Dear Starfriends Ride, highly satisfied, a 300 SEL (W126). Now I have the opportunity to buy a top-notch (wholeless service booklet of course), unbasked, 300 SEL (W140 – with 3.2 liter engine) – built in 1991, nearly 160’000 km mileage, leather, climate, airbags, automatic antenna, etc. What it does not have: heatable front seats, electric seat adjustment – although the latter does not bother me at all; admitted, the heating function is useful. I know and have studied them. I am particularly interested in opinions of MB drivers who know BEDE series. I am not a frequent driver (monthly approx. 500 kilometers). Twice S-Class doesn’t have to be, one vehicle is enough for me; so I recently sold my 300 CE-24 to a good friend (and MB fan 100 %). I thank you very much for your assessments! Best regards TAKIS

Hello together and merry Christmas :-), I have a W220 Bj. 99 S500 and have a Navi CD Teleatlas 1999 that works perfectly. Now I thought of a more up-to-date version could not hurt 🙂 and ordered me Blaupunkt Travel Pilot Germany 2005/2006 (no DX). When the 3 CDs came I tried out immediately with the result: no navigation CD please change CD. With all three no success. The whole returned and got new. Again with the same Erg ebnis, my Navi (Command D) does not recognize the CDs. The old one is easily recognized and read and funtioned. Does anyone have an idea what the mistake can be? Apart from that, the BE goes out and then you can’t drive in public road traffic anymore… What does that mean to remove the cats and replace them with simple pipes (cat replacement pipes). Some of my people have done this and report a noticeable increase in performance (S8, S6 and an A8 4.2) What about it? Or is it just the subjective impression because the car is getting louder… I have expressed my concerns about the exhaust flow of the vehicles? but exactly adapted to the engine is right? hello, have the search already tried but found nothing. have bought the s430 before a week, have now found the following problem: if I have the outside mirror fold in, this is done on the side of the driver quite normal, however on the side of the driver it takes about twice as long as on the side of the driver. one hears on the driver side a quiet “tack-tack” as if the teeth would not grip correctly. does anyone know this problem? handles here the MB-europa-guarantee? car has circ a 88′ down and is completely stapled and was also bought at a MB branch.

Hello guys, is it true that the old 500s SEC, year 89, are drinking animal fuel? I have been warned about the consumption of the engine. So you know that how much they consume, right? Hello S-class driver, would like to buy me a taxi soon. My question: it should become a W140 – Why? – It is cozy. – My dream car since my childhood ….usw. my friend thinks that he would swallow far too much – of course it should not become a V8 or even V12 I would be with an S320Lang (it must be a long version only then (I think ) that it is a real s-class…it can also be a 280er although a 2.8L 6 cylinder with an almost 2.5ton car would be undermotorized??!! ?? it should definitely not swallow too much… which year of construction is to be recommended? I find the Facelift version perfect so say about 98 or 97… I don’t want to spend more than 10,000euro, I know for this money I find as good as just garbage but maybe there is something nice…. Or should I rather grab the S 320 CDI? 2 reasons why I don’t want the w220 ( the w221 is far too expensive at the moment but maybe later 😀 ) – it’s too small to narrow s owas you can’t call it an S-class (of course if it’s a w220 I’ll be looking for up to 20,000euro ) – it’s not as a long version…:-( and a 320 petrol truck wouldn’t go either because I don’t just want to work for petrol….I know a w140 doesn’t swallow even 9L but it should vill a small engine that swallows little or a diesel that consumes little… I thank you in advance for the answers.
