Hello dear G-Meinde, I’ve been on the road at MT for a long time and now I’ve turned it into your area, because I bought a W463 – 1995 – G320 (petrols). I have bought a list of defects so to speak and try to turn them off gradually and hope that you can help me with the one or the other problem Current problem:- Water in the footroom (driver and passenger) – When does the problem arise: with longer raining / washing rack. hleuch hardly/ not really reproducible – The classics – disc washers / disc frames I can exclude (probably=, because I could remove tacho as well as passenger valves so far to see that everything there is so far dry – My guess passenger side – door seals / The spray foil behind the door panel – Please also see pictures – My guess driver side – ….no idea – you can see that the water drips on the hood unlocking switch and there 2 cables Could this also come from the door/side? – See also pictures – Do you have experiences/ideas that could help me in the confinement? I will of course also share my experiences in the context of maintenance here. – Can you call me by chance in the area Rhein-Necar (Darmstadt – Mannheim – Heidelberg – Karlsruhe) a savvy G-Schrauber workshop that can be trusted?

The Unreasonable Wins
Hello dear G-meinde I’m looking for a G-Class in the range between 40-50K. What can you expect for that at all or what should I pay particular attention to? I’ve often read the topic of rust. Where does it start, where is it particularly well hidden but points to big problems? Engine? Minimum equipment etc? I don’t understand e.g. the sellers who sell a g 55 amg and put on the back g63. Does this have anything to do with the optics? Are these automatically re imports? Ni I don’t know what you’re thinking now, but seriously. The 55 is already a piece of entertainment. So I think he has to be fun too. But he doesn’t do that if he’s completely broken and I let myself be pulled over the table. Somehow I’m totally unsure about these things and would very much like to know what I’m getting into before I buy it. Maybe you can recommend something to me or bring me closer why, for example, Bauj. A than B or eh he invests more because of XYZ in order not to enter into negotiations as an idiot. Currently, no vehicle purchase is necessary, so this refers only to the desire and what I should be looking for. I would be very grateful for your tips and help.

Change shock absorbers
Good morning dear G-Meinde I want to change my shock absorbers tomorrow, as a damper begins to sweat. Someone knows the tightening moments(torques) of the shock absorbers screws/nuts (G500 2015-18) Thank you in advance.

G500 2005: Automatically switch day running light to stand light?
My 2005 G500 does not have any daytime running light (TFL). I have installed a retrofit solution that puts TFL on the current circuit of the stationary light. Works well. Problem: I always have to turn it on manually (i.e. light selector switch on position “Standlicht”, which undermines the safety idea of the TFL bitsl. I would like to convert it so that it is “always on” when switching on the ignition. How do I do this best? In the switch? In the wiring directly on the TFL (detonation gestures) I am grateful for any idea/proposal.

Spengler’s work
Good morning, the car has a nice clean bump at the back right in the middle. This is to be repaired. The insurance expert says that there is enough Smart Repair and a new paintwork. The bump is directly below the edge, where two sheets are tangled/glued/bonded together. I am worried that if the two sheets are pulled strongly with Smart Repair, the two sheets will also dissolve from each other, even if little, so that they are no longer glued cleanly and are all the more susceptible to What’s your opinion? I didn’t have to insist that Smart Repair can do damage to a G at this point? Here are two pictures. Thank you.

Mercedes doesn’t want to sell me a chrome key (G500, 2005, JP)
After the old key of my 2005er 500er was no longer particularly respectable, I wanted to order a new one at MB. Since 200x these are delivered in the quite chicer chrome case. Said done, Rohling arrived today. But now it was not the one with the chic chrome edge, but so a MB Vito/A-Class savings issue with black plastic edge (see photo). Incl. programming etc. the thing lies at several hundred Euros. Since I express m I didn’t accept it for the time being. Further research at the dealer showed, however, that for my Japan import 2005 G500 there seems to be no chrome version, but only the hard plastic vito variant (for the price and for a G500? Can that be?). I realize that my Japan key (probably) radios on a different frequency than the German keys. But why should the thing deswg. be executed in plastic? If there is actually no chrome variant gi bt, I can then take the plastic key and put it in a chrome case myself (is it on Ebay for cheap, cheap). Wouldn’t it be an alternative… even though I don’t have a chance at all at the purchase price. In this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLjskrAqEtM builds apart a nn chrome key. There are the side parts inserted. But with my black it looks as if they were poured with the case. Thus the conversion would be also n Is it possible…?

Photos of Oliv Metallic G Classes
Since G drivers not only greet each other but also help, I now need your help with the paint. As one or the other in the forum knows, my G500 should hopefully come in the middle of next year. I have fallen in love with the color G Manufactory Oliv Metallic and have therefore changed to this color in the course of the necessary order change of March. A short info on the exterior of the vehicle. It has the AMG Line with the Night Package 1+2 and d I have not yet seen a G in this color in the wild. It would be nice, because I find on the internet mostly only very strongly staged pictures of the color, you give me your impressions or maybe also concerns / why you would not choose. Sometimes you just need different opinions. With a photo of my G from the configurator. Thank you

G-arage near Zurich or after the border?
Hello Community Is there a trustworthy G-Garage that would be located in Zurich (nearly ok) or even in Germany? It is about a 90s Puch/300G which would have to have mounted a few parts, which I can then confirm in writing at the MFK (Tüv Äquivälent Switzerland). Thank you very much!

Protective grille for front fog lamps
Hello together! I’m looking for protective grilles for my fog lights. I have retrofitted the ovals that have been installed from 2007 on my 2002’er W463. I can find all kinds of protective grilles, headlights, turn signals, even side indicators, tail lights and fog closing lights, as well as return lights, only for the fog lights can I find nothing. Does anyone have a link for me? Thank you and many G-rüße, Jan
