Hello together A good friend of mine will soon separate himself from his 230 GE (1988/W460) completely original with guaranteed 79’000 kilometers. It is the short version with blocking diff back, etc. etc… There are bills about investments about Sfr. 21’000.–. The car has no rust. The car was presented fresh last year, in the meantime only about 2’500 km were driven. In addition, the 80’000 service was carried out. The car was never in the Gelän What would you pay for such a vehicle – which versions are long or long version?? Is it worth buying such a vehicle in terms of value increase? Thank you for your answers and greetings Beni

Check coolant level – Repeating error message
Hello, every few weeks or about 1500km the above message in the driver’s display comes. I could then pour a little bit (estimate such a coke can), then the message disappears again. But I don’t discover a leak in the cooling system anywhere. I don’t have any oil increase and he doesn’t smoke white at the start. Does that happen more often, or is the 270er known for it? Should I just ignore or what is to be done? Groetjes Carsten

How do W463A detect front disc heating?
Dear G-meinde, I have ordered the front window heating but do not see any foil in counterlight/sun and am now unsure if it was installed at all, delivery was in the summer. Can one possibly recognize by the numbers of the windscreen if this was installed?

Soot clouds with abrupt acceleration
Hello to the G-Community, my 270 CDI (Diesel;Bj 2004;Runnleistng ca 220,000 km) has for some time been throwing an immense (soot ?) cloud out of the exhaust, so that subsequent road users are severely disabled. Have already had all injection nozzles checked at Bosch; result: everything ok. It is striking, however, that in the area of common rail supply lines a strong coking-up has arisen, which can hardly be eliminated. Is this phenomenon known and wa Is there any way of remedying this situation? Would you be very grateful for an answer?

Mercedes G400CDI Gear damage
We are owners of a G400CDI (long version)V8, built in 2005. The vehicle has 116T km on the speedometer, of which we have driven 60T km in the last 4 years. After a turbocharger damage in December in the amount of almost 3000,-€ we had to have it to towed again last week. This time: transmission damage, estimated component costs alone approx. 6000,- €. We were advised by the Mercedes-Werkstatt to put further money into it, because this model is indeed for its susceptibility in the Getrie Since the car has provided us with good service so far and my heart is attached to it (V8 is V8), we are now faced with the decision to have the car repaired for expensive money and to risk another damage in the foreseeable future, or to exchange it for the newer variant G270. What would you advise us to do? Car is otherwise top there (Limited Edition with an edition of 250 pieces), but we can’t get rid of it. reprogramming damage anyway? Or should we get a different opinion – if, of whom or is there a cheaper repair variant with one of the usual off-road vehicle technicians? Or rather let the fingers of it, as everyone says? Are grateful for every tip!

Workshop Manual G 463/G460
Hello G-Friends, Who can give me a good tip for the procurement of workshop manuals. In the foreground the manual for the G 463 with OM 612. As an old 460s screwdriver I mean of course the correct “comprehensive manual, in the ring book as it has the workshop and no overviews or introductory books. CD also works. For the W 126 I have such a thing, goes really well. After 35 years G460 and G461 I have additionally done my first G 463 , a 270 CDI year 2004 with green badge,. On the Internet I have not been able to find the right manual so far. But maybe a 463 professional as I can get it. ( by phone : 0176 978 34053 ) Greeting Gtogo

300 GE Bj 90: Heating constantly heats
Hello, a friend of mine owns a 300GE year 1990 with which the heating is constantly heating. I don’t know about the old Gs. However, if this were the case with my W126, I would guess that the power supply to the duo valve is disturbed and this works in emergency run. Only I don’t know if the G has such a thing at all or the heating works quite differently. The G about which it is about also has an air conditioning system (which is also empty), but first she wants to solve the heating problem. A workshop that has been set on it has probably already painted the sails and abandoned.

Which car color for my G
Dear Motor-Talk municipality, I have not been in the forum for a long time now. Now as proud owner of a G 300GE from 1990 I can introduce myself right here. I am very pleased to have the car now. For me this was not cheap. The car is light grey and in many places has formed on the paint top floor rust. I would therefore like to paint the car completely. In the appendix a photo of the car is listed. As paint is planned a dark gray. The front bully bumper I would dismantle and sell. I have added a photo of the desired color to you. Maybe you can help me and tell me which RAL color this is. I would like to take it separately and paint the car abroad afterwards. Also I would like to know how much color I need? I have at the bottom everywhere flight rust(not much). I would like to have this completely sanded away also abroad and then treat it with Fertan. After the Fertan I would like to place a corrosion protection on it, which does not fall with the wash road -> Do you have any recommendations for me?

But what I found is the position heater = No. D ? Heater ? Who can help me here to find out if the new pump works? By the way, I did not find an error message on my star diagnosis (short test) regarding the pump? Gruss Michigan

Acquired in the Approach of Spiritual Enlightenment
Hello G class friends, I would like to sneak in carefully here, as I certainly want to get one or the other tip from experienced screwdrivers. I am IT Freak shortly before retirement age, I started a mechanical engineering study in the early days and have been screwing our cars for over 40 years. My last project was a Mitsubishi L200, he came from a quarry and looked like that. I was able to exchange him last week, after successful restoration for a 280GE, formerly border guard (also in the quarry business). I will provide some photos of the misery in the next few days and am now happier? G class owner. Best greetings from Aachen
