I opened a thread once, because otherwise I lose the overview myself: So, again from the front: My G270 cdi EZ 2004, squirts with fast acceleration. But only there, sometimes so much that it leaves a black wall standing. Meanwhile almost everything on parts was renewed, air filters, pressure converters, LMM, gas evaluators, all possible sensors, even the Turbo. AGR valve was also cleaned and checked (and is again properly closed after 1.5 years). It was imm it was a little better, but not as it should be (in my opinion at least). Then it could only be the suction tube, most likely the flaps worn, the storage knocked out, seals finished, etc. What did I do today? Exactly, gave me to it and dismantled everything. Poor frickelei, nothing for me, but I got it without a blast. Only: the suction tube looks good: no oil outlet, the flaps all healed, its storage is also good . And that with a mileage of 360,000 km. Sounds unbelievable, but is really like that. What else can it be? I desperately slow. Yesterday I was on the road in Hagen and there is an older gentleman next to me and insults me for the agony (I must have stepped on it properly before at the traffic light). Even if the gentleman overruled, I feel bad! Please, who else has ideas? Many greetings Carsten

Diesel exits at the injector…
…and that’s what I noticed with my 270cdi on the plastic on the front wall opposite the cylinder head damp spots. At first I didn’t think anything about it. Today wiped away with brake cleaner and driven, so 100km. Just look again and the moisture spots are back. Then curiously I removed the engine plastic cover and it is actually diesel. And indeed the diesel stands at the last injector and with the running engine it bubbles (small bubbles). , see picture)). Just pull injectors at the workshop and have them resealed? I can’t hear a hissing. Is that why my favorite problem of the agony could stir up, because that’s become stronger again for a few days (synchronously after I installed an original LMM, I suspected it until now, that’s why I even looked at it today)? Greetings Carsten

Exhaust gas recirculator engine emergency run G 400 CDI
Hello, again and again I hear that the exhaust gas recirculators are defective with the G 400 CDI. Also with me, the engine was only more to drive in emergency run. I now can repair the parts without removal, a work of about an hour (because now I know how to do it) and saved me the cost of the new part (700 EUR) and the whole work of the exchange! The controllers have a plastic cap behind the back, which is sitting over the mechanics. They can be clipped down, then you can use the mechanics with Aluspray again (there are a lot of soot particles in there, because not everything is as dense as it should be). A few times with the hand moved, and already the part has been fine again. Let’s see how long this is going to work.

Hello, after long waiting, my son is now ready for his own G. We bought a 463 in Spain, in the papers he was admitted in 7/1990 in D and after about 6 years he came to SP and to this day he has Spanish papers. Now my questions .: what to do to get the H Kenzeichen when the G is back in D.? German papers we do not have only a hint that he was admitted in the area of Cologne. If it helps I can send the FHG Nr. Thank you for every info. Wolfgang & Aaron

Hello together! My name is LH-748 alias Jens and hope you have had a great Father’s Day I am very interested in the noise level in the interior of G-Classen. Could you possibly measure the decibel level during your rides? If possible also at different speeds. Please also with the info which model or possible changes carried out (e.g. sports exhaust or sports air filter). Thank you for which noise level is actually at the G350d (245hp). from 2015) in the vehicle registration? Many greetings LH-748

At speed 80 a bang and the wolf stands. Differential down?
Hello G fans, I had an experience of the rough kind on the weekend. At Tempo 70-80kmh there was a bang and the front axle blocked. After about 20 mtr. brake track, I was lucky, the wolf then came to stand on the opposite track. Thought the engine is gone. (km 48000) But he jumped on, but the car crawled with the front axle into the asphalt. So he had to wait 1,5 hours at night until the tow truck came. Has anyone ever heard of such a case? I renewed oil 2 months ago. W and get to the bottom of it.

Purchase advice 300GD
Hello, for 100 years I have felt I wish for a G, I’m sure it will take a long, long time before the right G-Class is in front of me, yet I have my idea which one to be. A 300GD in long with the engine 603, further on is important to me automatic and air conditioning. I think that would be the W463 or? According to the obvious defects like rust on the disc frame, rear lights and side walls, as well as defective diff. Locks I would like to know where to pay attention to n. I’ve already looked at some, but never dared to buy, I think it’s about time, because the market offers less and less. Would be happy about some purchase tips as well as information about frequently occurring problems with this vehicle! Thanks and greetings Martin

G400 does what he wants – sometimes on, sometimes not
Hello together, maybe someone can help me with this extraordinary case or has an idea. After our C400 stood unmoved for about 10 days, a very high “peifton” or ev. a “virbrating” relay (my guess) was to be heard from the engine compartment. However, it could not be precisely located. The G only left with the key, everything else was dead. The sound went away only after the battery was disconnected. After the charger was attached was about s juice there, but it glowed, shortly after the attempt of the starter, which did not work only “crack”, the red indicator LOW/HIGH (see picture). After the back and forth of the high/low switch the red indicator disappeared briefly, but came back immediately after the next start attempt. After that we checked the whole electrical system, but found no error or short circuit. Charger remained the night over it. The next morning he jumped immediately after disconnecting and only the errors “BAS” and “ESP” The voltage was 12.34 V. Started again during the day, everything worked out. Started again in the afternoon and the same error again (as described above). Returned to the cargo. In the evening then jumped normal again and drove. Jumped overnight at the cargo and in the morning again. During the day weiter at the cargo, jumped in the evening. Then the night without cargo, jumped in the morning (11.89V). During the day further without cargo, in the afternoon again the so-called error and error. No starting. The voltage was 11.34V at the last start attempt. At the first error reading there were following errors (see picture), whereby all could be reset to P0802. P0802 means a problem with the distribution gearbox. Can someone please help me. Greeting Martin

W460 or Lada Niva long
Good morning, I have a lot of new-fashioned vehicles, a VW Multivan, a Mercedes Viano and a Subaru Forrester, standing around, which I want to sell. I am looking for a robust car with as little technology as possible. Due to the low price, the Lada Niva long is considered as a new car. The test drive was OK. The disadvantage is that I have to convert it to LPG and retrofit it directly, to suitable corrosion protection, cruise control and better noise insulation. For the pushers I have my inner middle finger. Worse is that the quality overall is rather poor. For this the repairs are simple and the costs are low. Alternatively I am interested in the W460 as diesel, oldtimer and long version. That it is larmarschig, does not itch me here either. Used it costs about the same as the Lada Niva long new. But I am also interested in consumption, repairability, reliability, costs and costs for the afterlife. I would be happy about a factual discussion. Dogmatism, fanaticism, pp. don’t interest me. I would also be interested in a Japanese, but I have the impression that they have ridden down harder, consume even more, and repairs may be significantly higher. With best regards Reinhard Wilhelm
