  • Quality in the S-Class is reflected in small things?

    There’s a small, if annoying problem again. On the glove flag in the S 400 CDI BJ 2005 is the button to open the glove compartment. On this said button the whole color now peels off, so that it is soon a grey light-lit button. Question: can you just change it like that? But probably the whole dashboard needed new???!! Or do you have another idea besides painting??? In the sense that I am I’m looking forward to your answers

  • Buy CL 500 with input LPG system or would you rather retrofit it later on?

    Hello dear Mercedes S-&CL-community, I am about to buy a CL’s 500 (W415) and would have had only very specific questions, after I was able to pick and answer most of my own thanks to helpful contributions here. Today I had the opportunity to drive a well-preserved CL500 with 140tkm sample from year 2001. Has full equipment, from inside as well as from outside very well maintained, 2 previous owners, 100% original condition & complete AMG package. He has a relatively new e LPG system installed over which the seller (private) unfortunately does not have any papers etc. (Manufacturer: unfortunately nowhere to recognize) Now I have to consider that any defect to the gas system could be. Because the system looks relatively new and the seller wants to sell the vehicle now. Why invest about 2,000,-€ in the car and then sell it again after a few months??:S Should I rather leave my fingers off or nevertheless access the super offer??? Thanks already in advance!!!   • Change from BMW to Mercedes – meaningful?

    After my third BMW has a brand new 523i only defects and I am really operated by the BWM service I will change it with all prudence which should legally not be a problem since it already has the fifth high-pressure pump and the third injector defect within eight weeks. The C-Class is too small for me and the existing E-Class unfortunately did not convince me from driving. Therefore I speculate to get an S-Class as an annual car or demonstrator. My questions to the Mitgli 1) What is the reliability of the new S-Class? I drive almost only abroad and defects at night in the province of France like this week with my BMW are really annoying. 2) What is your experience with the Mercedes Service in the event of a breakdown? At BMW I have received mostly one or two classes worse cars so far, which is simply unreasonable with the frequency of repairs and the telephone service was extremely mixed from outrageous to very hard. 3) Where are the actual consumptions for the smallest gasoline and the smallest diesel according to your experience.   • W126 Engine gets very hot – need help.

    Hello all, I have a W126 Bj89 as 300. I bought it only at the beginning of the year, it was still cooler Now I noticed that the engine is getting very warm.The following problem: it’s warm outside, summer, sun etc., actually nice I drive slowly / stop and go / or have to stop = then my engine gets warm. (previously engine Temp: 80-85 degrees) At the moment the temperature rises to an estimated 110 degrees. -Quickly I turn on the heating and e r cools down a bit. -When driving faster I have no problems (motor Temp 85 degrees). What I noticed: If you look at the cooler from the front, there is a fan there. I have never seen it turn (bad or?). Does this not have to turn on if the engine exceeds a certain temp? It does not turn out or stand in, so it does not run after. I guess it is the “additional fan” and has the fuse 1 – which is also inside and lies on it The cable from the fan leads past the left headlight, there is also a kind of “plug”, actually I wanted to measure there, but I didn’t get it apart?! Could a thermostat be the culprit? Bzw can I test it? I would be very grateful about answers. Greetings

    Hello, my German is a bit sloppy because I would like to apologize. I am from Bulgaria and I have a mercedes S 320 CDI – BJ 2006 i and approx. 110 tkm. In december I have a turbo damage at 98 000 km. I was at Mercedes and I waited 30 days for turbo and motor blok to change. On 28.12.2007 the car was vertig, but after 2000 km. was vieder turboshad and vieder 20 days vartezeit. On 23.01.2008 was vertig. Vieder after 7500 km. turbo and motor blok was kaput. now au to steet at Mercedes vieder and I wait. can you help me: Can I change car at mercedes or get money touk or what can I do. Thank you

  • S-class vibrates in stand

    Hello, maybe someone can help me here. I drive an S-Class, year 2004, for half a year the car vibrates – but only in cold condition and only in D-position. As soon as the car has run warm- the noise/vibration is gone. I had the engine bearings changed, engine check was also made – everything was possible. Also on the gearbox there were no errors to find. MB says it could be that the cat is clogged and a new one has to be installed. But why does the car vibrate? I would be very grateful if someone could help me further. P.S. :is it true that a new cat incl. installation costs 4000€? L.G. from Berlin Delfin1812

  • S430 vs. S500 vs. E500

    Hi, we are currently playing with the idea of getting a new car. At the moment we drive an E320 (W210) and are thinking about whether it may not be an S-Class. At Phaeton we would have landed by a hair a little longer time ago, but then as always everything was different and by now my wife tends clearly towards Mercedes, but actually not much is clear yet, so that we are still quite swimming, in between even If the children are out of the house, you don’t have this space, as it used to be.   • Mercedes S-Class Extreme tyres

    Hello together. I have a w126 420sel (HA level) would like to mount the following marking: Tyre size front: 10J x 18 245/40ZR18 Tyre size rear: 11J x 18 285/35ZR18 Each have the ET35.I know that my car is not allowed over et30, otherwise it would grind from the inside, that is et20 or so is ok.My question is, can I also have et-? Or does it always have to be in the “plus range”?? Have thought if it should fit… At the front I would like 20mm discs per page or better take 30mm per page and at the back too… Or is it wider?? Have I seen 60mm slices per page This looked really brutal… What do you say, how should I – which distance disks to install??? Thanks already in advance.Ps.   • Some technical problems w126

    Good evening.. Have some problems with my 126er again, it is about the Fzg. 1. The gearbox makes so funny noises during the ride… As if there was a wheel spinning with… And sometimes it sounds like something is grinding on the gearbox…. 2. If I drive around the corner or even over shaky roads then such a crackling noise comes from the back right… Is really annoying… And in rainy weather it’s not there- the noise… Especially to h If I drive on petrol, the car runs restless.Oil pressure changes up and down by about 0.5Bar , is in warm condition on D very rarely under 1.5Bar, think that is I.O. But he is just restless on petrol… on gas he always ran very calm… 4. Every now and then at the cold start the car hardly takes on gas… But if I take the foot lightly off the gas, he somehow has me hr Power…so exactly the other way around… Sometimes I have the problem even in the warm state( 85 degrees), then has no power at all… but the economy indicator is on red… Because I give gas… Aei ug Gas is not the problem!
