  • Which engine in the W220

    Hello guys, since a buddy of mine still has no internet I ask the question for him here. My buddy wants to buy an S-Class W220. Only with what kind of engine? In question come 320 430s or 500s. How are there about the differences in the maintenance costs consumption etc. It can and should please everyone write his experience with the above mentioned motorizations. Please also tell us what has to be paid attention to when buying. Where are the Mägel in general with the car. Unfortunately I don’t know about the car very well? Before I have to admit that I am a total newcomer in the Mercedes brand I would be grateful for a pair of tips, pictures, prices etc regarding rims & exhaust tuning at a Mercedes S 350 bj 12.2003. My buddy bought one and we search through now the net looking for a few send 19 or 20 inches and a grim good exhaust system is only provided, no car body work because of the rims… thank you already in advance Dear Greeting Michel

  • Gammel on Mercedes S-Class Model 99

    I greet you! Have the pleasure of screwing on a Mercedes for once…and the pleasure disappears when looking at thick rust bubbles at the doors…Candle rust and red-flowering folds at the underfloor. The vehicle is a 500 from 1999, with 120,000km on the clock. After 6 years the rust looks at me as if it were a Fiat from the 80s! Doors and side bars are dry…no cavity sealing available! For this the sheet is blooming in best rust crystals. That’s what I had with a Mercedes of the upper class not expected!!! Also the internal values leave to be desired…window lifters and electric exterior mirrors are simplest type and relatively weakly designed. Door door clips broke off to 80%…I don’t know from other cars!!! Disappointment on the whole front!!! The S-Class is a gammeliger cart…and I am looking for the reason why such a scrap heap has cost just under 100,000 new?!?! I can’t imagine that this vehicle has a I’m looking forward to your answers!

    The following problem ; I ordered the AMG styling with my S-class and it is too late to cancel. Now to my question : Can other tuners (e.g. Carlsson, Brabus,Asma etc.) mount their front spoilers and exhaust systems despite the AMG styling or is that not possible ? Maybe you know bike, because I don’t want to call and make the impression as if I have no idea of anything (is always a bad negotiating base) . Thanks, Vitares

    My E320 W211 is definitely overdue now. Have a brilliant offer for an even new W220-500. Is the envy factor with German customers (Managing Director Mittelstand and Buyer) much greater than with the E-Class? Or do I overestimate it as Swiss. I know a little stupid the question, but maybe one or the other has had his experience? I was and am just a total S-fan. Can stick 350 on it, or CDI 190 What do you think in Germany as World Cup champion -06 plus? Or do I get only pity for the W220 instead of envy? (because 221) Otherwise I buy myself a modest E500 greeting!!

  • S500 Conversion W220

    Hi! Soon an S500 W220 Bj 99 will be at my door. I plan a large-scale (and perhaps somewhat nonsense-sounding) conversion with the car. I would have some questions about this. 1. Autogas Does the consumption indicator remain on car gas while operating, or does it fail? 2. Navi Evtl could come to a command from the facelift. The question is: does it work in the old W220, and can it be connected to the driver information display? 3. Chassis Can you lower the S, Is it possible to set the automatic box, i.e. the part where the gear lever is, a little higher (c.a. 8cm)? That is, how is the box connected to the transmission part? Through a flexible wire (like a bicycle brake) or with a fixed rod? Many questions, I know, but I would be happy to get an answer. Your V28

  • Leather cleaning ORIONGRAU

    Hello, a tip for people with Orion grey leather seats (others as well). Since I travel a lot in dark coloured jeans, the light leather seats have over time got a dark veil. I tried everything possible and above all expensive but without any real success. The greasy “leather care products” that can be bought like this are actually only expensive. I found the ulitmative solution today. I am from the best wooden floor soap (Fa. TripTrap from Denmark from Palm- and Linseed oil) prepares a solid foam and cleans the seats with a microfibre window cleaning cloth (the one with Flor). First rub well with the foam, then dry with a terry cloth and then the same. The effect was brilliant. The seats are as new. No greasy shine as from the expensive means, fresh color, matte look and silky soft through the re-greasy soap.

  • Experience report S300TD over almost 8 years/everyday the 1st repair

    Experience report My father drives an S 300 TD year of construction 4/1998. We bought the car and picked it up in Stuttgart. In the meantime he ran exactly 110,000 km. A great car! When you drive you don’t hear the diesel bit. Even current V6 Audi diesel can’t keep up with it (a colleague drives a completely new 3.0 TDI). In the stand you can unfortunately hear the diesel (there is the Audi 3.0 TDI quieter…), but as soon as you start, you no longer hear diesel noise. I over this 110,000 km with smooth 10.0 liters. Top! Yesterday was the first reperture on the car! The exhaust was rusted through. Weird, after only about 8 years…..and in short distance traffic the car was hardly used. Well. Otherwise there was nothing. No defects, no repairs! Not even the brake discs or pads had to be renewed until today. (Remember 110,000 km mileage!) We were at Mercedes for inspection a few months ago and even those could It’s hard to believe that it’s still supposed to be the first brake discs or pads At the beginning the car had used a little oil…but that’s also gone back a lot. The driving performance is quite ok, you can get ahead very quickly. And a car to race is certainly not an S-Class. Who wants to buy something else. By the way, top speed according to Tacho are smooth 220 km/h, then it is regulated. Super comfort offers the car even after 8 years. And no bisc All the top. Let’s keep it going!
