Hello to the community, I have a W463, GD 300. The car has 348tkm and on the front right he lost the transmission oil, which came through the leaky shaft seal into the ball. I also have the typical clacking at full impact. I have now dismantled this and stand now full of reverence for some components which you have to replace. Certainly all seals and of course also the joint itself, the cuff was only in some parts in the ball. That was certainly for a long time. I’m sure I don’t have the best conditions and what you need and what you don’t need, I don’t know exactly anyway. However, the parts don’t look like gifts, I just want to buy those that are useful. I wouldn’t fix the joint on the passenger’s side at first, that’s neither leaking nor making noises. I’m grateful for any tips. Thank you!

G63 AMG?
Hello community. Signed up here to get some advice. I’m 32 years old now and I’ve been driving a Porsche Cayenne Turbo S thanks to dual studies and very good price. Since I’m most likely promoted to a leading position at Daimler in a short time, I’m thinking about making my dream come true. My dream? The G55 AMG or new G63 AMG ! Sure, the price with far over 130,000.00€ is probably first scary, all rdings is my dream. Now my question. Is any of you driving a G55 or a G63? Can someone compare both cars constructively, objectively and out of his own experience? I drove the G55 only once and fell in love directly, but it’s not enough to really compare both. Kind greetings, Tim

Purchase advice for new G (G500)
Hello Together after I was almost sure that it would be a G500, after a few hours of forum reading I still have some doubts or questions and I am happy about feedback: 1. The numerous rust problems of which can be read most irritated. It seems that you can hardly do anything (except maintain, grow and if necessary fix on guarantee). Either way however annoying, because for me it is always necessary to do without my car and constantly to go to MB Is the G and MB particularly bad and how does a Range Rover compare? (Even if I actually want a G, the RR would still be the best alternative – otherwise I don’t think of anything). Think about leasing and not buying – then I can return it in case of an emergency? 2. One reads again and again quite clear criticism of the MOPF 2012, especially the non-switchable ABS I find also worrying. How is your experience there? I want the G already to be I would actually prefer a new one, but if necessary you could also look for a leasing back runner from 2011? 3. Some equipment questions: a) Is the sliding roof worth it? Does it cause problems? b) Do you see heating windshield? Do you see wires (like the Discovery)? 4. Is there a reasonable AT-maturation in 265/60 R18 – which also works halfway on the road in case of rain? Thank you. Max

Kaufberatung G 300 short with H approval
Hello G-meinde, I’m looking for a reliable off-road vehicle with H-approval (due to favorable maintenance). Now I’ve looked at a short 300 G, year 79 on the internet. Who can basically tell me something about the car. Is the power sufficient to pull a trailer with 1500 – 2000 kg in the terrain (e.g. when making wood) and that I can also “stop” in normal traffic? That I can’t drive a traffic light race with this one is clear to me, only I want to know if With this motorization I do not prevent the “traffic flow”. How is the reliability of this already 30 year old car? Rist susceptibility? How are the brakes also regarding trailer load? Spare parts supply? Repair costs Thank you for your help. LG. stillwithoutG

LED additional headlights on the W463
Hello, because the xenon light on the G is not really good, I would like to retrofit a few additional lights in LED technology, for example Hella Luminator X LED. So far so good. However, there are questions that I cannot answer without a doubt in the net. – Up to what reference number can I install additional lights? The standard number has a reference number of 20. If I understand the guideline correctly, I now have to add 2 x 20. 100 is the maximum reference number for a car after 2009 => i.e. 60 are still free, i.e. max. 2 x 30? But there are no LED additional headlights below 37,5 per lamp … very confusing – How and where did you attach your additional headlights? I would like to drill very reluctantly into the bumper. I think of a fastening behind the black “mark plate”. Or there are fixed points at work. For advice and suggestions I am very grateful. With best greeting TMD

Type number of the Comand in G350BT Bj. 2014
Good evening together, I am communicating with the Dutch company that runs the Qdis interface for the Comand system. Also, the Qdis interface, as reported by Lars in the other thread, can cause the smartphone screen to be mirrored on the monitor of the Comand system. It is perhaps cheaper than the two interface boxes of XCarlink. They now ask me about the option code of the Comand, which is installed in the G Bj 2014. They do not have the G (like so many others) in their n lists. I passed on XCarlink’s info that it is the NTG5 that is installed in the current C-Class. However, there must still be a code, possibly Comand 529 or Comand 531, which they want to know about me. I found nothing in the operating documents. Does anyone know what the exact type designation of the Comand is in the 2014 G? Servus, Jonny

Questions about Command Navigation
Good evening together, as already announced in the thread “G 350 BT really so bad?”, I bought a 4 month old presenter, just that G 350 BT. After a week of use I gradually get closer to the operation of the many extras, although there is still a lot to learn and try out. I recently had a hard drive navi in the Porsche 997S, but I did not use it for the Iphone after purchasing the Navigon app. The Command Navi seems to be similarly moderate, wi e that of Porsche. But maybe I’m just standing on the hose and you can help me: I want to stand constantly on the navigation screen: – the GPS speed – how far it is to the next junction – how far it is to the goal – the time of arrival that is always adjusted to the speed – the permissible maximum speed All points, which are natural with the smartphone apps. In the command I only have a window to display under route for arrival time u nd rest-km found, which almost completely covers the screen. Can it be true that you can’t display the above information permanently? From the beginning of the year there is probably a command with the traffic live system of TomTom for some DB vehicles. I only found that this is not available in the G-Class (why?). Does anyone know if it can be retrofitted at least? I found a qualitatively very bad you-tube video “link car smartphone mirroring” in which the Iphone screen mirrored on the command, but it doesn’t show how to get it. Does anyone know that? Thanks and Servus, Jonny

G350 BT or G500??
Moin together! It has been dealt with from time to time, but not really in detail, so I dare to ask the Gretchen question again: G350 Bluetec or G500?? I drive in the year 30,000km plus X, the fuel costs are quite important to me, but not so important to me that they would basically exclude the 500er. I would like to keep the new G in the long run, let’s say the next 10 years. So also the topics durability and repair vulnerability are for me Very important. Rightful smooth running, durability and permeability of the 500s? Please also give me an info if you have own experience values regarding consumption and repairs at the 350s and/or 500s. One will definitely, the question is: Which one? Therefore my question to you: Which would you choose and why?

G 350 / G 300 turbodiesel
Hello together, I’ve been interested in a used G with diesel, optionally G 350 turbodiesel or G 300 turbodiesel for a long time! But if you look through the ads on the internet, it’s noticeable that almost every G350 already has an exchange engine, partly after not even 100 tkm… That can’t really be true, can it?!? Can someone report his personal experiences here? Am really thinking about whether it doesn’t have to be a G 320, but I wanted a G 320. Not really, wg. fuel consumption, torque, etc… Can anyone report a personal comparison here as well? When the G 350 was up to date, there were tuning offers with charging air cooler, which had 3.5 liters then about 160 hp. Has anyone gained experience with this? Does this tuning reduce the machine’s life even more? Is this tuning still offered today? Questions about questions…

G 350 BT really so bad?
Dear community, after 3 attempts I would like to make it this time. So far the decision for Defender and Discoyery (now 80000km without defects!) was made. The G is to be leased for 4 years, then to take it privately and keep it. In the search for experience reports I had to find out now that – in contrast to Landrover – there are relatively few forum contributions to it. Most I found here. After reading the posts I am now quite disillusioned. Trot z of the high purchase price obviously does not get the “acquisition for life”. Reports about frequent extra-planned workshop stays, fixed KD intervals of 15000km, high customer service costs, rust formation, consumption even without terrain with moderate motorway rides over 15 liters let you be surprised whether one has not accidentally got into the forum of another brand. Therefore the provocative question, whether the 350 BT is really so bad or whether it is more about reports about Mo ntagsautos. As far as the reports recommend to take the petrol engine in order to save the workshop frustration: I don’t want a petrol engine. If you can still convince me that the G350BT is the desired dream car of this vehicle class (must pull a 3.5t trailer on holiday): – where can I find more reviews – which contract workshop in the Munich area is recommended (do not want to visit the Munich branch) I’m curious about your opinion. Thanks for this in the Vorau He’s Jonny.
