Hello, actually wanted to buy me a MX 5 of the years 200-2002 and I already looked at several cars in the price range between 3.500 – 4.500 EUR. Unfortunately, all of them have a bigger problem with rust on the thresholdrs and the trunk cover. Since here also some repair costs come together again, I once informed myself about alternatives and found out among other things on the Fiat Barchetta. Is also a nice wack and would have the advantage for me that I because of its 10 cm smaller length get better into the garage. Now I wanted to ask if one of the experienced MX 5 drivers has also had experience with the Barchetta here or if someone can say why he has reached for the MX 5 and not for the Barchetta…. One reason is certainly the rear drive of the MX 5, which should apparently fit better with a roadster than a frontler….

MX5 NC – DSC uses way too early
Hello! I had new tyres (Hankook) installed at the rear and had the track adjusted again. After that the DSC started in every reasonably fast driven curve. The workshop (not Mazda) then checked the track measurement again and changed the tyre mark to Dunlop. After that it seemed good – but now it occurs again from time to time and the road position is also quite “swimming” even on a straight track at higher speed. My workshop is with its narrowness at the end and send me to the Mazda workshop. On telephone request at 2 workshops, however, this problem seems to be the first and correspondingly the statements (“can you do nothing”, “is there different scope of the new to the used wheels ahead”????) Can anyone give me a tip from you? Does anyone know this problem and where it comes from? Thanks for help / hint! Andreas

MX-5 as a everyday car
Hello, I’m looking for a car for my girlfriend. She has to drive 20km to work (and back again) soon. I thought that a MX-5 could also be considered for this. Would a MX-5 be recommended for this? annual mileage max. 17,000km there is also a hard top for the MX-5, because the car is also driven in winter. I also thought about a gas conversion. did someone have it done? Which years of construction are especially recommended and which ones are not? Thanks already In advance, David

Rx 8 Revolution
Hello dear engine talk community I’ve been looking for a new car for a long time, but there are far too many and all have advantages and disadvantages… Unfortunately I have to admit that I definitely fall in love with the RX-8 from the interior and the exterior design, but I find the consumption of the circa 11-15 liters relatively high … is this a realistic indication? However, I am very concerned with things like “work city costs” , and the reliability of the engine just the wobble I’m worried. Do the horror stories about extremely expensive repairs? Besides, I saw a RX-8 with an LPG upgrade at the dealer’s store a few days ago, isn’t that very daring with a Wankel engine? or really no problem? How much would you recommend as a KM performance when buying? Would Super Whom someone could share their experience values with the car Ps. I drive about 25-30 km to work a day, most of the highway ..

Mazda MPV Diesel reports error P00200!
Hello all, I hope you can help me. Since about 1 month our MPV spins, he suddenly goes into the emergency program during the ride and then turns off only 1,500 rpm engine, 5 minutes wait and continue the ride. How long this goes well is different, between 8 km and 80 km we have already experienced. The increase to this error is the exit of the engine during the ride. The workshop has read the error, it is called P00200, injection nozzle – circuit error. Cleaning of the nozzles as well as a cloaking of a cast cable did not bring any improvement. Yesterday he went out 3 times in a row on a distance of 15 km in a construction site! Does anyone know the problem and if so, how to fix it? For your efforts I thank you in advance, because we want to drive the MPV to Croatia next week.

MX-5 NBFL: After cleaning the throttle valve –> Reset control unit
Hello all, with my old Golf 3 the cleaning of the throttle valve helped extremely much. Especially in the load operation with switched on climate. For this I had removed the throttle valve and cleaned of the resinous oil residue, which have been fixed by the engine block ventilation and suction over the years. In the idle is after all only a minimal gap between the flap and the channel… this gets too, tries the control unit over time always to regulate. If one cleans it, must ma n to reset these values by a certain procedure..be in the Gulf it went like this: quote / copy from the following link:http://www.motor-talk.de/…/…rosselklappe-reinigen-t427792.html?…” for about 5-10 minutes the battery is disconnected so that the control unit loses the learning values. the control unit is now forced to re-learn the values completely. after the battery is connected the ignition must be switched on for about 5 minutes without running the motor. you can now also hear how the throttle valve adjusts. after the five minutes you have to run the motor again for 5 minutes….very important… WITHOUT GAS!!!! then let the car run for 5 minutes in the stand gas. after about 50 kilometers the learning process should then be completed.” What is the procedure for the MX-5?

MX 5 Change wheel bearings yourself?!
My wheel bearing at the front left of the MX 5 NB FL 11/2003 makes a lot of noise. Workshop offer is between 480€ and 410€ for wheel bearing + installation. Spare part costs at IL Motorsport at 99€, original Mazda part 210€. Car has ABS and only 19000 KM, bought used before 1000km over private Can you do the work yourself? I already read in another topic that it is not too difficult. I have no lift. Torque wrench can be organized, or which Bereic h is needed to put on? Does the track have to be set after the change? Can you pick up the car with the jack and do everything yourself? What do you have to pay attention to or rather let the professional get there? Can the sound come from a adjusted track and thus mischievous tires, have read something similar. mfg
