  • Mini version

Hello, I’m going to get a new car in the next few weeks. There’s also a mini in question. I’m just not sure if it’s going to be a diesel or a gasoline engine. How are your experiences with the engines. 110ps diesel –> indoor noise, consumption, costs, processing, 95 / 120 hp petrol: engines and, if necessary, thru, consumption, processing Would be very much like the petrol engine, as I drive about 15 tkm a year, maybe I come to 17 tkm. In particular, I would be interested to know how the vehicle will be used. rearbeitung is – so “klappermühre” seats … and fit in the trunk really 2 boxes of beer?? Thank you for your answers in advance Christian ps: with intention did not mention the other vehicles, which have come into the short choice to avoid further discussions

  • Extremely loud running noise at Mini Cooper

With my girlfriend’s Mini Cooper (Beziner BJ2003) an extremely loud running noise makes itself noticeable which increases in intensity with increasing speed. It is comparable to if you had bad tires on it that are extremely loud or have something unbalanced. The loudness is usually quite violent, I think that’s how it sounds when you drive over the highway with a tank (from inside ) with 100. Strangely enough, the car drives completely normal and outside hears m When we bought the car the noise was already there, the previous owner said it was because he changed the winter tyres from the rear to the front and because it sounded like a tire running noise we didn’t really worry about it. Since now the noise is still present in the summer icing I was a bit skept What else could that be? Wheel bearings worn? Track rod heads?

  • 17 inch tires Non-runflat

Hello, I have a question and please: Who of you drives 205/45/17 Non Runflat on a mini. What kind of brand you drive and what exact type designation, e.g. with XL or without. I have Dunlop Sport Maxx in 205/45/17 88W XL, and have the suspicion that the reinforced tire(XL) does not fit the car. Please write briefly, what kind of mature you ride, best thanks and sunny greetings Andreas

  • Mini or Beetle?

Hello! I’m in front of the decision New Beetle Convertible 1.4 or Mini Cooper Convertible. Does anyone have any experience with both models? I’ve already tested them both and now the decision is almost more difficult for me. I’m very happy with both of them – but with the Beetle I’m slightly ill. But that’s not because of my driving white. As a woman, of course, you look at whether the car is also practical and easy to operate. After a test drive, sic leaves behind h of course not much to say. What about follow-up costs? (fuel consumption, service…) In advance: I can park quite well in parallel, but what about the overview for both – do the fenders hinder the beetle? Thanks in advance for the answers!

  • Steering wheel tremors at 80-100 km/h

Hello, with the change from winter to summer tires I also had the Runflat tires exchanged for Non Runflat tires. Since then I have between 80 and 100 km / h a slight vibration in the steering wheel. After everything I found in the net, this seems to be a balancing problem. So back to the tyre dealer. He has then after the front wheels after. Unfortunately this did not succeed. So once again all four wheels were balanced and the rear ones were made on top of it. L the steering wheel still trembles slightly between 80 and 100 km/h. It is not as strong as at the beginning to feel and not always, but now and then. The tyre dealer says that he can’t do more. Can this be due to something else and if so what or is this normal with the sports suspension? Since the shaking is not so strong and also not always occurs, I also thought about leaving it. I can’t drive constantly to balance. ? My mini is a cooper from 07/05 with sports suspension. He has original Mini-LM rims with 205 / 45 / R17 on it. On Monday the little one must anyway because of the clutch to BMW. Does it make sense to have this checked there? I have often heard that BMW dealers are not so competent in tyre questions and then tell me that I have to make run flat tires on it again. Thank you for your help.

  • What do you think of the new MINI with electric drive?

Hello Motor-Talk, would you like to have a MINI E with an elektor drive? More information about the MINI E is available here:A new experience – driving pleasure without emissions: The MINI E. With 204 hp power the MINI E drives at least about 240 km. So sounds quite suitable for everyday use. Greetings, Chriss

  • Cooper Cabrio also suitable for winter

Hi, after a longer anonymous “mitgelese” I decided to register here. So first a hello to the Mini Turn Now I would also give a bit of support to my decision-making: We are thinking about buying a new second car in the next few months. The car should be small and fun. I am quite right about the Mini – I think. Now I’ve tried the new Cooper Cabrio. Quite great, I (also my wife, even the Children) are (are) enthusiastic, my belly says buy. Nevertheless, I’m not sure yet. The car is moving on the highway, the first test with the demonstration vehicle was a bit sobering there, it gets quite loud, although the cover was closed, and clatters! (The seller says, there is something wrong and will have the car checked). Also, I don’t know how the convertible behaves in winter. What do you mean? Drive your Mini Cabrio all year round and have fun. or should you rather not run a mini convertible in winter? Then I would have to switch to a closed Cooper – but I don’t want to Maybe someone is so nice and has an opinion or some advice for me? That would be great… Another question would be if it had to be the new model or the older one was enough. But here I have already learned that it is 2 lags. And my wife fell in love with the color combination Horizon Blue + Hot Chocolate (Leather Lounge, and Deck), so the question on this topic is really unnecessary — Greeting Dirk

  • Your Mini (2001-2006)

The magazine “Autotest” will soon carry out a used car test of the Mini (2001-2006) and will also quote opinions of the mini-drivers of MOTOR-TALK. If you would like to contribute to this, I would simply ask you to reply to the following brief statements: 1. Your Mini: Year of construction, model and motorization? 2. How many kilometers did you drive with it and what part does urban traffic have? 3. Number of required workshop stays/costs: too small, appropriate or too high? 4. Do you particularly like the Mini …? 5. Do you particularly resent the Mini …? 6. Would you buy the Mini again? I am happy if one or the other takes part. Please don’t write too much, short quotes have the chance to be published (at least if they are representative).

  • MINI Diesel at minus temperatures

This morning on the way to the company – minus 18 degrees. My Mini Clubman Diesel remains after about 10 kilometers of driving distance on the highway. Trying to start – it starts and drives again about 500 meters. Stand still again. Star attempt 2 – it starts and drives again 200 meters. Then it is absolutely over with Funny. Nothing can be done. The BMW/MINI breakdown service can only be reached after about 50 election repetitions. Statement: I can’t help you there; this is today the vi The best way to get to the next workshop is to have another call at the breakdown service – here I get information – we can order a towing service, but you have to pay for it yourself. My MINI is now one year old and in the guarantee phase. Nevertheless – according to the employee at the MINI-PANNENSERVICE this has nothing to do with guarantee. It is to KALT for a DIESEL. FAZIT: HANDE WEG VOM MINI DIESEL if he is driven even in winter I will sell the MINI CLUBMAN DIESEL as soon as possible and buy a winter-friendly car. e.g. VW GOLF. That’s it with MINI CLUBMAN DIESEL at minus 18 GRAD!! SCHAD and I liked it soooo. As a pure summer car it is a bit too expensive for me. These lines just to think about – it could get a little colder again. Greetings Jakob
