Dear forum participants, I intend to buy a economical car and have come across the Kia picanto. Unfortunately, the consumption values are not attractive. If I read about a consumption of 6 l, I am quite disappointed, because with my old Nissan Micra in the mix I do not get above 5.5 l. there are more economical cars (C1, Peugeot 107, Toyota aygo) The technology seems to have not got any further in this respect or the customers are not so interested in e in their low fuel consumption. I would be very interested in how much liters the diesel engine of the Kias consumes? I would be pleased about your contributions!

Hello, we bought a new Kia Picanto for 1200€ as a second car in Dec. 2011. The handover took place outdoors and in the dark, was very strange, I have never experienced this during a new purchase. The next day we found that everything was dirty in the right passenger door. The windscreen wipers lubricated from the beginning, since when three windscreen wipers were changed, a 53 € was taken off absolutely impertinent. Whether those were new from the beginning???? Also went the heating from Anf We were already 4 times in the workshop, of which 2 whole days were also photographed parts. Of course we did not get a replacement car which I always received from other cars. The heating is not possible to this day and this with a new car. The workshop wanted to register if it had an answer from Kia. This to 7 years warranty!!! Never more Kia, especially not with such a workshop in Cologne.

“Never again Kia”….. My 24-year-old daughter had a lot of pleasure with her now 3 1/2-year-old little Kia. But now at only about 43,000 km brake pads and more had to be changed, because this was all totally broken. (repair of some 100,– Euro….) Kia was completely unculant. They claim – contrary to all practice! – that this would be ‘normal’ with this km stand. This is definitely wrong. Also other Kia riders complain about the same problem! Be careful when buying the little Kia! The brake could be due long before the usual time…! And of Kia absolutely nothing is to be expected. Also Fa. Esthofer – where this vehicle was bought was not accessible to a kulant solution! Recommend to grab another small car!

Hello would have a short question to the KIA Picanto experts. My girlfriend drives a Picanto F/L 1.1 start of 2009 bought at that time. In order to keep the guarantee must be adhered to the inspections the first was on 16.12.2010 (11000km) there was only oil/oil filter and inside filter changed 97 Euro. Now on 07.01.2012 (15741km) the next, it was agreed that the bill amounts to 100 Euro if it would be more expensive the dealer had promised to My friend was totally shocked according to the dealer, the valve play had to be adjusted as well as it is on the bill valve cover seal 15 Euro oil filter 7 Euro spark plug 19 Euro oil 26 Euro cleaning and brake fluid 10 Euro 118 Euro wages without MWS My question can be that after only 15741km of running performance one (or several) spark plugs have to be replaced and the valve play will be adjusted Is it necessary?

I drove today with the Kia Picanto from my father 2 years old from köln ach Hamm! Everything is normal. about 100 km to Hamm. On the return trip about 20-30 km before Cologne went on once the engine check light when I quickly drove about 120-130 kmh. as soon as I went at 100 kmh she was stuccoed from behind the truck. And that was not even real 100 kmh because gps shows 90 kmh, because lkws driving with limit 90 kmh. And so I tucker around with real 90 kmh. What can the s a?? So everything is normal. Sounds etc. I gave it to my father who drives every day just to work with it. can that be that the car is not used to? So again what new. Hello, I would like to briefly describe my problem. About a year ago I bought a private checkbook Kia Picanto, who was only 2 years and 4 months old. In September 08 the 3 year warranty was extinguished. Now I was at the TÜV and would not have expected that I could not get the TÜV badge. The brakes were tested and it turned out that the brake at the rear right was no longer working. The man from the Tüv was also very surprised because the car was only 27,000 kilometers down and is just a little over 3 years old. He then said that it might come from the salt and that the whole thing just had to be made “accessible”, so a little greased and then the whole thing would run again, I should not let myself be mentioned, because you would like to tell young girls something else… For this reason I immediately drove to a Kia-contract dealer and told them the problem. Have you any idea if I could let the whole thing run on Kulanz? The guarantee has just expired for 5 months and I also bought myself an extra well-kept young car so that as a student I don’t have to pay for the workshop every few months… and now something like that… Suppose I don’t get a Kulanz anymore, would it be cheaper to run the whole thing over a Kia workshop and e.g. over ATU? Hello ! Would have liked to know your experience . Have the following problem : Picanto bought new from the dealer (2005). After that had to have due to warranty of course inspection in the workshop . When checking the oil level often established brown broth on the oil tail stick . After I then changed oil for the first time , I saw that the used oil was in a terribly bad condition . Saw out like clay broth . Valve covers and internals also dirty and full of oil charcoal . after 500 km again oil and filter changes made. After that no more clay broth, but the oil coal has NOT gone off. Question: Use KIA dealer especially bad oil? Are for this engine type annual oil change intervals too long? ( With my Suzuki this problem does not occur, also mainly short distance from 10 to 30 km) Have you had such a thing already? In the eye blicck has the Picanto condensation water only on the oil stick, so that I practice rlege,to ventilate the pipe to get the Melm out of it. Kind regards: Rostkläfer

I really like Picanto and Rio. Is 65 % driven in the city.. Should definitely be a petrol engine ! MA mother has the Picanto Cool of 2008, the only thing that bothers me there are the sun blinds, are there with every model the mirrors open ? I don’t know that only that one can close them, already a little irritates himself and his gestures in there always to see. How is that? at the Rio ? The Picanto Spirit or the Rio Spirit with comfort, function and sports package, can you say something about the things ? There are only about 1000 € difference between the two cars. Does anyone have experience with the automatic in the Picanto ?
