What would you do in my place?
Hi we take at you have a little bit of money over, so 350€ + annual tax compensation 2001 (net much) and drive a small C180 ́97, had before a W124 300E and could almost cry if you see a 300E on the road, or even on the highway easily overtake you and you in your C180 sit and think “Yes earlier, before there was everything even better” =) well, now to the point : I know not if so good was to have bought a C180. PRO: I did not want to have a 1300DM DM in the year tax pay and not all 1000KM 1liter oil or have a consumption of 15-20litres, therefore the C180. CONTRA: I say it’s actually full ok the small, little PS, little space, no 6zyl. sound, no seat heating, no sliding roof and and and… but it comes with niveu from A to B. in the last year I really got used to it! also pay only 92€ tax in the year and the consumption is also ok I come over 350KM with a tank filling =). I’m just ma 22 years young have a “normal” job and actually want to go net for the car. Now finally my question: Should I put the charcoal in the C180 and make it really chic, or sell (with loss without ending) and then buy me another 6zyl. C280? finally it’s my decision, but I’m so cunning! what would you do ? thxle and sry for the eternal confusing text =) date eater:http://www.motor-talk.de/attachment.php?s=&postid=128145

massive rust infestation; need tips for argumentation
a strong hello to everyone! … I have a “lieblingstante”, which drives a c180 meanwhile the car is 8 years and 2 months the service booklet is exemplary, every service was made at dc, maximum 500km deviation to date 80% of the km performance was done in the city area now the car is covered by rust bubbles at the driver’s door at the bottom left at both front wheelboxes at the trunk cover the last service was made in februar 2009 5 days ago the car was at home e washed and polished and there were the rust spots discovered 2 days later we are with the car to the “friendly” that have kept the car for a day, cleaned, polished again, cleaned inside and then were taken pictures; today came the telephone agreement that the rust story “comes from the outside”, so no kulanz if it really is so, then “shit happens” there should be arguments, then please tell me this with ps.: I once had a r5-gt-tur bo; he only had rust after 10 years; I am of the opinion that a daimler should be stainless for as long …. and if that is “normal”, then cheers;

Sale of my used / problems
Hello forum, I’m thinking about a short question: I sold my used car 4 days ago. (about 10 years old) The buyer has tried driving, looked at the car and made a purchase contract with me. All details have been held, handed over the papers etc… Now the buyer calls me and says that the clutch is no longer the best and that the car allegedly had an accident damage. I bought the car “accident-free” used, documents exist, would In my time, no accident happens either. Accordingly, the car is accident-free from my point of view. The buyer now threatens with a lawyer because of these points. What is ahead of me? What can happen to me, what do you think? Thank you for your help and quick answers.

Sequentronic!
Sequentronic! Who has experience? I have the intention of getting an MB sports coupe with Sequentronic soon, of course only after a detailed test drive. But this is already clear: An automated manual transmission (and something else is not) can not be compared to an automatic transmission with converter. BUT! Sound argument for Sequentronic are beside the price (plays for a convincing STERN driver actually no role, hi) convincing advantages g egenover the automatic transmission: Since there is no converter, there is also no power consuming slip, the translation after a gear change between the engine and transmission is always 1:1 ! Moreover, there is no fuel consumption in contrast to the automatic! And last but not least, the full final speed as with the manual manual transmission remains available. That the Sequentronic builds on top of that and is lighter than the automatic transmission, plays at DER Gewichtsk Are I right about all of this? I would be interested in more experiences about this! Perhaps MERCEDES has played at Sequentronic again and made it even better! Has anyone already had experiences with a model from 2003? Write! Greetings, Thomas from F.

Lifetime C 230 Compressor engine
Hello, what experiences/information do you have with the life of the C230 compressor engines (w202). Drive an EZ 1999 with now 100,000 km (automatics), only long distance and all inspections. The workshop said that I would have to look for a new vehicle so gradually, because mine would soon be at 120,000 km and that is the “magical border”. But I don’t see why this should be, because I care for my car and never give gas before the engine is warm. How much can you do without bigger e Repairs on this machine? I would be grateful for tips! Greetings to you Mr. Winthorb

Report of the independent heating system C 280 / W204
So far (C200K/W203) Bin So far a C200 compressor with factory built-in auxiliary heating was driven and was enthusiastic about the auxiliary heating – after 30 min the car was heated even at outside temperatures under 0 Grand to T-shirt temperature. Apart from the start time I did not have to adjust anythingNow (C280 /W204) auxiliary heating no longer factory order bar -On recommendation from Mercedes, I had the auxiliary heating of a well-known German manufacturer with its own auxiliary heating – website (name e i don’t consciously have it installed (allegedly the same as the Mercedes has supplied so far). Time set to 6:00 a.m. the following day – in the morning } Engine was warm Car was cold } Called at the car dealership and received the following information When parking the car, turn the heating up to full (28 degrees) and turn the blower automatically on windows and 20 sec. Wait (so that the actuators can set all settings…) } Is it even more cumbersome??? if I forget??? OK – we find ourselves set from time to 6:00 o’clock of the following day + heating on full + blower from Automatically set to windows + 20 sec. wait – on the next morning entered } engine was warm car was almost cold. }> drive to the car dealership and following INFO get lead time to increase to 60min and try again time set to 6:00 o’clock of the following day + heating on full + blower from Automatic set to windows + 20 sec. wait + lead time to 60min – on the next morning } Motor was warm car was almost cold. }> To the car dealership and …….???! !!! I would like to mention here that both the car dealership and the Bosch service involved absolutely took care of the problem – But from the manufacturer with the words “This is state of the art” (poverty certificate) were weighed off. Apparently an employee of the manufacturer said that you are aware of the problem – Then I ask myself why a manufacturer sells for about 2000€ such a garbage – I will no longer buy a product from this manufacturer.
