  • Discovery Sport D165 / D200

Hello together, after Freelander 2 TD4 and Jaguar XE R-Sport 2.0d I have now a new Discovery Sport D165 R-Dynamic SE with a few extras (model year 2023). I informed myself in the days before the purchase and also after a little bit about the expected problems and mainly came up with the older engines with 150 and 180 hp. Problems – which probably do not occur with the Jaguar XE – are or were probably due to the fact that the diesel particle filter In any case, I can report that I have covered 80 TKMs with the XE without any problems and that oil changes idRs after 25 TKMs were made for two years of service. Now there was an accumulation of problems with control chains, oil dilution and increased metal abrasion (wear) in the oil at Discovery Sport, whereby “iron” (Fe) can probably only come from the control chain in numerous analyses. It also seems that all this is related. Thin oil, bad lubrication, wear Hot on the chain and poor passive particle filter cleaning. 1) Do you know whether Landrover has addressed the causes in the course of model maintenance and the gradual updates to the Ingenium aggregates? 2) What are the experiences of those with the “newer” variants D165 and D200, which have been on the road since May (?) 2021? 3) How early does the on-board computer call for an oil change? 4) Were there problems with the DPF or the control chain? 5) Has anyone already had an oil analysis? 6) Concretely: Has the position of the DPF and the DPF itself been changed? Unfortunately, I have not found out yet and hope for some – preferably many – feedback. BG Godric

  • TPMS does not detect RDKS

On my Disco Sport I had 4x Continental S180052076 RDKS sensors mounted on my 18″ original rims. I activated and tested them with a TPMS tool, the no. is displayed etc. (these are original JLR parts. GX63-1A159-AA / GX631A159AA). However, they are not recognized even after 500km. What can this be? Do I still have to program them (by OBD) somehow? Other sensors were detected immediately without any intervention after a few km.

  • Climate Control Blocks Display

Hello, we have the following problem with our pivi in our disco: See video or here: – Climate control switches itself into the foreground in the display – all other functions are then not operable – cameras, Navi, radio, carplay, etc no longer reachable – climate always comes back immediately – not reproducible, always appears sporadically – mostly after about 30 minutes – last update 2023. also finds no new – SIM is in and active – have already exchanged a cable t within the scope of a used car warranty. – probably all available updates were also recorded. But I also found no new LR Disco. – one does not seem to develop this further!? – this has made it worse. Dealers no longer react after the warranty has expired – LR does not see itself after lack indication in duty either. (Are tested since car has strong property shortages!) Does anyone know this problem? Thank you for hints. Best regards Sebastian

  • Purchase advice Discovery Sport Si4 – Experience with the gasoline engine?

Hello, I am interested in a Land Rover Discovery Sport Si4, which I recently visited. It is a model from April 2016 with 140,000 km of mileage and an output of 240 hp. I wanted to ask myself how reliable the gasoline engines of this series are. Are there known weak points or typical problems, to which one should pay particular attention? Are there experience values in terms of mileage, maintenance costs or possible engine problems? The test drive was good overall. The chassis made a solid impression, and the gearbox also switched smoothly. Nevertheless, I want to make sure that I don’t miss anything when I buy it. Has someone from the community already gained experience with this model or can give me tips on what to pay special attention to? Thank you in advance for your feedback! Best regards, Darko

  • Range Rover Sport SDV6 replacement engine – which years of construction fit?

Hey guys, I’ve got the shit on the steam right now, my 2013 RR Sport SDV6 engine has disassembled it COMPLETE, there’s nothing left of it.Here’s a video of the damage Now my question – what does the compatibility of the engines look like? I know that the TDV6 has a different oil tank than the SDV6, but I think that the engines are identical from the hull, is that right? That’s not my first TDV6/SDV6, so I come to this statement. I have an offer for a RR Sport engine from 2017 (Only the fuselage engine (block incl. piston/plug/kw/oil pump, cylinder heads and oil tank). My plan is to get the fuselage engine and plant it in my RR. On the photos, however, the oil pump looked different to my current engine. Now I wonder if at least the engine block and oil tank are completely identical between 2013 and 2017 … does someone have information or is so deep in the matter that it knows ?

  • Winter bikes – Velar P400e

Hello together, has someone already dealt with the purchase of winter bikes for the Velar P400e or already bought some? I am currently in the process of configuring winter complete bikes. I do not want to buy any Land Rover rims for cost reasons – I have a leasing contract for 36 months – but some of a third party. I only want to like the rims visually and the technical data is correct. This combination (mostly for the second reason) The problem is that I have to find suitable rims so far. In the vehicle registration there is the load index 111. This is already an announcement with regard to the tires. In addition, because of the relatively young age of my P400e /MY2022) I often find no ABE with the rims. And because of a single acceptance to the TÜV I would like to spare myself. Therefore the question in the round what did you get? Which tires and which rims? As an additional question of a reasonably Ah In the case of tires, why does the vehicle show the load index 111 and the tyres have 109 ex-works? I thought the load index should not be exceeded.

  • Discovery Sport: Blower (ventilation) failed

Hi, I missed the heater yesterday for the second time. More precisely, the blower/ventilation does not react. You can not heat or blow the windows free if they should. The same happened to me quite exactly a year ago, at that time you simply solved the problem by software update. Unfortunately, I need the car over the weekend and my workshop is not occupied on Saturday… Therefore, the question whether anyone knows a trick, how I have the ventilation can activate at short notice? (Maybe a SW reset or something….) Greetings, Hauser

  • Discovery Sport whimpering with fully beaten wheels

Hello I have had an LR Discovery Sport SE, Bj 9/15, with 12000 km and 180 hp engine since April 17. I have been logged into this forum for a short time, which I also read regularly with interest. Now to my problem, I turned to a turning hammer today, so with fully beaten front wheels a circle was driven. At the same time, it wummered strongly in the interior. (my wife then got out, from the outside the noise was not to be heard) I write times as I do not wummer the noise. I had the impression that the noise was coming from the front. There was nothing to hear about the next parking lot in the same attempt. When I was at home and drove a circle, the noise was back. This time it sounded like it would come from the back. Had the last 3000 km, so far I did not drive this noise. I was a little earlier with the mountain downhill aid e I drove down the dirt road, maybe that’s what it’s all about? But the downhill aid had already been out, I’ve been driving about 8 km without. Has anyone ever had the same problem? Does anyone know the cause? Thank you very much for your answers in advance.

  • Windscreen bar (driver’s side) released during the ride.

Hello everyone. When I sold my Audi Q7 4L and bought an LR Disco 2018, I thought I was going to have a problem and would have some rest in the future – as the car is guaranteed. Besides some problems that kch has already posted here – today a new one for which I need a quickfix – or a real fix (if I can do it myself). — During the ride into the summer holidays (at 150/170km/h) the above mentioned windshield bar has itself in front, on the driver’s side I have clicked them back again and again (not really audible click), but they broke away again and again, from the new one. Currently I have a repair stick bamd out, which is not so sexy. Is there a fix, abroad – or do I have to look here for a mechanic (LR Sevice)? Sanke and greet you all – beautiful, complaints free fairies..

  • New Activity Key – features, info, availability

Hi, with the new Defender and the Discovery, a new activity key is also entering the J/LR world. The thing doesn’t have much in common with the old one anymore. The old one: In fact, only for the “special occasion”. You leave your normal car lock in the car, take the AK and hold it to the “D” of the boot lid.The normal key is deactivated and is unusable until the AK is reopened (hold it back to the “D”). Unfortunately, the whole thing is very slow. Advantage: Ke The new one: With display, battery life about 1 week, “replaces” the car lock, has additional features (e.g. control of the auxiliary heating). The two pictures I have stolen from the “New Defender Owners Group” on Facebook “. The owner said the key is unfortunately without any instructions, not intuitive and the “wipe” quite tacky. Apparently it is no longer available at the moment, at least in Canada, buyers receive an email from J/LR Canada ” We are aware that the Activity Key is not available in Vista at this time. Long story short, it was removed by the UK some time ago…the UK telling us that it would be gone for the recall of the model year.” Does anyone here have more information about the new Key or its availability (in Germany)? Greetings, Hauser
