Good evening dear Mercedes specialists, I bought a G55 year 2003 some time ago. He has since the beginning a too high resting current of 0.8A. After connection of an amperemeter I pulled all fuses individually, the current recorded and used again. Unfortunately I did not find as hoped a single large consumer, but several smaller (5-6) (0,1-0,2A). The car comes from Japan and a larger consumer was the Teleaid with 0.2A. D as Comand I have at the moment expanded and in repair, the problem of the too high resting current existed / exists independently of it. When searching the G-Class forum I found the hint of corroded mass bands and the exit lights as the reason of the too high resting current. Does it make sense to exchange the mass bands in your opinion on suspicion? Do you have any other ideas what I could do? (wasting is not an option yet) Is there a control unit for a kind of rest mode for all consumptions r? Hi, I have successfully built an OM606 in my 280GE including 6 gear gears. Before I was on the road with the four-speed automats. I adapted the original starter cable and built it to the new starter, but I don’t get a started signal when I press the ignition of keys. With a short circuit on the inner flywheel it goes very well but is of course not capable of along in the long run. My question now, which cables should be shut down and extracted s o that I get a signal? And with which available cables can I activate the “glow plug relay? I don’t like to drive a dirty car, advice like “buy another one.” don’t really help. Most of all, the dirt on top of the rear bumper corners wrung me. So far, I was in the belief that this comes from the draining water/lubrication of the rear door. Today, I found grass there after I had to drive a little over the meadow yesterday in relatively dry weather. And obviously, the inner wings are not flush on the outside wings. , at least not in the rear, lower part, the dirt whirled up by the rear wheels is looking for a way past it sideways. Can anyone confirm this suspicion and possibly give a remedy to get the wheel box really “dark”? Cheers Carsten

Good day together, just a few weeks ago I got my G63 MY2020 as a leasing, is on the 22er-AMG rims. Very chic, but since the winter is approaching and Pirelli Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico was raised up, I wanted to switch to winter/full year with snowflakes, in order not to get any trouble in Austria. To my surprise, I had to find out that there is probably no single tire for the 22er to buy, which has snowflakes or at least M+S. Now h So it’s freezing to buy new rims + new tires, wanted to take all year round and store the 22s, as the anyway are leased and can be returned in a new condition. I looked at Reifen.com, there are from Ronal quite chic in black, R55 SUV 9.5×20, with Hankook 275/45 R20 KInERGy 4S, both together scarcely 2000€ including Monday and tire pressure sensors. Have no great experience with Hankook, but is not completely unknown to me as a brand. Can you drive the parts like this? Od has anyone managed to pull winter tires on the 22? This spring I had my automatic transmission flushed with care, but was previously inconspicuous. When rinsing a good condition was also determined by visual inspection (as far as can be seen). Since then I drove about 10km without any abnormality. Last Thursday I had to go to Croatia, also without problems. On the way back I made an intermediate stop in the Salzkammergut. This night it really frozen there, about -5C. Wanted to park backwards from my parking space. The engine turned high, depending on the accelerator pedal. But nothing was put into the drive. So whether there was no power limit at all. Also restart did not bring any remedy. After approx. 5min I came up with the idea to set the selector lever to “N” and the distribution gearbox to “L”. Then again on “D” and he drove without any problems. Then stopped again, on “N” and the distribution gearbox put again on “H”. Then again on “D” and then I drove home, about 700 km. Twice stopped on the way. Nothing noticeable happened. What was that this morning? Does there mean something bigger or was it just a temporary cold shock of an electric switch?

Hello, I want to get a G as a new car soon, but I’m not sure yet what kind of a car… it’s also supposed to be a purchase, not a leasing. I have the choice between the new G500 and the “old” G500 as a special edition, alternatively the G350. My driving profile is rather short distance from customer to customer, everything <10km. 1x per week also ~50km. Year about 20Tkm. We also have a 2t caravan, so far our VW-T5 pulls, but the G should do it in the future. In the "land" I actually hardly go When I go on holiday to the beach or worse dirt roads, that shouldn't be a problem with anyone. We don't have to talk about consumption, that's clear to me. When I look at the used car, I only see the 350, which makes me doubt the quality, but which could also be due to the fact that the G500 is sold less often. How reliable is the G350? I would prefer a petroler out of my belly, but is it still true in today's market? When I compare the petrol engines with each other, it is mainly the consumption that speaks for the new one and the selectable chassis that I find annoying, the start/stop automatic...For the old one, the interior speaks with the AMG steering wheel (well in hand), the bumper and the larger cylinder capacity with hopefully greater reliability and longer lifespan.What do you think about it? PS: a rational car would be a small car....but I don't always want to be reasonable:-P

Could you offer it again. – 16″ option again, the brake disc has to be smaller. The big things are besides cheap anyway not the bringer compared to a real sports car brake. 1-piston rear…hello? 320mm punched with 4 neat pistons front and rear out of the Porsche modular is the way to go. I’ve been driving my G for 4 months and I’m only getting to know the “fan” in this really hot weather. At a cooling water temperature of about 100°C it starts when you give gas. It sounds like a loud noise, like a turbine with its wind noises. The engine noise comes into the background. It’s not unpleasant, but loud. You only hear the wind noises, not the fan motor or the like! Is that normal?? If enough wind is recorded, the noise disappears. I hope there are some G270 CDI drivers who can tell me about their vehicle!

Hello together, the waiting time until the delivery of my G is unbearably long. Luckily I can deal with the equipment during this time, which I still need. I am currently thinking about the rubber mats. I had also found and studied a thread from 2014. In the future, my G will move 90% on the road and I would like to be well equipped for the 10% terrain, so that it is also fun.
