  • Vibration G350 BT, does anyone know the problem?

Dear G-Friends, I need your help! I drive a G350 BT, built 10/2013 and 11/2013. So it is the Mopf model (spring 2012), which was revised again for the new model year 2014 due to some problems during the factory holidays in the summer of 2013 (e.g. larger oil tank and reduced maintenance intervals to 15 Tkm). Already after about three months the G showed vibrations and hums in certain speed ranges. This occurs especially with low partial load and in the Sc The steering wheel and pedals then vibrate, the whole car as well, as well as a hum from time to time, on the driver’s seat it is much better to feel than on the passenger seat. In the meantime, the G was three times at the dealer for revision, incl. twice support of a factory employee. It was here Changed to the distribution gearbox, the drivetrain relaxed, as well as the bearings of engine, transmission and exhaust line renewed. Result: only slightly improved, but quickly restored old condition with the above mentioned vibrations. In the meantime I got it back, unfortunately without solving the problem. I can’t understand the hint from MB that this is normal for a real off-road car with ladder frame and distributor drive. Is not my first ‘real’ G After a joint test drive and the statement that the problem is easy to feel and reproducible, the service employee from the factory probably caught another demonstrator for comparison, who should show similar symptoms. Therefore, this would be the current standard of production. I will not let that stand (the legal position on my part regarding change etc. I know udn will act accordingly, if there is no solution), me But first of all it is about the question to you whether one of you had similar problems and whether and above all how and by which work these could be solved, so that I am better equipped in the following negotiations with MB. Basically I do not want to give the G at all, because I like to drive it very much, but without a solution to the problem I will have to bring about a solution. In advance many thanks for your help, greeting to the congregation of Markus

  • Clacking from the ventilation and changing air flow rate

It already started last week that the reaction of the air flow to the turning a adjusting button failed to behave, respectively, remained, i.e. ventilation turned up full pull and there was a lukewarm air. No matter whether the climate was on or off. Today then similar, or there was a delayed reaction to the turning on the wheel and from time to time such a unique clapping from the front, but also from the back. The “once-cracking” I repeated so every 10-30 seconds a few times over about 2-3 minutes. Then it stopped, I then closed my iCarsoft to the OBD and at the menu item climate/ventilation there was an error: “Component M2 / 16 /Actuator for left and right defrosting flap) is stiff or blocked.” Ok, now I know well what has cracked. But: does this stop by itself or is this the beginning of the end and I soon need a new ventilation box for my 270cdi? And when I was there, there was also a menu punk. t “ESM – Electronic Selector Mode”. I found an error message below: “Short circuit of the backlight component after Plus.” What can that be? • G350BT probably tore control chain at 150,000km

Good evening, I have the following problem. Last weekend at my G350BT at about 80km/h on the motorway the engine suddenly went out without notice, so no lighting up engine control light or noises. After a long break from the non-existent service of the ADAC he was towed into the workshop today. First guess is that the control chain is torn. Who had to experience something like this? How do I go on? Can I go here on Kulanz from Merce hope, because, for example, a loose control chain at the last service (in November before 5,000km at approx.145,000km) would have had to be recognized? What would you do? What is the worst case of the engine is over and only an exchange engine could breathe new life into the G? Repulse? If so, what can you get for a G350BT, EZ 05/11 with a defective engine? I’m curious about the answers.

  • TV free while driving

Hello together My G ran off the band on 10.2015. As far as I know the Comand NTG 4.5 should be installed online. Does anyone have experience regarding TV/DVD unlocking during the ride in the G? Which is the best system? Thank you in advance MfG Thor

  • Real (!) acceleration G500 M113, 5G

Before 1: I think that every G500 is “sufficiently” motorized. It’s not about “stammtischklopperei”, but about academic/technical interest in the topic. Before 2: Like many here, I am a fan of the M113 (in all stages). I know, from my own experience, both the compressor variant (at that time in the SL55 R230), as well as the standard version (also in the SL with 306 hp and in the G with 296 hp). By comparison, I also know one of the predecessors (M119) from a R129 SL 5 00 and also the related M112 from R230 SL 350. Of course, it is clear to me that identical engines in the SL and in the G develop their characteristics completely differently, but in the evaluation of MB engines of this generation(s) my Popo meter is quite trained. Before 3: In the family we have a G500 M113 from 2005 with the 5G automatic. I drive the car myself occasionally and always found that the engine is a top match for the car.Now on the topic: Here in the forum have I read a few weeks ago (doesn’t find the thread anymore) that the G500 with M113 was offered its construction time at the end with a 7G, which would have improved the acceleration value for the regular table print (0-100 km/h) from 10 to 7.x seconds (doesn’t remember the exact value anymore). And in fact the factory specification for the 5G seems to be 9.9 and 10.2 seconds respectively. That surprised me, because the 500 5G feels faster for me: My Popo meter ranks the car about 2 Now I had read in another place rather by chance that the current G500 in the W463A would have a factory specification of 5.9 sec. of 0-100 km/h, but in practice it would take more than 6.x seconds (example). And in fact I had subjectively also taxied the W463A similarly. Another “family car” accelerates in 5.x seconds to 100 km/h and the W463A always came to me “a tick” slower Well… Taking note of all this, I wanted to go back to the topic in the M113-G500. First source was Wikipedia (where else), where the car is given at a flat rate of 7.7 sec. for the sprint (source). In fact, this is more in line with my assessment. But I thought Wikipedia was using the relatively rare 7G as the basis (although there is nothing there). Again Googled and found this page, which documented a 2005 5G G500 on 8.2 sec. (EDIT: MT doesn’t seem to like the link. It’s about the page “automobile-catalog.com”. Still at a loss, I thought: “Help nothing. You have to measure yourself.”. Said, done and landed at every measurement “around the” 8 seconds. Also on YouTube there are videos of G500 M113 5G accelerations, which confirm my suspicion. For example here from a 1998 (!) and here from a 2005er. All of them clearly closer to the 8 second mark, because to the specified almost 10 seconds. h in the 24 years (the video is about a year old) rather have lost power??? I don’t understand why MB missed the M113 5G G500 so “bad” factory specifications, if in practice at that time it should have been more at just under 8 seconds, than at 10. Two seconds are a pretty big difference after all. Or is the fuel so much better, or “more suitable”, for the engine? I can hardly imagine the latter… but there must be some reason. t… (see previous remarks), it’s not a matter of regular table clapping. Anyone who drives a G500 to drive quickly is anyway sitting in the wrong car. I’m more interested in the background of the discrepancy between the specification of the factory and the practice.

  • R18Winter tyres 18′

Moin, after my standard tyres the profile slowly gets worse I would like to get a set of new tyres. Currently I have M+S tyres on it, G500 BJ 2015, special model “Edition 35” size 265/60 R18 110H my Mercedes dealer proposes me Conti 4×4 winter contact of the same size. is planned for the next years also a winter Sweden tour, for the summer I would prefer to get tyres with more profile e.g. AT on an extra set of rims. My questions: 1) Has e iner already experience with the tire? 2) the dealer says that I would be bound to the size, since it is explicitly entered in my papers, other sizes (e.g. 16′ would not be possible due to exhaust gas values..? 3) he sells only tires with the snowflake+mountain symbol… to all year round tires he proposes Pirelli… in the search function some swear on winter tires, others are satisfied with MS tires…

  • My G, on the way to H approval

Beautiful good day to the community, I have been a silent observer in the community for some time and since the beginning of this week proud owner of a 250 GD. Here are some pictures of my new baby. The goal for the next few months is to eliminate the so far manageable defects one after the other and then to give him a nice H at the end of the label. Therefore, be sure to have the one or other question to the community over the next few months & happy 1st question is probably the most unpleasant question: The G is first in my underground garage, until it is then taken apart in a man’s sky. As soon as it is finished, it comes back into my underground garage. I measured the driveway of the underground garage before, of course, to check if the G fits in at all. However, the G has a retrofitted roof rack, which was of course not planned by me, so I am missing current l almost 2-3 cm to get into my underground car park. Currently I have grobstollen tires on the G. –> 225/75 R16 I would like to switch to normal road tires anyway, so the question arises if I could win with another road tire in about 5cm. I am grateful for any help 🙂 Thanks already to everyone.

  • G350 BT motor control light (yellow) repeatedly on!

Hello everybody! My G350BT will be 3 years old next month, I recently had the current 60,000 KD made. Last week the yellow engine control light went on, but I noticed no restrictions when driving. According to the manual it could be something with the “speed sensor”. I called the workshop and then left the car right there. In the evening came the call “sensors have to be changed, the coming tomorrow”. Obviously also in the workshop in the operating handbuc h looked, yellow people = speed sensors exchange. The next day I got the G back. Two days he drove without a yellow indicator light, today, on the trip to work after about 3 km, again the yellow indicator light. Again no restriction at the performance. MB called, “they bring the vehicle by”. As I know MB, from painful experience between 2000 and 2003 with my convertible, now the game “we just exchange everything that can be exchanged” probably goes off again. O I am too pessimistic? It stinks to me that from tonight I can drive A class again or some kind of crap that I would never voluntarily put myself in. I have already announced that no matter what they offer me as a replacement car, cement bags are transported either on my trailer or in the back seat on the weekend. Maybe tonight there is a transporter on the yard. Does someone have a goal-oriented idea why the yellow control light so without it is eim Driving noticed (Tempomat works, Tacho works, rev counter works), is it? Greetings OpenAirFan

  • G 500 Edition 35

Dear G-drivers, we have received new additions, a 500 edition 35. I would very much like to put on the 18 winter tyres and mount 20s from the AMG in the summer. Since I find black rims on the car very suitable, I picked them out here: https://www.kunzmann.de/…/…hen-design-g63-g65-amg-schwarz-matt.htm Has jmd. randomly, 1. pictures with the mentioned rims on a non-AMG and 2. experience with the registration of the 20s? the latter should according to various Online Quel I have a few photos before the pick-up. Greetings
