  • NB – roof cut & radio stolen

    Hello, I first landed in the wrong forum, here again : Hello you love, unfortunately my trip to Rome became a horror trip, because they cut off the roof at the airport and took away my only 2 weeks old navi. I am partially cascade insured, with 150SB. The thieves have enjoyed everything. From navi, over jacket in the trunk, first aid kit, yes even the scent plugs are gone. Has one of you experienced this before? Will the insurance fix the roof rather or replace it? A patched it roof I find disgusting! Add two photos! Thanks for your help

I am actually more interested in Caterhams and Elisen, but the test drive of the MX-5 ND with 131hp was not even so bad in hindsight and now I wanted to ask how empty I would probably get a MX-5 NC. And how much weight could be reduced. Traffic fitness/TÜV should always be preserved. Passenger seat should always be preserved. It’s just about trimming the MX-5 towards Elise from the weight. Start: All unnecessary out, carpets, door panels, insulation material, floor mats. Stereo radio can stay inside (does the MX-5 work more than stereo?). Passenger seat should stay inside. What can you remove there? 1000-1050kg? Possible?Second Start: Replace the chair with lighter? Radio out, air conditioning out (heating may stay). Remove the roof, central locking on individual locks? Replace windows with lighter ones? Still with cranks or the same Nothing at all? Lighter exhaust?Third attempt: roof off, is that allowed? So that everything can be enjoyed like disc wipers and stuff.Power steering? Who the hack needs that with less than 1000kg ? Under 900kg? Possible? Would you like to hear your opinion?   • MX 5 engine clacks when it is warm ?

    Hello, I bought a MX5 used with 180tkm. In the short test drive where I did at that time everything was ok. Now it’s so that when I drive about half an hour or so the engine starts to clap, as if there was too little oil in it or anything else. I have no explanation for this already googled, and only defective valves and bearing damage found. But if I had one of them, the condition would have to be permanent or not? Unfortunately I caught a model (according to the vehicle Ident-Nr) which is susceptible to bad valves. Currently I drive little with the car, I want to know first what this is before I possibly break more? Can I find out anything as a layman? What still strikes me, the tires all 4 drive off strongly on the inside, it is a coiled suspension inside, the rear tires also look almost as if they were not straight but slightly inclined to the outside.. Should I pump in more air? Can I adjust what? Another thing… There are tires on it that I don’t find in the vehicle license, but according to the seller everything would be registered. So it’s probably up to 225, but there are 215 on it. I still have 2 years TÜV but I don’t want to drive around with things that I may not be allowed to have.

  • Brake

    I have now renewed the brakes out of boredom at my nb back. Discs incl. receipts. Now I drove some in. But somehow my left brake caliper is stuck in the back. Have set the adjusting screw again so that the hand brake is loose. But after a few km the saddle starts to clamp again. Felge gets warm/hot and you smell it. What can be broken now?

  • Purchase advice MX 5 NB (FL) around 2000€

    Good day community, I’m new here and I’m currently looking for a Mazda MX5 NB for approx. 2000€. My budget as a student is narrowly limited. What do I have to pay attention to? As I’ve noticed, rust seems to be a problem around it. Is there any other motor technology besides the timing belt to consider? Does anyone have experiences with high running performance beyond the 150000km? Thank you for any help!

  • Vibration and whistle noise in rain

    With my CX 60 Built. 2023/07 in rain from about 130 kmh a annoying whistle noise, which sucks badly. The tires are not, already changed. Now we have found by chance that it stops, when I fold the mirrors electrically, is of course no solution at 150 on the highway. Does anyone have experiences there? I have almost 40 Tkm down and am only so semi-enthusiastic, total failure after 12 Tkm was already there, with engine damage!

  • Speed drops strongly while stopping.

    Hello, I drive the 323F BJ VI 1.6l 98hp, built in 2001 I think the ZM engine is. My problem is that the speed in a stand for 2-3 seconds drops quite far, so about 200 – 300 rpm and again rises to normal 700 rpm. The error reading at Mazda showed no errors. My workshop had cleaned the throttle valve however, which did not fix the error. What could that be? Have about a year ago air filter replaced with K&N filter but it is clean. Thanks for r all tips

    Hello, this is this vehicle here: Autoscout24 – I don’t have much money at the moment (students) and therefore look in this price category for something useful but not too undermotorized Who makes a pretty good impression on me, just the TÜV is due, the paint looks not so good on the photos and he has some rust spots I think (wheel runs inside, side skirts below)… I would like to put the car on a lift during a visit of course I don’t know exactly what is being looked at at at the TÜV and whether the car is still in a usable condition or whether I buy a craft shop here where I am more repairing than driving (have had very bad experiences with a rover). it is worth driving with the car to the TÜV and having a “used car check” for just under 70€ or is it better if I have a mechanic with me?
