  • Driving mode T8 in snow and snow

    Hello Foristi, I drive an XC90 II T8 and have a question about the driving modes. In the Rhine-Main area it has snowed a few times now and I am unsure which driving mode is the right one in these weather conditions. In AWD mode it seems to never drive electric, but only with burner – but probably constant with four wheel. In hybrid and pure mode it can also be electric and probably only switches on the four wheel if necessary. How do you do that? Greetings Tom

  • New car XC90 in workshop but I am not mobile 🙁

    Hello dear Volvo community, I have here a question of understanding…. My quite new XC90 (new vehicle, 10 months old.) must now be changed for the second time as planned. A turbocharger hose has to be changed…. Now to my story: The exhaust system indicator light lit up yesterday morning on the way to work (30km from home), I then drove directly to the next Volvo dealer, who read out the car and said that a turbocharger hose is defective and has to be changed. Ok, he ordered it and asked me to repair it tomorrow morning. I should bring the car by 8h and can pick it up again at 14h. As far as it is so good…. Now I am there tomorrow at 8h and then ??? How do I stay mobile, say how do I get to work? The Volvo assistance does not take care of the case, since it is a planned repair and the assistance only helps with breakdowns…. The workshop can provide me with a workshop car, but would like to have 50€ for it.

  • D5 battery weakens, who could be helped in the long term?

    In two other threads I have already presented my problem on the subject of no heater and no start/stop. Also the hint of a master that you should think about a battery charger with so much technology with only occasional use, can not really calm me. Since the car was just at the annual service and I addressed the problem battery and also the warranty expired in December, without which the problem seems to have been solved, I would like to know from other sufferers whether and how you have been helped in the long term in order to sensitize the workshop with the troubleshooting. I look forward to your answers.

  • Volvo XC90 T8 Mj 2019 no E-mark, E6b/E4/E6d-Temp and environmental plaque?

    To the info: The XC90 T8 Mj. 2019 definitely does not get E6b or E-marks (was here already discussed and suspected). What I really find the hardness is that it has now only E4. I still wait for feedback from Volvo. Have until now only the info that just now with the new standard is tested and for that the CO2 emission is too high and the E-range is too low (and these birds do not know that 6 months before. They were still quite proud of their E-marks during the sales interview). I just check whether you can undo the purchase contract, because the assured property (namely E6b) is not respected. Although practically with the gasoline (yet) no role play, because only diesel with E4 and 5 are affected by the driving bans (or since today also not again ???), but after that there is still one on the idea, the particeklaus kick of the gasoline and – zack! – will not be banned with E6 again with the gasoline.

  • Consumption indicator/residual speed indicator spins XC90

    The above signs spin. The car is now 4 months old. I was suspected that it might have to do with the heater that I had started now. But the error now also occurs without a heater. When the car is turned on, the average consumption indicator jumps immediately to 30 – 50 liters, no matter whether the car is warm or cold. After that it goes down slowly, depending on the kilometers driven, it can also run back into the realistic area. Is such a mistake known….Software should actually be on the stand.

  • Internet in the car

    Hello, I have a D5 with Sensus Navigation and on call as well as CarPlay/Android Auto option. I connected my iPhone 7 via Bluetooth to the car and set the ticking Internet via Bluetooth when communicating. I only noticed now that I was not connected to the Internet via iPhone so obviously, because when I opened a WLAN hotspot with the iPhone and connected the XC90 via WLAN, I got the real traffic information (roads in the city were green and red, was not the case via Bluetooth, because they were only gray). Also, download app etc. was not possible. Therefore, my question: How can I use my iPhone to make phone calls via freephone and at the same time to download traffic data? Thought, that’s why you have to put the hook. Do I have to set up something in the iPhone? (That no mobile data are available while you are on the phone is clear to me). How do I connect my iPhone via CarPlay? Then Bluetooth is snapped. Traffic data I want to have anyway. Somehow I don’t get through there anymore. I don’t want to create a SIM card for the internal modem.

  • V90 Price Ok or too expensive??

    Hello, as far as Volvo is concerned, I have absolutely no idea. Recently I discovered a V90 D5 AWD Inscription on site and found the totally awesome. I wanted to get the E220 Bj. 2018, then the V90 tested and the E220 deleted directly from my list. With the . The Inscription standard equipment is of course: EZ.: Sep. 2017 (year of construction 2016) Km.-Stand: 12.000 Price: 42,000 € Is the price in order or too expensive? What do you value what the vehicle would cost in two years if I would drive 30t km per year? What makes me even more supportive is the year of construction. Can someone tell me such rough differences between the year 2016 and 2017? Are there technical and optical differences? I just noticed some pictures from the nett just one tiny thing. And that’s the starting clatter. Bj. 2016 (to start the switch to the right, stop goes to the left. With the 2017er everything goes to the right.

  • Illuminated ventilation nozzles

    Good morning, it is getting dark earlier and I have a question about the lighting of the ventilation nozzles. I have the 4 zones air conditioning. At the front all the wheels of the ventilation nozzles are nicely illuminated. At the back of the central console the control panel for controlling the rear climate in the central console is illuminated, but the wheels of the ventilation nozzles are not. Likewise, the wheels of the ventilation control in the B column are not illuminated as well. Is that so right? I imagine that these were lit once.   • Who has ever driven the D4 190 hp

    Hello together, I’m thinking about getting the D4 with 190 hp and putting the 4T€ savings into the equipment. But now I don’t find any experience in the net about the driving characteristics of the D4 in the Volvo XC90 II. Has anyone ever driven it? How were the engine characteristics? Is it with 190 hp and over 2 tons rather sluggish and the 4T€ for the D5? AWD or FWD doesn’t matter to me! Thanks for your feedback gmwolf
