  • Buying advice Mini Clubman S vs Countryman S vs X1

    Hello, we are planning to order a new car in Dec., there is a choice: Mini Clubman S , Countryman S (without 4all) or a BMW X1(sDrive 2.0d) Now we are currently 2, maybe this will change over the next 2-4 years therefore a slightly more spacious car should come from, so far we have the normal Cooper S (are also satisfied with the car) now the question would be what do you think about it? Still our favorite : Clubman S (real Mini) unfortunately also doesn’t have really large luggage compartment like a Polo v ichlichicht. But offers a lot of driving fun ß unfortunately I find the entrance to the back over the clubdoor not so much, a real 4 doorr is better there already especially if you have to invite a child and fasten it. (Gives here good experiences in things Clubman with pram or baby shell, etc) (list price 34t€) X1 is of course a completely different car looks high quality (vs Countryman) at least from the cockpit is certainly also most expensive…(driving fun a la Mini is of course not comparable) Problem that there are no smart petrol engines with BMW (no X1 2.8 forks also sporty diesel is only available as xDrive… Luggage compartment and space is good (list price 45t€) Countryman is from the outside ok unfortunately the cockpit looks so cheap (KIA, Hyunday and Co) let greetings that we really don’t want it at all, of course I have to say from the driving feeling, he drives like a mini you notice very direct steering Sporty etc… clap and creak out of the Cockpit was already listening during the test drive… .. trunk and space is good (list price about 36t€) now I look forward to your comments …. : -)

  • Door lock driver’s side no longer opens!

    Hello, at our Mini Cooper Bj 2004 we have the following problem: I opened the car in the morning to get in with the remote control. Everything went without problems and we could open the doors and enter. When we arrived after 2 km at our destination and I turned off the engine, I accidentally touched the button locked on the remote control. At that moment my passenger had already tried to open the door which however failed. So I pressed open and my car was closed. driver could open his door without any problems. Only I can’t open the driver’s door anymore!! Neither from inside nor from outside… Although I didn’t do anything at all at the door at the moment. I have already dismantled the interior cladding today and you can also see that the bowden train is completely in order. But the door lock has to be permanently closed. I can’t explain it otherwise! But even with the key I can’t get it. t more open. As always, it just doesn’t turn on. Can it be that when I touch the remote control, I messed up something in the control unit, actuator or wherever?

    Hello Minifriends! After 4 years Mini Cooper Hatch we have now bought a Clubman. I definitely can’t confirm that the “Gokart feeling” is unchanged. The driving behaviour was very sporty in the R50 in my opinion. You could almost race around the “corner” already. (with org. suspension without a sporty suspension tuning) That’s why we did not do it at the Cluman. – and now!? – looks stupid (also with 18″Cross Spoke) and doesn’t drive so great. Today he goes deeper to lay down. n to BMW with Eibachfeder 30/20mm. I hope that’s enough – I’ll tell you more.

    Hello, I drive a Mazda Demio Built. 2000 1.5L, Rungle. 95tkm. My problem is: The first gear is often difficult to get inside. Sometimes it works well and sometimes I have to beat it in. If the engine is warm, then the improvement is only slight. When the gear is backwards, it is just like that! If the gear is rolling, then the gear goes in without resistance. But in the stand I feel a great resistance if I want to take the first gear. That is very often the case and mega annoying. In other gears give I changed the gear oil three months ago and I did it fully. 75W-90 filled by Mannol and transmission additive from L. Moly. No improvement! Now I think about whether I should put in the gearbox ATF III Dexron, because I think that the synchronous rings may no longer grip. That would make the thick ATF remedy (maybe ?). What I also plan to do is to roll the gear. The gear lever has 2-3 cm in all gears. Neulic h I sprayed blind-humid spray grease on the rods under the car, but did not notice any difference.
