For my new G500 AMG Line (463A) I have ordered all weather tyres. But now the Moutain and snowflakes symbol is missing. Since DOT after 1.1.2018 I can not drive with these tires in snow. The fine catalog provides for a point and between 75 and 300 Euro penalty in case of offense. The work twitches the shoulders and knows to the dealer as a contractual partner. He says… true all weather there is currently not in the tire size 275/50 R20 xl. You know more and I would your This is a very important issue for the Commission.

Purchase advice/purchase tips for G-Class
Hello together! It may be that I get a G as a second car during the summer. This depends on various factors and is at the moment far from safe – but I would like to inform myself now, so that I can then also strike on a short time on a favorable occasion. Since I want to move financially rather at the lower (st) edge – it should be as said only a “second car toy ” – remain purely practically already only M odelle roughly speaking from 20 years and older left. The age would not be a problem for me, basically also high mileage and “beauty mistakes” not, however, the vehicle should be already good from the “basic substance” already. Despite second car factor I have no desire to tie a completely incalculable (and expensive) permanent construction site to the leg. (I basically had that with my former S211, I do not need that again. ) At this point now you come with E What should you consider if you are looking for a G-Class from the above points of view or if you are visiting a specific used vehicle? I have already looked around Mobile.de and also here in the forum: Oh yes, if it should make a difference with the above points: I would prefer a long version. A short version would be OK and a convertible I do not want to have at all. (With which also all the ex-Bundeswehr-Wölfe ‘ra And one more fundamental question: In the planned construction period, W461 and W463 were partly built in parallel according to Wikipedia. Is – besides possibly (not) available engines – the only difference between W461 and W463 the one that the 463 is aimed at the “civil” market and is “more plusy” inside and comes with more electronic toys? Or are there other, more fundamental differences? Then I am on your opinion. n and comments eager… Ciao, sjs77

G270cdi electrics spins, nobody gets it
Oh, man, I’m really frustrated. I finally got “my” G, drove home from the dealer 300km, complacent, super and great. Then at home, first a little beauty care and a few little things up. Stand 2 days. On the evening of the 2nd day suddenly the headrest passenger side only went up, not down any more. However, it was probably on the switch, because when a memo button of the seat setting was pressed, she drove down again. Only manually it was not possible. The first morning, the very first exit. On boarding I heard a rat in the passenger footroom. I knew the sound, there hangs a relay. Started, driven, but only in the already mode, faster than 50 would not work. Suddenly, suddenly after 5min, everything normal and he drove unreservedly. After another 10min stopped, a small errand was made, again when entering the relay noise. I got nervous. Go. Everything normal, a luck. But after c. 5min drive the engine goes off See ESP, ABS, etc. Errors are reported in the on-board computer. Engine no longer starts, the starter doesn’t even start turning. Rolling out at the side stripe. Workshop passes, start aid, everything does nothing. ADAC comes and drags me to the Bosch service on the advice of the workshop. He has been whirling around for 10! days and finds nothing. They even towed the car to Daimler. No result. He doesn’t start, always brings error messages. Front Sam has been replaced, then limps. Res SAM, and what is it? Nothing. I despair. Has anyone ever heard such a thing? Is there an electric G-pop? Guys, that sucks all the joy of me, I’m close to showing the edging the grudge shoulder.

2. Exit North Germany (northern Lower Saxony, HB, HH and SH)
Moin together, as at the 1st exit I would like to make a proposal for the 2nd exit 2015 on 01.03.2015 from 10:00 o’clock: This is not an event initiated by me but one of the MSC Lägerdorf, which is however open for all vehicles. I am there also “only” part-takers. We met in the gravel pit Holling, Forstweg 6, 25560 Puls. It is a larger terrain, on which can also be driven free. Furthermore, trial-sect I’d like to go from section to section and explain everything exactly, if you want to. The event is for beginners as well as for professionals (so it’s not rally but skill common). It can come who wants to. If you want to support me, it would be nice if you would contact me first. Best regards: Lars!

Does the consumption indicator in the G serve only to calm your conscience?
Hello. That there is no indication of instant consumption in the G is understandable given the fuel consumption. Anyone who buys a G knows that this is not a consumption-optimized vehicle. But is it normal that the average consumption indicator is completely wrong? What do you have here for experience? With my other vehicles there is a tolerance of up to 0.7 liters. With the G 350 BT (model 2015, recently purchased) I now had an average consumption of 11.4 liters after 602 KM / 100 KM on the display. I have now refuelled 77.77 liters. This results in an average consumption of 12.92 liters / 100 KM (of course the refueling method is also inaccurate, the tank quantity depends, among other things, on the outside temperature and on the previous even refuelling; but certainly more accurate than the display). Clearly 12.92 liters is fully in the bearable range, especially with a diesel engine not yet in use, many short distances, preheating (about 20 minutes) and a G Untested drivers. But you can’t rely on the display. This is 1.5 liters next to it. That’s a considerable deviation. Does the display only show desired values and serve to calm your conscience? Will this be better during G life or should you simply hide the display in the future? Or does the heater consume a huge amount of fuel (it could actually only make up half a liter for the total quantity of fuel used and it would be cleaned up around the heating system. still use 12.8 liters). Greetings Tom

Steering wheel possible with G 270cdi retrofitting?
Even if it comes across strangely: I don’t like these multifunction steering wheels. No matter what shape, but keys have lost nothing (yes, yes, I know I have this opinion almost exclusively). Is it possible to mount a steering wheel without buttons but with airbag (it should fit from the mounting steering column) and to get a solution for the operation of the on-board computer? I would think of keypads on the back that could be placed there. Or quite without action, only if the i Need to connect a keypad, too. And of course the ABE should be preserved or entered. Doofe idea? Good slide! Carsten

Ventilation grid with arrow print !?
Hello together My G63 has some kind of arrow-shaped prints on the ventilation grids (on the dashboard), looks really SCH…/cheap, see photos. A spare part has been ordered from my garage, but looks the same. Do you have that with your G too? Is this really standard…? Does someone know remedy for this problem? If not available please specify model and vintage Thank you in advance Donnergott

“Protection” of the rear of the front seats from child’s feet….
Funny topic, but annoying. Especially small children have to push their shoes against the front seats (is not an S-Class) – and in winter it’s called mud and salt on the leather. Has anyone found a good solution for this? Sometimes you see in taxis such plastic protection cover? LG, Max

Pre-gloss
Dear G-Friends, at my G, 270er cdi, EZ 10/04, I am watching: I start the machine. Everything is “normal”. Then, shortly after start or later, the pre-glow spiral lights up again in the instrument cluster and disappears again after a few kilometers. What’s up? A defective glow candle or defective relay? Thank you.
