  • New Defender “Service & Adventure Pass”

Hello together, when last September a nice Defender advertisement fluttered into the house, I thought of something banal. Then I read something about free vehicle maintenance and an Adventure Pass. Mistrustfully read the text at least 2x, but actually… Now I would be interested if someone knows which years of construction – by the Defender ๐Ÿ˜‰ – are “affected” by this gift and whether someone has already taken advantage of or scheduled something despite the Sauwetter. I am curious ๐Ÿ™‚ Chr istian

  • Are all contract workshops like this?

I’ve been driving a Range Rover Sport for almost 3 years and I’ve had this checkbook maintained. The previous owner of my car dropped out of inspection and so I’ve had it made up for. All of this has cost thousands of Euros in the last years and I always had the feeling that I’m a petitioner and I have to accept that my car is just gone for a few days for such an inspection and no one can say how many – even if you have a The previous trip has been announced, then you have to exercise in patience and it cannot be said whether the car is finished. Now my car had “acute problems” with the brake pedal slips through, but brakes normally. Therefore I should bring the car by and they would push it “in between”. I brought the car to the workshop on Monday and until today Friday I just heard nothing – today I asked by mail and nothing… Could the not a little Is this normal for a contract workshop ? How do your workshops behave ?

Is enabled in the menu. When I park I always see the rear view. Lt. manual would have to be icons there if I tap on the camera. These arrows are missing in me , also the icon on the roof for the 360 degree view. Perhaps a software error ? Thanks for Tips Greeting Tom

  • Charging Range Rover to household socket?

By chance I read today that the charging cable for the household socket must not be connected to a multiple connector or an extension, because this can lead to damage or fire. Good to know. But: I have found out on the Internet that household sockets should not be used at all for charging. Although this charging is more gentle, there is fire risk! It is questionable whether this is covered by the insurance. I am very much concerned about this. wondered and wanted to ask you what you know about it or if it is current. Thank you!

  • Shock: New control chain 3 weeks after engine damage mt 90tsd km

Had to change the control chain 3 weeks ago at Discovery Sport 2.0l, TD4 150 HP, year 2016 at 90 tsd km (2600 Euro)! Now the engine was roaring up, full speed short smoke from engine room. Workshop says, runs only on 3 cylinders, cause still unknown, has nothing to do with the recent control chains repair. Cheapest (!) case head seal 2000 Euro, otherwise about 5000-10000 Euro desperation…

  • Brake at the back of Discovery Sport and Evoque: A misconstruction?

Hi, yes, very provocative title, I know. But one stumbles very often over the topic “brakes in the back totally rusted”, with the DS and also with the Evoque. And our DS does not look different (see picture #1). And from the inside it is even worse! There is almost everything rusted up to the middle. A very nice and competent LR expert told me that this is very often the case too and can only be improved with parts from the accessories. So now I have Brembo discs (0 8.C208.11) and coverings (P 86 029) for rear purchased and the small surfaces (gutschi-gutschi-guh!) placed on the disc to see if the “better fit” than the originals. And yes, they fit better, but there is still a damn wide strip left that is not braked (see pictures). I then made the effort to look at the dimensions of the other competitors, which are almost all identical. The largest are the ATE coverings, which are 1.6mm wider than B rembo (and the rest). But 1.6mm doesn’t save anything anymore… If you ask yourself who designed this braking system, where obviously the pads don’t fit the disc! The only positive thing about this is: changing the brake pads and discs is actually not much heavier than changing a wheel. And in the net, the parts cost about 50 euros for the pads and 75 euros for the discs, so 125 euros for the brakes at the rear complete. Then it’s not so bad, a 4 years to renew this misconception. What do you think? Greetings, Hauser
