  • Timing belts

Hello I have many questions. 1.) My KIA PICANTO EX 1.1 48KW (65hp) BAUJA 12/2006 so soon 6 years old. But has only 13200 KM.(So no 3000 KM per year.) In my operating instructions it is necessary to change the timing belt at 90000 KM or 6 years. Is this necessary with my very low mileage. The workshop would say : 6 years change,so!! 2.)How can you look at this? 3.) What can the cost of changing the timing belt? Would I be pleased with the answers. Gerd

  • Turn off “Comfortblinken” – Kia Rio

Hello together We are since yesterday happy owner of a relatively new Kia Rio. First registration 02/17. Only what bothers at the moment is this automatic 3 to 4 times blinking when you tap the lever. User manual gives nothing here if and how you can turn it off. Does anyone know if the Ggf. goes over detours? We are rather classically on the road and it just bugs us.

  • Difference between KIA Rio 1.4 Dream Edition and 1.4 Spirit

Hello guys, the title reveals everything. It’s about the fact that I’m about to buy a small car and I liked the Rio very much. My 2 questions for you would be: 1. Are you satisfied with the 1.4 gasoline Pro and Contras? 2. What’s the difference between the Dream Edition and the Spirit? Thanks MfG

  • KIA maintenance package

Two weeks ago, we bought a new (exit model) Picanto as a quasi-covered scooter for the city. I accepted the dealer’s offer and paid 1300 euros for the maintenance package. In retrospect, I believe that this is probably overpaid. In addition, if we sell dén cars earlier, probably no person pays extra money for it. What do you think about it? Is there any experience?

  • Kia Rio 1.4 CVVT Spirit Full equipment 的 Your opinion?

Hello together, I plan to buy the Kia Rio 1.4 CVVT Spirit with technology package, Navi and Protection Plus (via Autohaus24.de). Before I wanted to hear the opinion of people who already drive the same vehicle. More question: What is included in the transfer costs (790 €)? Do I get at least full fueled? I would be very pleased about comments/opinions about my desired car. Greeting André

  • Finished brake pads at the back factory?

Hello! For a long time I changed the linings of the rear disc brakes at my Picanto. The reason was that the brake had set itself to the left, which led to a hot brake and high wear. On the left side both linings were therefore already quite far down, but the one on the right side had not reached their wear limit for a long time. This made something visible, which I have never seen before. A part of the lining was missing! On the photo you can see In the case of the lower surface (outside) an edge which runs in about 45° to the direction of the wheels, from there the surface is ground down to about half of the original thickness. The grinding marks are also in the 45° angle, and also the inner surface (above), which is somewhat more worn, shows still slight remnants of these tracks. My left surfaces were so far down that nothing was recognizable of it. Anyway, this thing is not by chance, the precision of the tracks after the m The blocks are still the original ones from the factory, the new blocks don’t have that, and even a colleague and car mechanic has never heard of it. Therefore, my question, knows of you who, why that is? (And since my uploaded pictures seem to end up in Nirvana: There!

  • Rio 2011 HiFi and TFL

Moin Moin! We are talking about buying a new Rio in the household, but before we actually buy it or even invest the time for a test drive, something important has to be clarified. And that is: What about HiFi upgrade options? I would like to install a decent radio in this if a car is bought and also subwoofers, power amplifiers and good front sound speakers should not be missing. What about the installation options? DIN or Double-DI N? Connections? Cable connections from the battery to the interior? What speaker size in the doors? Insulation of the doors simple or complicated? After all, there is nothing to snort or scrape, even if I drive properly level. And: The car has standard daytime running lights. However, as I will not only drive on the highway, these must be switchable or disabled. Possible? Thank you for your help!

  • KIA Picanto SA 1.1 BJ 10.2008 Engine damage 17.200km run

Hello last Friday my Fr. had the car towed because the engine made loud noises. The ADAC Plus then towed the car to the next KIA dealer. At the month we learned from the KIA dealer that we have no claim on a rental car because we did not take the mobility guarantee. We found that already naughty. Today came the call that it is an engine damage. Costs about 500€. The car was registered on 19,05.2009 with 3 Year warranty. The 1 and last time was the car on 5.6.2010 for inspection. Since we are now 3 months about it inspection the dealer told us that it can no longer be billed about warranty but possibly about Kulanz. We are of course very disappointed. At Toyota we always got a write when the next inspection is due. As said the engine ran 17,200 km. KNABA 24329T752306 I have already read that there are problems with the Picanto engines. Wa s you mean to the whole thing??? Greetings Sven

  • Kia Picanto BJ. 2009 and ONLY problems

Hi! I have a very adventurous story for you and hope you can help me with it. Unfortunately I don’t know GAR by car and I have to go to the workshop tomorrow (again), so I wanted to hear some neutral opinions and tips in order to be able to talk with you (or to understand more about it) My Kia Picanto BJ. 2009 started already after half a year (and 6000km) to make clacking sounds at the dome. I was already familiar with problems with switching, by kicking the coupler in the empty gear (is that so? ) the gears then jump in again. So off to workshop, diagnosis: Everything good, no whistles/clagers to hear… only somehow the cooler fluid has slipped enormously under “L”, so you only refilled these and was good. So I drove on clacking and whistling. Then problems with winter tires (the thing was not even a year old): rusty nuts, brake pads All great, only cooler fluid had to be re-filled (again). Everything was nice! The inspection is now 2 months ago, I ran 11000km and since FR the following problem. Apart from the old well-known clacking and whistles the brakes make front, at low speed, snooze sounds (when braking) and I have the feeling that the car is not working properly. In addition, another (new) strange sound comes from the moror room, something metallic, as if any feathers were pounding against something or bounce off something and today, at the traffic light, the first course jumped out of me again and again. In addition, I have the feeling that the steering is more sensitive than usual, i.e. the car seems very restless to me. During the ride, however, the engine behaves very inconspicuously (i.e. on Kia type), no clackers, gluc Is that possible and explains the braking noise? Or can it be due to the tyre pressure or generally to the tires? It will hardly have the brake pads down after 11tkm, right? I’m curious about your theories and thanks in advance.
