on my problems start… As good as I was, I left the whole thing unobserved in the garage, because it was there, about 1h30. When I came back after about 1h, everything was dark. So I switched on ignition again, in the hope that the update is finished. Far missing. Now on the display was that I should insert USB1. So stick out and back in. Look, after 1min the blue update bar jumped to about 35% and made far he. this time I stayed about 30 minutes and the beam moved. after a short time then the message came that the Connect turns off in 2 min to save power. Unfortunately there was no “abruption” or other. Now the car turned off again. Slight panic took off. So quickly on the homepage and read it. Supposedly no problem, since the Karch continues to the place with the update again, where it was interrupted. But somehow I believe that I We have now driven by car about 2x 30min and the navigation function is dead. The USB stick is still in it. Tonight everything is connected again and nothing works anymore. On the display, after pressing the navigation button, only “navigation starts”. All the other functions go (radio, media, etc) as usual, “only” the navigation is no longer possible. Can anyone please give me a help?   • Noise tweeter and glove compartment

    My V40 sometimes has a crackling tweeter on the driver’s side, so I thought. The friendly one, however, said that the tweeter was healing and it was the disguise.
