  • Repairs – is that still normal?

In July 05 S class was bought (BJ12/02 model year 2003/ 42tsd; 320 CDI). When the expert threw it through, the 2 worn out carrier joints – rep. would have paid sellers (official Benz branch) but went completely on kulanz. A few weeks later oil loss? No, was diesel, the fuel hoses were porous. A lot on kulanz, I still had to pay 100 from my own pocket. Christmas in Frankfurt: battery weakened. I new g After 2 1/2 weeks of waiting, the replacement (approx. 930 Euro, fully paid the guarantee). EPC lights up, more and more often, today in the workshop to make diagnosis: Gas pedal does not work properly with electrics. (formerly this went by rope train, nice old time!). Cost approx. 300, but also pays completely the guarantee. Is such a accumulation still normal, or has the previous owner lubricated or is it a Monday car, which me after the guarantee f or is it due to the change of driver and perhaps the different driving methods (I sometimes take the “little one” quite hard and drive it like a sports car). ******What do you think?****** Otherwise I am completely satisfied and do not think that I can ever be happy with a “normal car”. • TV report: disc film as burglary protection

Yesterday I saw a report on the TV, where one showed that a later applied special foil on the side panes offers better burglary protection. There are already tinting foils, or is there actually also colourless?! Do the actually same or similar effect, that if a disc is struck, this does not collapse immediately? Although I still think that the car manufacturer should try to make a considerably break-proof car h to create, it would be a good idea to additionally secure the car with such a foil…

  • 350 vs 320 cdi

hello all together…I’m sorry, abe rich didn’t find much for this comparison…my dad wants to get a w221…I myself was driving the 350 in october…was quite satisfied, driving myself a w210 320er(happy)…was comparable from the train…only that the s is certainly a little bigger and maybe a little tick more goes off… but at zero comma anyway I don’t…I’m interested in the 350 compared to the newly available 320cdi in the 221 which is after the who ten 0,2 s slower in the acceleration from 0 to 100 is, but its max torque somewhere at under 3 tours has the gasoline at 5 tours…that’s probably this said hole… I’ve unfortunately never driven nen cdi…so at all…would be great if someone could write down their experiences here, if available… thank me in advance…

But what Brabus has made of the biederen manager saloon, drives every sports car driver to the eye. Refined cylinder heads, larger turbochargers and a sports exhaust system let the S V12 S sprint from 0 to 100 in just 4.0 seconds. For comparison: A Porsche 911 Carrera S takes 4.8 seconds And the best thing: the top speed of 340 km/h is electronically limited. Without a lock, the sports car killer would happily continue to storm. If the Mercedes S 600 is optically understated, the Brabus offshoot is a real macho type. Spoilers at the front and rear, thick side skirts and four huge exhaust pipes make the Brabus look bitter from a distance. Understatement knows Brabus only at the price. That’s because there is only against request. Quite modest for a Macho, who likes to show what he has! See the first pictures of Brabus’s new sports car shock – click

  • Driver’s seat – please for help and ideas

Hello, I’m really desperate and I’m happy about every comment /help. In May last year I borrowed a S 350 from Avis for a week (374 euros instead of over 1000, computer error). The car was a dream, the seat as well; 6 hours at a time without any complaints. The seat was heated and ventilated. In June last year I bought a used S 320 CDI – unfortunately, I can’t afford a new one. I noticed immediately that the seat, the not t is ventilated, is not so great, but otherwise I was satisfied. It is more and more obvious, however, that after some time of driving I get the worst headache. No matter how I place the seat. A wool blanket creates remedy – but that can’t be it. I asked Mbenz that the seats have not been changed since MOPF. I recently saw a new W 220 at a dealer, put in : actually softer and more comfortable than mine. First question: is it because of the year of construction, so the 2005 seats are much more comfortable? Second question: or is it because the comfortable seats were all ventilated? Are these perhaps from the beginning a more comfortable one? Differently designed? Yesterday I was with a padding machine, which I expected help from, but which said that the seat was absolutely ok, and he would be glad if he had such a seat. Well, I would be glad if I could drive more than half an hour without Kop Do you have any ideas? (I asked by e-mail today what a new seat costs, however, fear that this will go into the thousands – will then have to separate me from my Benz and switch to VW – bäh!). Kind regards Pluto, completely crunches, because I had put all hope on the upholsterer.

  • W 126 Mopf model: questions about the performance data of the eight-cylinder cat vs. katlos

According to the factory specification, the 420er is lost by the cat 14hp, the 500er 21hp and the 560er 30hp (the higher compressed ECE engine I deliberately leave out). Questions: *Where does the loss of power (and also torque) come from? Compression and peripherals are the same, except for Kat and Lambdasonde. Is it only the increased counterpressure in the cat or are there any other changes like for example in full-ast enrichment or elsewhere? *why is the power loss in the larger lifting spaces so far exceeded This is why the kat-related power loss of the AKR engines (from 1987) is significantly smaller (only 7 to 21hp, depending on the engine capacity)? Were there other cats installed? *Sometimes someone made a measurement on a dynamometer? Although they have an R 107. However, since the engines are the same and the number of drivers in this forum is probably higher, I posted here (with a note in the SL forum).

  • Changemark Regulation adopted

moinmoin, now official: Bundesrat passed the bill of exchange yesterday 16.12.2011. who dares to read it – here:http://www.bundesrat.de/…/709-11.pdf otherwise request information here. guidelines: the bill of exchange (wkz) only for max. 2 vehicles of the same types (pkw, motorcycle, moped), no season marks. the long part has to be changed with the number, only a small, short part remains per car constantly. of tax reduction for 2 vehicles with wkz there is nothing to read, what the awards of the assicurants look like, one has to wait. the fees at the registration office seem moderate. main problem for some: the vehicle, on which the wkz is not mounted, must not stand on public roads, so that only for people with two parking spaces or garages. the beautiful cat (bj 1994 morocco red with leather sahara beige and only 52 tkm in summer) next to my ship blinks already a little more violently over and probably also wants the sh To get the number of the ship, see if the old lady gives it. so long

  • Another new

After the painful loss of my E 430 4 matic (W210) I decided now for a w 126. I wanted it since I was in the apprenticeship, and screwed it around. After many years driving Mercedes, I thought I was ripe for the 126er Actually I wanted to take time until the summer and get a nice one, but then I found a surprisingly favorable one, where it is still worthwhile to invest something. It is a 500 SE from the year 91. It has rust in some places, what came about by the craft of the predecessors, like the wheel runs. the underbody is very good and has hardly rust. Something under the tailgate, but I think that you can still do well, if you go fast Important for me was the technology, engine and transmission are great, runs quietly and switches gently. It was a bit tinkered, like white rear lights, wooden steering wheel and deeper with wide tires, which I, however, as well as it goes, back-up I think I’m going to make it fit to some extent, so I can use it as a winter car, and so next year I’ll see if I can find a nice piece of jewellery. Since it’s been deregistered for a few years, I have to make a few things work again, such as the heater. I don’t think that the petrol pump will do anymore, because the rest wants to work normally, only switches off after a while. There’s no petrol in the front either, everything is dry. Pump go, for I have not yet penetrated Anbei still a few pictures of my craft object

  • W140: 1988 – W220: ???

Hello dear community! I’ve been interested in some things for a long time. The W140 was supposed to be on the market as early as 1988, right? Now I’m asking some hypothetical questions: 1) If the W140 really came onto the market then, couldn’t this distance to the competition be described as GROESSTEN in automotive history? I mean, what did the competition have to offer at that time? 2) Had the W140 sold much better and had it less I’m sure that the sales figures would have been much better 3) If you had built the series only until 1995 or if you had pulled it through until 1998? 4) Is it conceivable that the W220 would have been on the market since 1995? I can hardly imagine that. That would have been too modern for this time, right? IVI

  • Maybach – who buys something like that?

Hello, have asked me today the question, who buys a Maybach? Interior and technology are from the W220 – so seen from yesterday. On the other hand, I have the more modern car with a W221. From the interior design I find Bentley and Rolls much more noble, the wooden surfaces are larger, everything seems more coherent (can I say only from photos – someone knows a RR or Bentley dealer around Wuppertal – so around 250 km, so Frankfurt, Düsseldorf etc.).
