  • Open questions before reordering !? Ask for reviews ?

    1) Does the laminated glazing also bring advantages in terms of indoor noise or is it only of advantage in terms of thermal protection. Does anyone have practical experience ? I find it a pity that this option only exists in connection with the darkened windows. 2) Does one of you not have Airmatic and drives the new standard steel suspension all around ? Are there experiences here compared to Airmatic ! 3) How to evaluate the sound system ? Of course compared to the Standard equipment ! Thank you for your hopefully knowledgeable answer. Unfortunately, the MB seller could not answer these questions. Frank

  • Limit Delivery Time => Infinite?

Servus dear R-Klässler, I’m considering taking an R-Class as a company car, the leasing conditions seem to be quite favorable at the moment. I’m actually only at the beginning of March next year, the dealer told me, however, that now ordered R-models would only be manufactured in Q1/2008 and then again 6-8 would be added for shipping. The forum search did not really satisfy me, my question thus: Can you take such long delivery times (6-7 months) from the signature to the Confirm vehicle delivery? And one more question: I’m not a Mercedes driver so far, so: Is the Command APS worth it? Thank you & Greeting!

  • R = S-class combi??

Hello (E)R drivers and forum members, I did it and now I bought a R320CDI. It’s really not nice, so it took me a long time to get over it. Now it’s there…and I’m thrilled, especially after the first longer ride. It’s a real GT (Gran Turismo), a car for the big trip. I’ve never been more comfortable with 1,200km a day: super quiet, floating like on clouds with air suspension, real pullman seats, great air conditioning, seidi The engine is strong enough, but the 8-cylinder diesel would be better. Also the interior is – for me – comfortable and comfortable to look at (leather grey with root wood). If the reliability also fits now, this is a great car; let’s see. Maybe I’ll get lost when I look at the R as an “S-Class-combi”, but that’s pretty good at the core of the thing. Conclusion: The R-type must probably be from the Germans and Eu However, it is quite expensive and therefore will probably not become a volume model. Also, the dimensions are already enormous and hardly suitable for inner cities due to the poor overview. But a large car is big, what should it be.

  • Snow balance

After the first winter days incl. new snow and icy roads, I have to praise the extremely ingenious driving characteristics of the R (with 4 Matic). Neither my predecessors cars (Q7 and Touareg) could keep up, let alone the A-Class (front drive) as a service vehicle. I never had a bad feeling with woman and baby to come through the so-called winter chaos. For me alone this is reason enough to always decide for an R-Class. By the way: my winter tyres are the Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D (235er). Must be said!

  • great things for the R-Class

Hello together, read again and again, that one or the other has been able to program what additionally, only with all the many posts I now have no overview. Can we summarize this one time? What is feasible? List simply complete… -Restliteranzeige -piepsen at the automatic tailgate …from many thanks

  • Unbalance

Hello dear R-community, when I leave in the morning, I reach the highway after about 3 minutes. There I notice an imbalance in the wheels at speed 120 km/h. Can happen! After a few minutes driving time the imbalance disappears. Now my MB dealer has already re-examined the (winter) wheels, yet it still persists. Do you think it is realistic that the imbalance is caused by the high vehicle weight when the car has stood all night? My car p My vehicle: R 350 CDI Lang 4Matic with all extras (weight!) My tyres: 255er Conti Winter 19 inch original from Mercedes. Thank you & Best regards Schwabe550

  • Keyless Go

One more thing I would have. Topic Keyless Go. My said R320 CDI also has this feature, but with the drawback that it works with all doors except the driver’s door. My dealer has changed the door handle before, but this was not the problem. Did someone have to have the same experience? What was wrong with you? My confidant said that it might be the cable harness in the driver’s door or the lock. It is however that if I had a working Keyless Go T open and close, the driver’s door also opens and closes. Only the operation of the Keyless Go is not possible. Please ask for useful information to me (“as Konrad Tönz said at XY reference number”).

  • Why not advertisement? What kind of sales strategy?

Because of the poor sales figures, Mercedes carries out a new and comprehensive facelift with the R-Class (which in my view has also succeeded) and it is not operated on the in-house homepage or anywhere in the media advertising for the “new model”. And whether it is really advantageous that the manufacturer now specifies in the configurator which models are available with 4 Matic drive and which are not resp. which models with short and which available with long wheelbase In front of the facelift, I was still free to choose the respective motorization with the respective wheelbase (short/long) and the respective drive (4 Matic/Heckdrive). At least as far as these aspects are concerned, everything was not necessarily worse with the predecessor model. Let’s hope that the R-Class will not finally become a “swaving stroke” due to this well thought-out sales strategy or that the manufacturer here still improved. beebymurphy

  • What do you wish for the Mopf / Facelift 2009

In 2009 the R-Class is on the collar – it is MOPFed. Only a few pictures are circulating on the Internet. The trade press does not yet report on it (with the R-Class anyway being treated stepmotherly by the media). What do you expect/want from the Facelift / Mopf ? For me should be changed: optics outside: – headlight rectangular – mirrors like GLK – more (other) colors – I can no longer see the grey / silver tones optics inside: nix – the R-Class is simply class, so wi The variability of the seats could be better: the third row of seats should be completely retractable in the ground. The center console of the second row should also disappear somehow in the ground if you need the complete cargo space. Infotainment-technically, the current R-Class with the new COMAND (since a few weeks) is already up to date. Engines: I consider very little of the hybrid hype. Consumption reduction is absolutely sensible – but then as it is currently BMW under the control ==References====External links==
