  • MX 5 NC 1 Change rear shock absorber

    Hello, I’m new here at the Mazda Forum and would like to introduce myself briefly. I’m 58 years old and since my youth repair everything that doesn’t get away fast enough. I have once learned R&F technicians, so can also power and electrics. Timing belts, control chain, gears in and out and similar things go all over the home pit. Although is cramped but works. Now to my new project. Daughters has broken both shock absorbers at their Mazda MX 5 NC1 from 2008 back. Lose oil ! Driving behavior From 120 km/h I’m in need of getting used to it. I have a few questions: after only 8 years of shock absorbers I don’t know at all. Does this happen more often with this type? Which shock absorbers can you recommend? Do you still need small goods? ( so rubbers that come under the dome bearing or similar? What to do? Springs tighten. Upper crossbars unscrew and shock absorbers out, done?   • Mazda MX-5 NC / Little space, right?

    Hello, years ago I used the NA MX-5 (first model 1989). I never had the impression that the MX-5 offers little space. Also the seat was comfortable and fit. Due to the new special model Mazda MX-5 Mithra I dabbled today to the Mazda dealer. I found the seat sample disappointing. Somehow the whole car seems a lot tighter. Middle tunnel is very wide, but also the left and right footroom is smaller. I also didn’t feel comfortable with the seats. ?? Has the car actually narrowed down in the third generation? Too bad the dark red mithra would not be bad. However, I am a bit disappointed by the unscrupulous cover that is still thrown back by hand (unfortunately not electrically). Unfortunately, the openings on the left and right remain unsightly when folded in. Why does the mithra not exist with the metal folding roof…???? How do you feel about the space available?   • Strong smoke generation after head seal change

    Hello I changed the head gasket with my MX5 Bj 92 US Model 150000km due to a slight oil loss. I also let the head plan and made the valve shaft seals and head screws new. After about 2 weeks and 300 km the engine squirts extremely and after the smell it burns oil.The engine has power and does not rattle. Can help me with this problem. In advance already many thanks.   • mazda 6 consumes oil and squirts very strongly

    Hello Forumgemeinde. I have a Mazda 6 2.0 diesel bj. 2003. I have the following problem, it consumes quite a lot of oil at the moment and it also exhales very strongly. Tags over it looks as if it is only soot, but in the dark when a car drives behind me and I see the smoke in the spotlight is somehow bluish. Now my question what could it be. My suspicion is head seal, but am not sure if I am right there. Thanks already for your help.

  • “Vibration damper” defective on the front axle ???

    Hello people ! I’m new here and I have a concern at the moment. I acquired the first Mazda in my life. A 6 Sport Kombi 1.8 GG1 from 2006. Before buying at the DEKRA on stage from below. I only got a fresh TÜV in April. Now in August we found out that this round thing (red arrow) is loose. Like a bushing with rubber. At the front axle on the crossbar left. The DEKRA man said this was a vibration damper and no problem I hope that one of the professionals can help us. Otherwise I still have to be friendly.   • Air conditioning problem – Mazda 626 2.2i DG BJ90

    Hello, I drive a Mazda 626 2.2i GD built in 1990. Well, suitable for the summer, my air conditioning is on strike. Together with a cold chill I wanted to refill the system, because we suspected a leak. Unfortunately, the system did not suck in a refrigerant. The KAB meant that the system is probably clogged at the dryer or in the capillaries. Now I wanted to open up without the circuit, because the system is still filled with R12 and this expert has to be disposed of, which So I screwed on the glove compartment and now I can’t get any further. Behind the glove cover is a black box in which, to my knowledge, the capillary can be found. But unfortunately, I can’t open the box. Now to my question: Can I open the box only in extended condition? If I’ve seen this correctly, it’s a screw-down of the back and back cooling pipe in the engine compartment and thus an opening of the cooling circuit. necessary, right?   • Brakes

    In the last 14 days I had twice the case that I had the feeling on the brake pedal when braking just before the stop, the ABS went on. Just a quick jerk. I bought the car in November 2017 (because my beloved old 626 got no TÜV anymore) The brake fluid, brake discs and pads were made new. The ABS usually does not work at this speed and otherwise it brakes quite normal, even if I make a full braking. It is a 626 GF year 1998. 2.0, 116, PS 223,000 km Has anyone ever had such a thing?   • Mazda 3, Diesel no longer starts

    Good evening, I drive a Mazda 3, year 2006, Diesel, 109 Ps and I have the following problem: 3 days ago I stopped in the yard of an acquaintance. I thought I accidentally drove the tank completely empty, although according to my computer I could have driven 60 km. Anyway the engine went off. (I know, should not happen with a diesel). I go to the next gas station, get a canister and fill the tank with diesel, car jumps like I think about it, I think about it. However, I realized that the engine was running smoothly, but I was not sure if it was like that before or was caused by it. Anyway, I was able to drive again for the last 2 days without any problems (certainly 150-200km), so I didn’t think about it any more and because of the restless running of the engine I wanted to go to the workshop this week. This morning then the event. I start the car, engine jumps o I start the engine again and then straight out again. Then I try it again and the engine doesn’t work anymore.
