  • Prejudice against 500 SEC?

    Hello guys, is it true that the old 500s SEC, year 89, are drinking animal fuel? I have been warned about the consumption of the engine. So you know that how much they consume, right? How much is the tax with G-Kat at the cylinder capacity? What does the insurance cost in about (partial cascade). Do you know special Internet pages about the SECs of old?     Hello S-class driver, would like to buy me a taxi soon. My question: it should become a W140 – Why? – It is cozy. – My dream car since my childhood ….usw. my friend thinks that he would swallow far too much – of course it should not become a V8 or even V12 I would be with an S320Lang (it must be a long version only then (I think ) that it is a real s-class…it can also be a 280er although a 2.8L 6 cylinder with an almost 2.5ton car would be undermotorized??!! ?? it should definitely not swallow too much… which year of construction is to be recommended? I find the Facelift version perfect so say about 98 or 97… I don’t want to spend more than 10,000euro, I know for this money I find as good as just garbage but maybe there is something nice…. Or should I rather grab the S 320 CDI? 2 reasons why I don’t want the w220 ( the w221 is far too expensive at the moment but maybe later 😀 ) – it’s too small to narrow s owas you can’t call it an S-class (of course if it’s a w220 I’ll be looking for up to 20,000euro ) – it’s not as a long version…:-( and a 320 petrol truck wouldn’t go either because I don’t just want to work for petrol….I know a w140 doesn’t swallow even 9L but it should vill a small engine that swallows little or a diesel that consumes little… I thank you in advance for the answers.

  • W220 – The renewal of the rear brake discs and the fixed brake became a nightmare!!!

    It was the horror!!!!!! After the brake cheeks of the parking brake were installed, I wanted to mount the Bremscheibe quite easily…………… does not fit over the brake jaws of the FSB. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas how can that be. The new discs are from TEXTAR and the brake jaws of the FSB are NEW. And exactly these were the problem!!!!!!!!!! At the top, where the jaws are attached to the adjuster, these dirty things were ever B 2mm too long. Therefore, too far apart, so the brake disc didn’t go over it. You have to think about it first…. …I thought I was in the wrong movie… Until I compared the new ones with the old ones: And thus determined this manufacturing error. That I was allowed to remove the brake cheeks again to install them afterwards…. is clear. And the installation of the brake cheeks is a sour work…. …also with 2 men a hell-murks….with the sch. .. Feathers. The AZB has an installation tool for it!!! At some point I had the turn but out…. …but it’s not easy anyway. Solution of the problem: post-processing to the original measure with the flex. Because I had a neck sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo so was pissed on, normally stay still very quiet!!! Did I still flex myself in the thumbs. In the zeal of the battle simply unconcentrated!!!!!!!!! approx. 1cm long and 2mm deep. And really thought what’s going on here?????? such a e Sch………. And the ONLY: Because these dirt things from the great company: FEBI/BILSTEIN NOT fit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Such an inferior MÜLL!!!!!!!!!!!! All in all, the installation of the discs/covers and the FSB including renewal of a brake hose: (one side came already NEW) ———–11 hours——————– took. Why soooooooooooo long: Very simple: 2 hours at all because of the sch…. Brake cheeks that did not fit!!!!!!! rotted The installation surfaces of the discs were made extremely bright, better than the AZB would ever do!!! The mechanism of the at the end of the rope which pushes the jaws apart again made accessible. The adjuster in the drum of the FSB again. The ropes lubricated and made walkable……and and and and….. all this pulls and pulls…..so you end up at 11 hours!!!!!!!!!! HOWTO is in work!!!
