Rexton or Sorento
Hello together, have just registered in this forum but it has been read for a long time. I know the topic has been dealt with very often and the search function I have already been through until the beginning of last year on this topic. I am now facing the purchase decision but I am still very unreliable. On the one hand I like the Rexton from outside very well and the performance seems to be right but it doesn’t drive so well I think and I had a consumption of 11.2 L Iter at 100Km. I drove in the city, federal road and highway where I have to say that I wanted to know what he was giving and at 192Km/H was closed according to Navi. One day later, however, I had the Sorento (Diesel) as a new car, where I then did not pay attention to the consumption. But I have to say that the Sorento is doing a lot better than the Rexton and I also like the interior equipment better than the Rexton. Hmm what do I do now?Kia had offered me a chip In the case of Sorento you can hear not so much bad except for a par small and Monday cars there are of every brand. In the case of Rexton there should be gear problems, whereby the delivery time is also relatively long. The test drive with both cars takes about 3 hours. To my needs he should be able to drive well and should be able to do without workshop visits except the inspection of course. It must always start well even in the winter because I work in shift operations and sometimes also a horse trailer pull that however not so often.New cars does not come in question so much then rather daily admittance or annual car with a few kilometers on the clock. Can you write me perhaps even more positive and negative statements of the concerned cars?

Sorento from Turkey
The Kia Sorento is a popular SUV. It is interesting to see what the export versions look like in contrast to our German models. Some had beige leather instead of grey, the door handles also had wooden inlet, the rear spoiler is mounted on all models, the large double-din original radio is also installed on all. Tempomat also on switching version!! However, the Turkish sorentos always had only 2 airbags. Xenon light was also seen flashing, which was probably retrofitted. Also interesting, the Sorento has with some models original integrated running boards, that looked quite good. Some also had the radiator grille insert with the Korea logo. Many had a kind of additional bumper / extension at the front. Also at the back there was this to see. At the tailgate there was a large Palstik cover with “Sorento lettering”. Down at the rear bumper extension there was then no I’ve never seen that here. And the best…… every 2nd Sorento had darkened the front side windows, that’s really good. Unfortunately, that’s not allowed in Germany.

Where’s the plus pole on the battery?
Hello dear community, I have a question about the battery in a Kia Ceed Travel Emotion (see pictures). Sorry already for my ignorance. Wanted to bridge the battery with a starter cable from Herth & Buss as it no longer starts. Red cable to the plus pole etc…. However, where is the plus pole? (see pictures black circle) 😕 And can it be that one needs a finer, small terminal or the battery has to expand half to the plus pole to com men? Mine doesn’t lock, because the clamp is too coarse/large… Thought the starter cables would all be standardized. In addition, you might also tell me where to install the black cable (mass/metal point). Thank you very much for your support!!!! Best regards Albert

Sportage delivery problem
Hello Sporty fans ! Have (had) problems with the delivery of my newly ordered Sportage 2.0 gasoline due to production errors with regard to airbags. (see also “supplier problems Sportage” I got an offer from my dealer now, because KIA has agreed to offer all customers, who have to wait for their already ordered petroler, a diesel for the petroler – price! Price advantage = 2.300,- Euro!!! The diesels are partly available at the dealers respectively. ” Chiffsladenen voll Sporty ́s en route” in the direction of Germania! Have a price advantage and availability (now about 3 weeks!!!) Hofe was not a wrong decision, because of tax and soot particle filters – problem! PS: Who can now give me some reliable information about the diesel consumption at the 2.0 CRDI Sporty??? ….names the driven engine (at least 7000 KM and normal diesel driving mode! Thanks for your contributions US

Test drive Car master of Kia=broken crankshaft
HELP:Testing Car Master of Kia=broken crankshaft Hello, I have a very big problem: I have a Kia Sportage BJ.97 km about 120.000 and I passed by at a Kia contract ceremony because he so strangely stuttered and shook. First of all the told me that the fuel tanker had to be replaced. The next day it was not that it was the throttle flap potentiometer / gas pedal schlatter. Well the next day I got from Kia the call where the gentleman v from customer service informed: “The car master made a test drive with the new gas pedal switch, which was stuttered and shaken away, however, when driving the crankshaft broken”. The workshop explained to me that they now want to turn on the insurance after I told them that I will pay no more as agreed and my car as I delivered in to them, without a broken crankshaft and without stuttering and shaking again ha now on 13.06 or on 14.06 an expert of the insurance company will look at the car, but who he “says” that it is covered by covertly I have to pay the bill (5.000€ they told me in this workshop) Who has experiences who can help me, give advice? What do I do now? Help Gruss Banu

KIA Sportage 2.0 l + 2.7,V 6, questions
Hello, I am playing with the idea of buying a KIA Sportage. I have once sent myself the current brochure of the Sportage. Especially with the 2.0 l petrol and the 2.7 l V 6 a few questions arise: how is the V6 in the suit quite lame, from 0 to 100 km/h it needs 0.1 sec. more than the 2.0 l ? why is the final speed registered at 180 km/h ( V 6 and 2.0 l )? It can’t really be that a round 141 hp car ( 2.0 l ) is more splashing than an approximately 175 hp Auto ( 2.7 l V 6 ). Only in consumption I find a certain logic, the V 6 is definitely more pure. 🙂 But seriously: I don’t know from the technology why a buyer should increase the V 6. Well, the standard equipment in V 6 has already what, but purely from the technology? Can one of you give me “insider tips”? Many greetings, gobecks

Kia Sportage III – Consumer lie
Hello, today I drove the so hotly beloved Sportage 1.7 Diesel (manual gearbox) The seller told me, despite several questions, that the sportage “only” 6-7 L would consume and even though newspapers and forums DAS did not confirm. Nevertheless, I did a test drive with nevertheless not so amazing result. Before I started I drove the tacho and drove exactly 20 km and then from to the gas station and the BC nevertheless not so familiar: result: 10,4 l !!!! I drove AB with max. 120 and in the city anyway not faster than 60… Just find something sad… I confronted the seller with it (Kassenbon). His statement: The engine had to drive first 7000 km and then he would consume about 1 liter less… What a babbeler…. Ne, no.. I like the Kia visually, but a Tiguan is satisfied with 6-6.5 L and weighs as much… (but looks optically shit )

CarImage four wheel : Test Sportage vs Tiguan vs Qashqai
In the current issue AutoBild Allrad tests the gasoline versions of the VW Tiguan (160 hp) vs Nissan Qashqai (141 hp) vs KIA Sportage (163 hp). Quality impression in all three is good, VW uses the somewhat higher-quality materials. The Tiguan wins ahead of Nissan and Kia. Those who have ever driven in all three cars find the test in the bottom line ok. The Kia loses some points in comfort and engine performance. Otherwise, he is well judged, as the best in equipment/operation , safety, chassis, warranty, price/up-price design. The Kia is always the most affordable, equipment-like list price about 5,000,00 Euro cheaper than the VW, if you take the discounts into account it is even more. What is noticeable is that the sportage is classified with the insurance, especially with comprehensive, so unfavorable. In one point however, I can not agree with the testers, because the sportage gets the worst boot rating. The trunk of the Qashqai is also not bigger and can be loaded worse (loader edge). The trunk of the Tiguan is a bit more variable (back bench can be moved at extra cost) but also narrower than that of the Kia. Well, the next thing you want to store is the one time the other more practical. Anyway, it is all three neat cars, you can do nothing wrong (maybe you should buy the 136 HP diesel instead of the 163 HP Sportage petrol engine o the better still the 184 hp HP diesel ? The Kia with the strongest diesel engine is still cheaper than the VW with the weaker gasoline!). rolo

Sportage III Decryption VIN and serial number ?
Hello, have three questions about vehicle identification: 1.) The VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) can be found on the driver’s side under the wind protection side. Does anyone know what the letters and number sequence means ? 2.) The serial number is listed in the warranty booklet. Does anyone know where the “on the vehicle” is and what it says ? 3.) Is there in the vehicle registration or car letter somewhere an entry showing IF the car was built and the WHEN vehicle of this series it is ? V Thank you, if anyone knows ringino
