I’m going to sell my W124 and want to buy a bigger Mercedes. I revel between a SL R129 and the S-Class W140.I know that you can’t compare these two cars and that some people probably think what selection criteria I choose but that’s not the topic.In the middle of next year I have about 15000 euros available.For that there are already a SL of the first years of construction but I would like to buy one from 93 I would only take the 500SL.Now for the W140.I would take the 420 and the 500.320 would be too sluggish for me.In my 124er it runs very fast but the 140er weighs much more.My weight is 1500Kg and the 140er certainly 1900-2000Kg or??The 600er falls outside because I am too cheap for this in terms of maintenance costs (Sprit, taxes etc.)Repairs etc. goes by myself.Replacement source is also secure.My question goes to all 320er 420 He and 500 W140 drivers.What do I pay attention to when I buy and from which year of construction do I not have to complain about child diseases?Reicht der 420er as far as the driving performance is concerned about the 500er?Has seen an offer on the Internet: 500S,1 previous owner,178000Km,year of construction at the end of 92 I believe. Hello, my father has used a heavy oil consumption in his Mercedes (built in 2002, registered for 6 months). In fact, within 6 months the car consumed approx. 2.8 liters of oil on approx. 4800 km.
