Hello, We bought our first Mercedes and have no idea… It’s a 230GE BJ 1982 (W460). This G-model was eventually rebuilt. The complete front, headlights and radiator grill are from the W123 program. From AMG. We have never seen this before. Maybe someone knows about it and can tell us something about it? Many DanK! Greetings Vanessa

Brake line HL burst G350 BLUETEC 2012
Hello, my W463.346 has cost me after approx. 7.5 years and approx. 125.000 km already various gray hair (gear, vibrations, strong rust on the front disc frame and much more). Yesterday I was on my way when I suddenly noticed a soft brake pedal and relatively large operating path. At first I didn’t think much about it, because I had to drive only about 500 m away to home anyway. Shortly afterwards also the brake warning light lit up and it became lower Brem At home, I was looking for the right thing to do. At the back left of the tyre, there were some damp splashes on the inside and immediately next to it, it dripped in seconds in front of the rear axle brake fluid. After lifting the HInteraxes, I was able to take a closer look at the disaster. At the top, directly above the rear axle, there is a distributor with various brake lines on brake hoses, which in turn lead to a distributor on the HA. The brake line HL was literally bristled on the ground just before the distributor (see photo). There are also some cables running right there, and it seems to me that one might have scrubbed at the brake line and thus obviously led unnoticed to the corrosion. I separated the part visible in the photo and extended it to the distributor by a self-made piece. I tried to put the suspicious (naturally quite immovable) cable aside. There is very little space there. More was unfortunately not feasible. Who also has such a car, should maybe look in the spot precautionally…

G300 (Puch 300?) – what do I have to pay attention to?
Love Community After a long time I am now focused on a W463 of the first row, specifically a G300 from the early 90s. My questions: – petrol or diesel? Especially in terms of robustness and durability. The two I have to offer would be gasoline. – What do I have to pay attention to next to the rust? – Special rust spots that I should note? Door Panel/Rides, under the rubber on the front window, interior under the carpet and threshold I have on the list So far – Is it a stupid idea to buy or become those 200t+ km that are still running. I’m already budgeting an engine revision, but I hope that I can easily put another 100t km on it. – Automat or hand switched? My personal preference is on automat, as it becomes a weekend vehicle – Come all with air conditioning (to choose from is a standard G and a GSE, but the difference is not quite clear to me)? – How do I get iPhone music on it if n Is there a CD changer in it? With a W460 with cassette you could have solved it with a cassette audio connection. Does anyone have a solution here? – Anything else that I need to consider? Thank you for your help!

G63 Electronic
Question to specialists: Now 2 x the SAM has been replaced it goes on as follows: – From time to time the motor warning light lights up : Errors read out :Temperature measurement or similar. This looks like again even without external deletion. – Sometimes the turn signals are without function despite operation (warning system works) – The outside temperature indicator shows -40 degrees, sometimes less times it starts again after some driving time (until then in the car gets nice warm 🙂 ) – Every now and then the temperature display has disappeared completely from “the display in the cockpit (as if there was nothing to do with it) then only three strokes Has any idea if this is somehow related?

Request for advice from first G-Class G290 DG
Dear Forums (G)meinde, I want to fulfill the dream of a G-Class at the age of 32. Since the youth it is my absolute dream car. At that time still the new models but now I find the older somehow more appealing and authentic. Short to my person: 32 years, hunter with hunting possibility, no two left hands ?? separate vehicle, which I share with my wife for holidays and longer distances, available. Little experience with the vehicle class as well as the respective Models and engines. Achievement of the G: approx. 5,000km per year, diesel, light hunting, privately small distances, sometimes a crossing of the Alps, robust or not to have to screw constantly, if necessary value investment or value stability. As I have already written above, my experience is limited. Therefore, I ask you for your advice and your opinion/help about this G-Class. I have only been looking at the “seemingly special” for months. Is that true? Is it worth the price and what does it say? What about the oldtimer status?https://www.autoscout24.de/…/…5cd7-56ba-42fa-b44e-5ad096b78d1e?… I am very happy about your assessment and help! Best wishes and a nice evening G-newer

Burned out… BiXenon
My G is almost 15 years old and has about 320000km on the clock I drive the vehicle now almost 10 years and have been driving since the 260000km always with switched on lighting and since to a large extent also in the dark is a good lighting a lot worth but lately I had the feeling that the BiXenon burners so slowly lose their luminosity therefore I have replaced the illuminants with new ones now what if you compare the old with the new ones quite sense gemac The change was not a big problem if you once understood the function of the holding ring which connects the burner with the reflector, if one half is open you have to turn the bulb a quarter turn to the left then you can take it well…

W 460 Cabrio
Hello, my son had a frontal collision with a sprinter on Friday. Luckily nothing happened to him – apart from a few bruises. Tomorrow comes the expert of the comprehensive. The exact debt question has to be clarified, so first per all-round. A rough assessment according to the pictures: Is a repair worth it ? The vehicle is completely restored and stainless !! My workshop says that the frame can not be directed, or.. Greetings from Northern Germany.

Mercedes G300TD bj. 1997 reversing headlamp without function
Dear Community, The return light of my recently added G-Class unfortunately does not work. I noticed the whole thing when I noticed that the retrofitted rear camera is without function, or is not displayed on the radio so no signal fed. Of course I read in advance and checked the following things already: – light bulb is i.o. – cables are i.o. – connection with camera pulse generator or power supply is soldered and there comes after inserting the back My guess: The fuse may be defective? I would like to check that but unfortunately I find nowhere a schematic and in which of the whole fuse boxes the fuse is located. Does anyone have schematics? User manuals? Maintenance book? In case the fuse is in order only the switch on the selector lever comes into question? I would be very pleased to learn from your experiences and hope that I can solve the problem soon Greetings

The grievous tire theme…
Dear G-meinde! After having broken a tire yesterday, I have to prefer the tire theme. I drive the original Pirellis Scorpion in 19. Good road tires, in the terrain rather not so dolle. Sure. Now I am looking for a compromise, in order to continue to be comfortable on the road and still have reserves in the terrain (5-10%). I don’t know much about tires, but on my search I have to notice that I am apparently not so well positioned at 19. So I ask I don’t know if I should change to new rims right now… but which size is useful and possible? Sometimes I want to be able to drive at least 180. Of course I think the rugged off-road rims are great but I also want to be able to cruise in the city relaxed without the consumption rising to 25l, because the rolling resistance is gigantic… Oh yes, I drive a G 500 from 2017. I know that there are x posts on this topic but I can’t find anyone who really brings me forward t. So again in short: Which tyres / rim combination would you recommend to me for my requirements? Thank you for your help, Tobias (G993) from Brandenburg

ABS BAS EDC Error
Moin, with my 2002er G55 the three warnings ABS, BAS and EDC are constantly shining. Lt friendly diagnostic reading at MB would be the error source “undervoltage” . Further error source is not specified. i.e. it would be necessary a uU elaborate troubleshooting. The remedy in the logbook (lenkers each to the attacks) brings nothing. Does anyone have any idea how to (i.e. someone with compatible diagnostic device) make best progress in the search? Unfortunately, neither Bosch Dien st or other free workshop help because of lack of compatible diagnostic software. Thank you, Kristian
