Hi, I’m looking for a replacement for my BMW E46 320D Touring from 2002, which also offers space for my very little travelling family with 2 children. Besides some other car, I noticed now the Mini Clubman, which I have to stand over the weekend to the test on the yard. That this now offers less space than the 3er Kombi, is clear to me, but it could just be enough. The child seats with children find enough space in the back, the trunk is attached. Well, since I really like to ride sports, I don’t want to deteriorate in terms of performance. I know from that time that the Mini Cooper S had 163-170 hp at the beginning, and the compressor wanted to see plenty of fuel. Today the Turbo-S is supposed to require significantly less fuel. My questions would be: 1) How much consumption do I have to expect on average (50% rural road, rest of city shopping) ? 2) is the engine vulnerable or durable ? 3) what is it about the quality ordered ? 4) because it becomes a used model: How do I recognize the newer engine, what else do I have to pay attention to ? 5) what about the automatic? 6) how useful is the switch from the 2002 BMW 320d 140tkm to a 2008 Mini Clubman S (from quality, image and sprint view) ? I perceive the Mini as serious and trendy, but sometimes also as a small car of the polo class. Who can help with practical advice from own experience ?

Works Cabrio vs 135 i Cabrio
In the current sports car, the Mini wins the comparison against the 135i convertible. What I can’t understand, however, is the stated consumption. Both the average and the minimum consumption are clearly below. They have to have an extremely heavy right foot for sports car, otherwise I can’t explain the stated consumption there. Markus

Finally I am rid of him!!!
Hello Mini friends, ;o) I do not waste any more time and money for this qualitatively very bad car. Due to the following additional costs and a lot of trouble/time have passed me in the last 3.5 years the Mini Cooper drive. 8000TDK – window lifter defective 9000TDK – brake caliper defective 15000TDK – window washers lubricate inside and outside 20000TDK – window lifter defective 23000TDK – clutch defective + gearbox 30000TDK – exhaust totally rusted 33000TDK – steering rods defective 40000TDK – central defect 60000TDK – 2. Exhaust complete rusted 67000TDK – failure of the pathpeer (by the way already 5 times number plate stub changed) 70000TDK – solid disks still lubricate (BMW does not get the problem in the grip) The car is in my opinion the biggest scrap that there was to buy at the time for 26900 Euro. Well as long as we or I have to sell for “dumb” everything is fine – I will never get such a box for my side again. now switched to Audi (TT 8J) – does not want to compare it with Mini only in one point – there you get quality for your money. all the others still many nice hours with the Mini. Greetings

who drives non-runflat winter tires and is satisfied?
@all, I asked a really important question for us as in the title. We don’t keep the Runflat winter tires (apparently from the first, hard generation) on our S and think about switching to non-RFT. But I don’t want to be unpredictable driving behavior. We drive the 16 inch Brigde Spoke and they want to continue using them. So there are drivers of 16 inch winter tires called!! So the question: who has some on it, is satisfied and drives which brand and A usführung??? You would help me very much, because the mini customer service is totally overwhelmed!! They have no approval for winter tyres without RFT and therefore do not come out with usable information. Thanks Klaus

ESP as standard?
Question: does the Mini “Seven” have ESP as standard or is that equivalent to ASC-T? Brisanter background to my question: Did a fire brigade operation, a serious traffic accident, a BMW “Mini Seven” came into the banquet, then to the counterroad, where he stood across and the incoming VW Passat hit the driver’s door, the mini driver was dead on the spot. Can it be that despite ESP, a vehicle crosses through a driving error??? Or can it be that the driver has made a full braking and at the same time directed sharply to the right? Does the ABS overdrive the ESP (ESP wants to prevent the vehicle from turning, but ABS says “Full braking is braking with maximum force, ESP no longer has any influence”? Who has relevant experience with ESP, for example, driving safety training?

Driving behaviour Works with 18 Inch
Unfortunately, only the days have time to test the works extensively with the 18 customs officers. Had to read here that some of them do not. However, my experiences have revealed exactly the opposite. Although the Gokart feeling is minimally less to be felt, but the car is incredibly confident on the road, especially with the serial suspension that I have in it. The suspension comfort is absolutely top and the car no longer feels like small cars. N absolutely track-resistant, also during braking and for track grooves. No trace of the laid down nervousness described. Must mention, however, that I have mounted 5 mm distance discs all around each wheel. Therefore, only anyone can recommend to test the combination. Hard to believe, how the character of the mini changes due to different suspensions and wheel combinations. I also like the 18 inch wheel quite well optically, even if the car can lie still a good 1 – 2 cm lower e. Would not want to lower the works. Markus

I can’t really do much with the extras.. do you have to have them? At the 2nd vehicle we find the mileage about 20k less and then still 1 year and 4 months younger with warranty.. unfortunately without winter tyres but also cheaper.. The 1 ride with “more equipment”(?) is appealing already, but somehow the price is also exaggerated since private person or completely ok? What do you mean? I can’t guess that. Because of the extras. I am very grateful for every tip. Greetings Mad

Mini Concept Crossover at Paris Salon
On the one hand, very sweet, but then I ask myself again: who needs something like this? Can’t a normal mini without a four-wheeler? Seen at http://www.automobile-magazine.fr/actualites/scoops/mini/mini_concept_crossover
